Disappointed with Reception and Extra Charges||||I booked Ibis Budget Lugano through Booking.com for £109, which clearly included £10 city tax and VAT. However, when I arrived, the receptionist (with the name tag “Daniel”) insisted I had to pay the city tax again, saying it was a “mistake on Booking.com.”||||I showed him my confirmation several times, but he refused to respect the booking price. After consulting someone I believe was the manager, he returned without his name tag – as if removing it would make the problem disappear.||||When I mentioned that I would contact Booking.com and leave a review, they went silent and offered no explanation. Overall, the situation felt unprofessional and disappointing. Guests should be aware that the hotel may not honor the advertised price.
