ibis budget Lugano Paradiso

Very nice staff, perfectly clean rooms & great breakfast! We stayed for nine nights. The breakfast was fresh & really good. No matter how full the hotel was, the really friendly staff was well organized. The rooms are not too big but big enough for two people to explore the city. WLAN is fast & good. Location is very central. Parking underneath is not cheap but safe & comfy!

Location was great (beautiful 20 min walk along lake to the city center), room had everything you need but with a baby crib and stroller in it, you couldn't move much, next time we'd go for a bigger room. If you don't have a baby, the room would be basic but clean and has all one needs. Breakfast was good, but I missed "cream cheese" (like Philadelphia). Staff was friendly.

A very good located, clean and friendly hotel. Our room was furnitured with compact but practical furnitures. The bed was extremelly comfortable. The lake is in 1 corner, the railway station, supermarket is in a 5 minutes walk distance. We loved it.

Extremely small room for three adults. Bunk bed uncomfortable. It has AC and is in good location.

The room was very clean, but overall had the basic necessities needed to get by. There were no charging ports by the bed, which meant we had to charge our phones by the sink (an active water outlet) which was a health and safety hazard. The bed was rock solid, which made the stay quite uncomfortable. The receptionists were really polite and made sure we had everything we needed. We saw a show at the LAC Lugano that evening which was really lovely and the hotel was conveniently located for this, but was quite tricky to find when coming from Central Lugano. The bathroom was separated into a shower and a toilet, where the sink was in the bedroom which was odd. The toilet didn’t have a lock on the door which lacked privacy and was more like a wardrobe style door, where you could hear everything going on behind it. The shower was a see-through glass door which again, lacked privacy. There were 3 coathangers to hang clothes and not a lot of storage space. The room overlooked the pool which was really lovely, and had a blackout blind to block out light in the morning. We could control the lights from a button beside our bed, which was helpful when going to sleep. However, the shower light wouldn’t turn off at night which was irritating, as when we tried to take the key card that activated the lights out, it cancelled out the power and we couldn’t charge our phones. Overall, this stay was alright for one night but we couldn’t stay here for a week. The negatives outweighed the positives massively.

Rooms are clean and room service done meticulously. Breakfast has lots of items and awesome in taste. Reception desk is very efficient and arranged everything within minutes. Location is great in paradiso. The provided Ticino pass which is very helpful for tourists.

Do not spend your money here. When they said it is a “budget” hotel, they really meant it. Rooms are very small. Crammed. No kettle in the bedroom. Toilet is separate from shower in the bedroom. At night, it is very very hot. The hotel staff cannot do anything about it. Also, the bed mattress is very very uncomfortable, I did not sleep at all. I spent £300 for 2 rooms for 5 people. The worst £300 I have ever spent.

If you want to use the budget Ibis, I do not recommend it at all, as the value of money does not suit the service provided. I do not recommend this hotel at all. There is no air conditioning, and if there is an air conditioner, it is shared, and you cannot control its cold. The room temperature was 40 degrees Celsius.😠 Overall 1 of 5But the other IBIS hotel in the same building is better but not recommended also. The hotel location very good, brackets good.
