I booked a room for four days. Knowing that my trip was confirmed, I prepaid for the room. I left Saturday afternoon for a Sunday morning arrival. I had major travel delays due to the airlines and got stuck at JFK for Saturday night. I reached out to the hotel to cancel my room for Sunday night knowing I was not arriving now until Monday morning, but they would not let me cancel my room.
I completely understand that I needed to cancel within 48 hours, but when it comes to traveling internationally, I would expect that they would be more accommodating when unexpected delays out of my control prevent me for making my reservation. I gave as much advance notice as I could, but my request was rejected. I was very disappointed on their decision especially when I had a disastrous two days of travel. Other than that, the hotel was good.
