ibis Rio de Janeiro Botafogo

We have stood for just one night there to be able to attend a big concert. Staff was really nice and friendly at the reception desk. Facilities were not what we expected for the price we paid, though, even knowing that it was a busy night at the city due to the concert. The extra foldable bed in the room was closed to be used as a balcony, but after putting my backpack on top of it it felt on us and almost got us hurt. We then realized that the mechanism that locks it closed was broken. Also it was really dirt and had nail remains behind it. They probably do not consider cleaning under it once in a while. There were no hand towels and we had to use the bath towels at the sink, that was partially clogged. We also did not have shampoo at the shower (the recipient was empty). We did talk about the extra bed at the reception desk, but as it was a single night stay, we did not mention the other stuff. I am sure they would have provided us, but I would not stop my shower and dress up to have it refilled.

Great location, clean, good breakfast, view of the Christ statue- we stayed in the 1056 room-good customer service, safe.|We were concerned because the reviews weren’t very good. However we have no complaints! We need to stay in Botafogo so it was very convenient location and not noisy at all. Bedroom and bathroom are small for American standards but for a budget hotel at Rio de Janeiro it is normal. I’m very picky for comfortable hotel and this one was better than I anticipated. We have nothing to complain at all.|Gave 4 rate because every business has room for improvement.|Would stay there again.

I stayed at the Ibis Botafogo (Rua Paulino Fernandes, 39) and had the following observations: The location is excellent, with easy access to key establishments like supermarkets, pharmacies, the metro, and restaurants. The rooms were acceptable but showed clear signs of wear, dirt, and misuse, which impacted comfort. Maintenance and cleanliness need attention. The dining area is well-organized. Breakfast and lunch were satisfying, though dinner options were very limited. The internet worked well in common areas but was unreliable in the rooms, forcing me to use mobile data. The hotel has strong potential due to its location and amenities, but improving room conditions, dinner variety, and internet connectivity would significantly enhance the guest experience.

It's well located for everything and very clean and safe. The staff was amazing. They would always help me. The area is great for bars and restaurants.

Great service, personnel always helpful, rooms really clean! Nothing bad to say about the place! Lovely, and i will for sure come back!!

Spotty wifi and terrible managers that dealt with it. Wifi didn't work for like 24 hours. They lied about giving me 2 dinner vouchers. They ended up only letting me use 1

I loved the location. Everything was simple and easy from check in to check out. I loved that there was Vegan milk on the breakfast, to be perfect it would be great to have some vegan options to eat at the breakfast as well, such as hummus, guacamole or avocado pate. The room was good and comfortable, but I'd like it to be a little cozier on the lights and colours of the walls, I found it a bit dark. Botafogo is such a lively neighbourhood right now and it was wonderful to be able to go to restaurants, bookstore, theatre, movie on walking distance. But overall it was a very good experience.

Room feels like it was not touched since the 1970s, terrible experience, the AC is so loud I can hear it through my AirPods blasting music, just avoid, feels very cheap and dirty, toilet also not clean
