ibis Rio de Janeiro Botafogo

The location is excellent and you can Uber easily (and not expensive) to many popular sites. It is located near many restaurants that are within walking distance and the area around this hotel felt generally more safe than walking around other areas of Rio. The Botafogo mall is very close. The Metro/Subway station is down the street and very easy to use to get to many beaches (e.g. Copacabana, Ipabema, Leblon, etc). The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful.

I stayed in a very clean double room and had a very good experience. The hotel doesn’t provide extras like slippers, which I expected and brought my own, but I was surprised that only bath towels were provided with no hand towels. The only bin is in the bathroom, and it would be helpful to have one in the room as well.|The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, and some spoke English, which made things much easier. The location is convenient busy but safe and it was easy to get an Uber to pick you up or drop you off right outside the hotel. The room had a fridge, which was empty, making it handy to stock up from the nearby supermarket. The price was also very reasonable for Rio, making this a practical and comfortable base for exploring the city. As a solo female traveller I felt very safe here.

The hotel is located in one of the best neighbourhoods in Rio, I could see the jesus statue from my room. The room is not very big but is spotless clean and still has absolutely everything a person would need.

Almost everything was fine, but the price for the breakfast I had to have at the hotel on a rainy day. A much better choice eating breakfast at one of the local bakeries.

Great location, clean, good breakfast, view of the Christ statue- we stayed in the 1056 room-good customer service, safe.|We were concerned because the reviews weren’t very good. However we have no complaints! We need to stay in Botafogo so it was very convenient location and not noisy at all. Bedroom and bathroom are small for American standards but for a budget hotel at Rio de Janeiro it is normal. I’m very picky for comfortable hotel and this one was better than I anticipated. We have nothing to complain at all.|Gave 4 rate because every business has room for improvement.|Would stay there again.

It’s a nice place to stay for a short time. During the night, watch out outside because it’s quite unsafe. The staff is nice and I missed a kettle in my room.

It was just as I expected: good accommodation and a very polite staff.

I booked this without knowing anything other than what I had read online and on yelp reviews. Thank goodness yelp came through for me. This hotel was one I'd easily book again. Clean, centrally located, easy checkin, lovely restaurant and bar. Practical rooms with basic amenities. Taxis outside. Help from the front desk for everything from printing to airport transportations to restaurant recommendations. Very good. It's a business style hotel. Not so much family style. But for 2 adults travelling with teens it was good. Again, great central location, good food, and good service.

I really liked this hotel. I come to Brazil for work and what's most important for me isn't some luxury place on the water, it's cleanliness, ac, and the ability to walk to work and restaurants. The rooms a very practical and purposeful, bed 2 pillows, just a sheet for cover, great tv setup with inputs in flush cabinet, easy controls, safe, refrigerator, closet and very basic bath amenities. You have to understand what you are paying for and getting. It's a budget hotel that is very clean, well serviced, has a bar, some entertainment and is freshly renovated. For these reasons and that it's close to the main road connection anywhere you want to go while also walkable all over Botafogo, it attracts a lot of business clientele. In fact on my visit, they were the majority (could be the hours I was up too) I will definitely stay here on my next visit
