I wanted to use the restroom as soon as I got into the room. The toilet was dirty. It was not cleaned from the last usage of the toilet bowl. Pls see the pictures. They shifted me to another room and here also the toilet bowl was not properly cleaned (Much better than the first one). When I reported this to the reception, they offered to refund my money and stay elsewhere. I told them that it is about 1930 Hrs (tough to find another hotel at that time) and I also have a friend of mine, who would be staying in another room the next day as were were visiting Chapada Diamentina. The hotel is lacking maintenance big time. The ceiling of the toilet was falling off. The floor tiles in the toilet were not properly aligned. The elevators are not in the best condition. The alleyways had some sort of white stains. On my return from Chapada Diamentina, I had stayed for one night (This was also booked a few weeks in advance alongwith the stay that I had toilet bowl problems) and this room also had issues. Water was dripping from the ceiling in the toilet making the toilet floor wet throughout my stay. I sink was also clogged. I verbally told the reception about this and said that I do not want to chnage rooms as I was leaving at 0300 Hrs the next morning. The receptionist requested me to report these issues when I get an email, to review the hotel, from IBIS group. Location: The location was great with several good (slightly expensive) restaurants within walking distance. The place was safe to walk around late in the evenings. Room: The toilet cleaning was bad. They do daily service of the rooms. The rooms are not that spacious for the price you pay. The toiletries were very basic. Hot Water: was functional and satisfactory Air Condition: satisfactory, not noisy. TV: Not flat screen. Not many channels. Soundproof: not sound proof. I could hear the people in the adjacent room. WiFi: was good. Refrigerator: Small but functional Elevator: Old and needs maintenance Breakfast: I did have breakfast on my second stay. It is expensive and not that many western food items.

Hard double beds with thin mattresses and not-so-friendly staff made this a bad stay for me. It's a shame, because the location itself is really nice.

It was a pleasure to stay at Ibis Rio Vermelho, huge breakfast buffet, 24 hours bar and great location. The staff is so friendly and efficient! But I just wish we at Ibis Rio Vermelho could use the swimming pool next door at Mercury hotel from the same group. I am definitely returning but will try next door Mercury’s hotel as they have gym and swimming pool!

The room is very small There is no place to keep luggage open except on the bed. Leaks in the bathroom flooding the floor when I am out of the room and at night

For EU standard, the hotel is NOT an Ibis. Definitely close to an Ibis Budget. The Service is minimal but friendly and efficient. The main advantage of this hotel is its location. It is located in one of the most secured and residential area of the town. That is a crucial factor to consider in Brazil. For this reason I rated the hotel a 3 stars. I expected more but security is a top priority for gringos !

Check-in process smooth.|The room was small and nothing exceptional.|We had lunch at the hotel. The food was ok, however it is not possible to put lunch and or breakfast on the room. We had to pay straight away to the waiter. At mornings, before breakfast, the hotel wasn't very organised. We had to queue and wait for whoever didn't have it included and so on. The quality wasn't good.|Unfortunately I would not recommend it.

Was a short expirience. The reception was really kind and let us check in early as it was available. However, the bedroom conditions was not good regarding conservation and I had a problem to get a second coverall to sleep. Just after complain a lot was found a second one for my room.
