ibis Styles Lausanne Center Mad House

The hotel is well-decorated, and it is completely genuine and eccentric, but I rated it so low because of the staff. We didn't realise the check-in was at 16:00 (a little bit late, to be honest), so we arrived at 15:10 or so. We had to wait until 16:00 to complete the check-in... of course, we understand the rules, and so on, but really?? Anyways. Second, and bearing in mind the location and the branch of the hotel, we were really surprised the staff didn't talk in English at all. Finally, we understand the concept of "mad," but including condoms as part of the amenities... it is a little bit out of place. The rooms are exactly as they say: "Small is Beautiful ", so rooms are exactly small, but beautiful. So do not expect a comfortable room. Besides, the first floor is the worst because of the noise of the street and the music of the bar just under your room.

The room is super tiny, and I cannot image if you want to stay two people! The ground floor is a bar and heavy music stay until 2 am on Saturday! The staffs are quite nice and friendly, but I won’t come for the next time!!

Stayed there for only one night. More than enough. I had a huge bug in the room, the room was super warm, no option to open a window, it was very dusty with a dirty carpet floor… I’d never stay there again and don’t recommend this to anyone.

Centrally situated in old town Lausanne. Great for an overnight stay en route to Geneva airport for an early flight. Friendly fun staff. Rooms are small but clean, there was water and a coffee machine. Perfect for an overnight stay. Some reviews reported it being noisy but we did not experience any more than in any other hotel.

The hotel is suitable for young people in vacation, not suitable for business accommodation. The washbasin is incredibly small, quite uncomfortable , there is no fan in the toilet. Good coffee machine

The room is a bit small (compact) with a small shower and toilet area. The basin is small and narrow. But it's Clean. There is hair dryer in the room, and Iron is available upon request. This place is about the location and accessibility. It's right next to the Metro station with a few lines running to/from or through it. Walking distance to key areas of interest. Very friendly staff manning the reception and bar/lounge. They gave complimentary beer.

I had such a wonderful experience in this hotel. The staff was super friendly, my bed and pillow was so comfy, the location was excellent, the hotel design very stylish and the gifts were the sweetest. I take great memories from here and will definitely return. I LOVE this hotel!!!

Sink placement not designed well as well as the rabbit bolted to the table. Shower did not drain well as well as it being flush to the floor. No explanation of the room features. No A/C or temperature controls in room. Noise outside of hotel continued until 2am all nights. Breakfast was all cold and not appropriate for being charged. Napkins were way too small and black (ridiculous). Entrance to hotel not displayed outside. NEVER AGAIN!

Super hip, botique hotel, very central location. Downstairs is a restaurant coffee shop/bar. On the roof is a cool bar! Check in was smooth. We got there early and they held our bags. Rooms were modern and very small. VERY SMALL. Like the toilet and shower are just at the foot of the bed, sort of like a cubical in an office and the sink placed in between. So make sure you go with someone you are comfortable with in a very very small space. They are quite efficient with the use of such a small space, providing hooks and hangers for clothing and leaving space under the bed for your stuff, and somehow there was room for a small desk, great decorations and murals throughout. We had a revolving peace shaped red disco light in our room, does it get any better than that!? The little, thoughtful extra touches like the free welcome drink and gift (little music box) help a little in making up for the smallness! Coffee machine in the room made delicious coffee and the snacks and drinks provided are free! They give you ear plugs and condoms too! Apparently on the weekends it can get loud. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room so it being small wasn't a problem. The lobby and rooftop bar are great spots to hang out in and there is free wifi throughout the hotel and bars. Parking is close and they have a voucher that makes it 15 instead of 28 dollars. Would stay here again.
