"A seductively peaceful spot, the Ibiza Gran is a slice of laidback island life that’s deceptively close to the bustling town center. Eager to cater for every guest’s whim, the hotel has 12 different room configurations. The most basic option is a premium, set on the hotel’s first and second floors and looking out across Talamanca’s busy streets, with a king-size bed, rainfall shower, and uber-deep bathtub. 15 Best Hotels in Ibiza (2024) | Condé Nast Traveler

"The elegant Ibiza Town oasis It’s over 20 years since the Ibiza Gran Hotel opened in Ibiza Town’s marina glossy district, predating the area’s multi-million-euro revival by a decade. The waterside zone is now the island’s smartest hang-out and Ibiza’s original five-star hotel is still very much at its heart. Inside, the Ibiza Gran Hotel is a paradigm of serene luxury, with restrained, cream-on-cream interiors (money talks, but wealth whispers), a sweeping, art-filled lobby, and vast, airy suites, some with private plunge pools and extraordinary views across the harbor to UNESCO -protected Dalt Vila. Outdoors, two lagoon-like pools (one is adults-only) are fringed with plush daybeds, manicured lawns, and towering, tottering palm trees. So far, so laidback, but it’s not all about relaxation here. The hotel is part of an upscale demi-resort that includes a casino, an open-air rooftop Zuma restaurant, and Club Chinois, Ibiza’s slickest new nightspot. The latter two opened last year beneath the watchful eye of Island Hospitality (Mikasa, Beachouse, Finca La Plaza) and have become Ibiza’s see-and-be-seen hotspots, with the island’s ritzy international set tumbling from alfresco sushi suppers at Zuma directly to Club Chinois’s red velvet privé area. If the late nights take their toll (Lío, Pacha, and Roto are also on the doorstep), then lazy breakfasts fuelled by an omelet bar and pancake station will help, as will cryotherapy and oxygen treatments in the high-tech Open Spa." - Issy von Simson, Lauren Burvill

Ibiza Gran Hotel

"Why book? A seductively peaceful spot, the Ibiza Gran is a slice of laidback island life that’s deceptively close to the bustling town centre. Set the scene Something akin to Gatsby’s green light, rising above Dalt Vila(Ibiza's old town)—a giant flashing ‘C’ beckons party-goers and hedonistic thrill-seekers across the bay, announcing the hotel’s casino. But for those lucky enough to be staying here, the 'C' stands for much more. Creative interiors, calm atmosphere, classy restaurants, composed staff; all of these are de rigueur here. Despite being a 10-minute walk away from the old town’s nightlife hub, the hotel feels swathed in a blanket of peace. The backstory Committed to providing something different on an island with plenty of smart hotel options, Ibiza Gran is a grown-up, cultural refuge. Owned by a renowned hotelier clan across Spain, this is Ibiza's first art hotel. Inside, contemporary artists have created more than 400 bespoke works. In the lobby, Mallorcan artist Tomeu Ventayol's giant, cream oval contrasts with the lofty, square-shaped atrium. On the first floor, an installation of rope and stone by Toni Esteva was designed as an ode to the Mediterranean, and in our suite, a Rodin-esque bronze sculpture by Luis Martin Duque brings the art gallery feel into the bedroom. The rooms Eager to cater for every guest’s whim, the hotel has 12 different room configurations. The most basic option is a premium, set on the hotel’s first and second floors and looking out across Talamanca’s busy streets, with a king-size bed, rainfall shower and uber-deep bathtub. Those looking for private pools should book a superior suite, with indoor and outdoor whirlpool baths and a terrace looking out over the pool and garden. Or book one of the rooftop lofts for a sprawling space set across two floors, with two open-plan bedrooms, a living room, terrace, private heated hydro-massage swimming pool and sun deck with shady olive trees. Our favorite was the superior pool suite: not too big, not too small, set right on the hotel’s corner, so views across the harbor to Dalt Vila come uninterrupted from the private pool. Nightly rates start around $248. Food and drink: Breakfast? Breakfast is served in The Grand Breakfast, a shady garden restaurant with help-yourself spreads. The bread is baked each morning; every topping you could imagine is available to go on the made-to-order pancakes, and the chef at the omelette station remembers each guest by name and has individual orders on the go before you’ve even asked. The pool restaurant is for light (or not-so-light) lunches. Seafood is fresh from Ibiza’s harbor, with tapas-style suppers, salads, pizzas or Spanish and Mexican poolside classics—go for the guacamole and tortilla chips followed by the chicken quesadillas with melted cheese, peppers and crème fraiche. If you’re really hungry, opt for the catch of the day, salt-baked before being cracked and unveiled at your table. Food and drink: Dinner? The hotel’s magnum opus, however, is La Gaia. At the helm is chef Óscar Molina, who arrived in 2008, and has since been working tirelessly to transform La Gaia into Ibiza’s premier dining destination. In December 2021, his hard work paid off: the restaurant became the first and only hotel restaurant to be awarded a Michelin Star on the island. Seamlessly blending local Ibizan produce with traditional Japanese methods, Molina has named the restaurant’s concept ‘Mediterranean kaiseki’, designed to pay homage to Japan’s ancient culinary techniques. Choose between two tasting menus of eight or 12 courses. Every plate from the Posidonia 12-course menu is a work of art, almost (almost) stopping you from digging in. Stand-out courses include the oysters, cured in a tiger’s milk foam and served with pickled cubes of Granny Smith and jalapeño; a sweetly spiced pumpkin sabayon accompanied by thinly sliced Balearic black pork, and the caviar, which is served in a bowl of mustard-hued bone broth and seaweed. Head sommelier Vasili Abodzich is more than happy to explain each paired drink or advise on the best bottle to accompany the entire menu. The low-lit restaurant deserves a place on every foodie’s Ibizan hit list. The spa The Ibiza Gran spa is a tranquil sanitary. Hidden behind a cascading waterfall by the main pool, enter to find a Turkish bath-style layout. The hydrotherapy circuit has been carefully designed to be followed in a specific order, taking you from icy plunge pools to steaming hot tubs; aromatherapy steam rooms and whirlpool baths, each leaving you feeling purged, cleansed and fresh. Facials are designed by skincare expert Linda Meredith—try the Ayuna for a deeply spoiling treatment. The neighborhood Nearby Playa de Talamanca is a favorite beach among locals, where ramshackle seafood restaurants and classic Mediterranean beach clubs rub shoulders with the likes of Nobu Hotel Ibiza Bay. A few minutes' walk the other way from Ibiza Gran, Sir Joan is another recent opening, the latest intimate hotel from the Sir group with contemporary design, a green-fish-scale-tiled pool and a breezy terrace with Dalt Vila views. The old town is a 10-minute walk away, where you’ll find some of the island’s oldest, most revered restaurants and bars. Stop by Comidas Bar San Juan, a rough-around-the-edges family-run spot where staggeringly delicious dishes of seafood, steak and authentic Spanish stews come piled high and cost around $12. The service Behind-the-scenes magic. Someone is always on hand to help at the slightest hesitation, but without leaving you feeling monitored. Ask for suggestions on places to go nearby; most of the staff have lived on the island for years. Eco effort The hotel is doing a lot to help reduce its impact on the environment. The team has recently installed 370 solar panels on the hotel roof to reduce more than 100 tons of carbon dioxide each year. In rooms, bottled water has been replaced by Soul Water recyclable cans, while in the restaurant, one euro from each meal is donated to IbizaPreservation as part of a campaign to reduce the use of single-use plastic on the island. Accessibility for those with mobility impairments There are three dedicated rooms for those with disabilities. The showers have folding doors and chairs, and toilets have rails. The main swimming pool has a ramp for wheelchair users, and all the restaurants, bars, lounges and main public areas are on the ground floor and are wheelchair accessible. Anything left to mention? Spend time strolling through the hotel, admiring different artworks dotted around each floor. On the first floor, take a look at the mural Náufragos by American artist Nicholas Woods, a colorful masterpiece of coral, pink and green splashes, an ode to the underwater world just outside the hotel. Or stop by the first-floor library area, where a wide selection of art books and novels are available to borrow, and plenty of cosy armchairs are waiting for someone to curl up for an hour or two." - Olivia Morelli

We visit the Ibiza Gran hotel every year to celebrate my mum’s birthday! Each year the hotel becomes more magical. The atmosphere at the hotel is relaxing, very enjoyable and all of the employees are the hotel are lovely, generous and so understanding. The food at the hotel, particularly the breakfast and bar snacks, is delicious and very well executed. They celebrated my mum’s birthday with a delicious cake for breakfast and all of the breakfast staff turned up to sing happy birthday! The pools are kept really clean, the gym is up-to-date and high-tech. The hotel is in a fantastic location close to the Marina & Old Town, but there is plenty to enjoy at the hotel. I haven’t experienced the spa yet, but it looks really relaxing and offers very high-end treatments. The rooms are lovely, always very clean and equipped with the best amenities. Thank you so much to everyone at the hotel for making the experience so enjoyable for us year after year!

My recent stay at Ibiza Gran Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warmth and elegance. The suite was spacious, beautifully designed, and filled with natural light. Every detail felt thoughtful, and waking up to panoramic views of the sea and the marina made each morning feel like a dream. Breakfast truly stood out. Recently named the Best Hotel Breakfast in Spain and Portugal for 2024, it was a highlight of my stay. From the freshest local ingredients to the serene setting, it was the perfect start to each day. Throughout my stay, the level of service and attention to detail was consistently outstanding. Whether you’re visiting to relax or to explore the island, Ibiza Gran Hotel offers an experience that is both refined and unforgettable. I can’t wait to return.

We had a fantastic time at this marvellous hotel. Nothing was too much trouble. Friendly staff, full of local knowledge and genuinely wanting you to have a wonderful time. A special shout out to Jose at the poolside for his attention to detail, Louis head doorman who gave us lifts in the hotel Bentley! What a treat. Andrea at breakfast who gave us lots of tips for site seeing and like all the staff greeted us each morning with a warm smile. Sergio, the sales manager, made our trip one to remember with a lovely tour of the hotel with all of its art to admire and talk about. Thank you to all of the staff, you are lovely special people . |It was our first visit to Ibiza but not our last.

Loved this hotel. The location was good with either a 20 minute walk into Ibiza old town or a boat taxi costing 3.5 Euros return per person. Some restaurants & takeaways closeby & a supermarket across the road.||All the staff were very attentive & friendly, particularly the staff at breakfast who were so friendly & efficient. As for the breakfast, well, this was something else. Without doubt, the best & most relaxing breakfast we have ever had anywhere in the world. The spread was amazing & it was such a relaxing experience. We often sat for 2 hours just enjoying the food & the atmosphere. I would return to this hotel just for the breakfast & breakfast staff alone.||The pool staff at the adults pool were very attentive & helpful. Nothing was too much bother.||The only issue I had was my bill which I always pay for the night before I leave, in case there is an issue. The bill contained items which I did not have from the mini bar. The items were used by the previous occupant. I should have clocked this as the mini bar was being restocked as we took possession of the room. I think there is maybe a learning point here for the hotel's procedures so that this cannot happen again. Thankfully this was quickly cleared up by the gentleman at the reception that evening.||We had a Panoramic room on the 4th floor. The views over to the old town were fantastic.||Overall, a great holiday & will return to The Ibiza Gran on our next visit to Ibiza.

From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave the staff could not be more friendly and obliging. All the rooms have a great view so no room envy. The pools are very inviting and they have all the facilities you would need. The rooms are spotless, the bed was vast and housekeeping were wonderful. I kid you not when I say that the staff were the most completely wonderful set of hotel employees I have ever encountered. |However I need to mention the Breakfast - WOW!! From the moment you are greeted by the lovely Venezuelan Maître-D (whose name escaped me), you turn the corner and the beautiful spread that greets your eyes is something to behold. Then there's Shek who speaks six languages and entertains you at the omelette station. We were fabulously looked after by Glorjana, Sergio and Martia making sure we had a constant supply of tea and fresh cutlery as we worked our way from the Champagne and Oysters to the chocolate fondue via the omelette station and the most superb Iberian cold meats en-route. I could eulogise even more, however I suspect you have the picture! |As we said goodbye, Marcos appeared and whisked us to the airport in the Bentley - what a credit he is to the Ibiza Gran Hotel, but as I said before, all the staff are 5-Star .

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Our room was spacious and we had a great view from our balcony. The breakfast buffet is not to be missed. And the location of the hotel was perfect. The bell boy / valet team stood out the most. Exceptional service and so kind (Javier, Ivan, Roberto, Luis and Ramon) really took great care of us!! Can’t wait to stay here again!!

This hotel is stunning, elegant and a calming blend of serene luxury. I could live here all summer! ||The venue itself is beautiful and I loved the cerulean blue swimming pools , water therapy and rejuvenating spa facilities. The upper pool served incredible food and drinks on offer served by happy, easy-going wait staff (I wish I could name everyone because they were all wonderful, but especially Jose as he made me feel like a queen having a private experience). The super comfy bed felt like sleeping on a cloud, complimentary water and housekeeping twice a day, all exceptional! Plus, the art, gastronomic experiences and wine kept me experiencing all the hotel had to offer.||What made the hotel stand out at a level more than 5 stars were the staff. At every point I experienced consistent friendly professional level of service making my stay feel like I had a family on holiday. Anything I asked for was granted. The Musa, breakfast and reception team was above and beyond! Diego at Musa was super helpful with recommendations for tasting different items on the menu, every single team member at the main door and at breakfast each day. Also, thank you spa team, especially Laura, Alessandra and Pierro who were beauty rejuvenation experts. Thank you Alvaro, Liz and Ivan for checking-in on me and making me feel special. Quality, happy staff giving you royal treatment. Gran Hotel was a 10 star experience. Congratulations and see you again in September! I'm now a loyal, repeat customer :-)

Google
Our 'go-to' hotel when we can, it's difficult to book apart from directly with the hotel through June , July and August (which means the hotel cost is far higher per night and you also have to book your flights separately which adds more) so May is a great time to go as much quieter and you're more likely to get a room/flight combo via your chosen booking agent....(far easier when travelling with kids!)||We have been many times and always come back as the hotel is beautiful and the food and service excellent. The staff are great with the kids - special mention to Roberto who gave the kids balloons and lots of attention! The guys by the pool (two who were there each of our days but I didn't get their names ) were so helpful with us with towels and umbrellas , etc , etc. ||The food by the pool , whether at your sun lounger , or the poolside restaurant is very, very good. The pool side service staff are brilliant too (again better in May as we have been in the height of summer and it's obviously then very busy and the more 'VIP' guests tend to take more of the attention! ) ||In the room there is everything you need, so you can pack less! Hairdryer, toothbrush and toothpaste (travel size) , natural sponge, body wash, shampoo , conditioner, vanity kit, sewing kit, shoe horn/ polish, tissues, couple of cotton buds/pads, hand wash, body lotion, slippers, robe... |There is a little supermarket right across the street from the hotel, a pharmacy and the marina is a short walk away with lovely shops and places to eat. ||I love this hotel. Feels super relaxing and everything from the buffet breakfast to the milkshakes for the kids puts a smile on my face :) ||We will be back again soon (I hope!) Thank you to your hard working staff - it makes a big difference to me as a single parent travelling with two kids that we feel looked after and safe with people willing to help if we need anything.

Yelp
This is absolutely a 5 star hotel from the moment you enter the lobby. The hotel entrance is quite grand, smells great (is that a weird thing to point out?), and staff is super friendly and welcoming. They have a concierge desk where they help you plan out your entertainment, food, drink and whatever else you want to do on the island. The hotel has an open spa (gym, spa services, hair, nails, etc), two swimming pools (one adult only), and plenty of lawn chairs for sunbathing in the beautiful Ibiza sun. All the rooms are facing away from Pacha so you don't hear any of that club noise. But bonus is, if you want to hear what's happening at Pacha, it's literally across the street. All the rooms have beautiful sizeable balconies overlooking the pool. We were able to get one that overlooked the pool and had a great angle of Ibiza Cathedral and the rest of that part of town. We had a junior suite which had a queen sized bed, in room jacuzzi bath and separate toilet/shower set up. There is a small entry area that can be closed off to make sure you have a very quiet night/privacy. For those who like to sleep in, they come with blackout curtains. I didn't check out the casino, but looked like it was busy and popular. Overall, great spot to just relax and hang out by the pool OR have fun and party across the street at Pacha and sleep in all day. :)

Yelp
This place is amazing!! My husband and I visited Ibiza for our honey moon and had a great experience here. The staff is attentive and courteous! The breakfast is included and very very good! The rooms were clean, our view was amazing. Can't say enough great things! Loved it!!
