I am not happy with the room. It was so small without any fridge. We hardly had space to accommodate our stuffs there. The curtain was so thin and it could not block the sun light during summers. The positive points were it's location and the extraordinary staff. The hotel staff were so kind and nice. I don't recommend because of the poor room size and facilities inside room.

Positives: Charming hotel for a good price and really friendly staff. Fun happy hour in lobby. Comfortable bed. Good location near TorvehallerneKBH and Norreport station. Good Italian restaurant attached to hotel. Negatives: Shower doesn’t drain without getting rest of bathroom floor wet. Interesting layout. Our room had a beam that protruded and we bumped our heads several times, and it was a little stuffy.

What I liked: ✅ Perfect location just minutes on foot to multiple waterfront walkways, shops, restaurants, and a major public transit station. ✅ Though small, the room was designed well, providing spaces to place luggage and toiletries. ✅ I loved having the in-room water picture/boiler. It came in handy multiple times. ✅ A luggage room is available (with an efficient system in place) to drop off luggage should you arrive before check-in time. ✅ Handy electrical outlets available on both sides of the bed for charging devices. What could be better: ❌ No in-room refrigerator. ❌ No electricity outlet within handy reach at desk/workstation. In summary, this was probably the best room we had on a multi-city trip. I highly recommend and would likely look here first on a return trip.

Hotel was clean, had a very nice lobby with outdoor seating options to enjoy a drink at their daily "cozy hour" or a coffee. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Location was awesome. So easy to get to from CPH via metro and a quick 400 m walk from Norreport station. We could walk to every big attraction from the Ibsens Hotel. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Copenhagen.

Stayed here for a few nights and really enjoyed it. The hotel is stunning to look at, in a great location for the price with public transportation close by. The room I stayed in was one of the smaller options, but being in Copenhagen on vacation, I wasn't concerned since everything in the room worked and the bed was comfortable. They also had a little book shelf with some books in case you want to relax and read. Service at the front desk and at the breakfast was great. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. The metro to get to the airport and central train station is only a short walk away. Also, a decent amount of bus stops in the area, too. All and all Ibsens Hotel is worth it in my book. I would definitely stay here again on my next trip to Copenhagen.

Ibsens Hotel has a lot going for it. Friendly and helpful staff, a nice room, and the best hotel breakfast I think we've ever had. The Ibsen's location is ideal, an easy 5-minute walk from Nørreport Metro and Rail station, and close by the Botanical Gardens and city lakes. There are plenty of eating and drinking options nearby. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel has a cosy bar/lounge. Breakfast - a sumptuous and varied buffet, with plenty of veggie options, which will set you up for the day - is taken at the neighbouring Kong Arthur Hotel, a short walk across the courtyard at the rear of the hotel. Ibsens Hotel will definitely be our choice on our next Copenhagen visit.

All around a lovely experience! Not just a place to stay while you’re in Copenhagen but a home away from home. The rooms were quaint and we had a nice view of the courtyard. Each day they host a Cozy Hour for a free wine, beer or juice. The staff were extremely accommodating and had the best, local recommendations. If and when I return to Denmark, I will be staying here again. We’ve already grabbed a business card to share with our friends back in the states. Oh, and it’s in a wonderful location that made it easy to travel to and from each day.

I've felt at home in the Ibsen hotel. All the staff is really professional, super friendly and warm (from cleaning to reception to breakfast and the bar). The room was medium sized, it was simple but very comfortable. Good bed sheets, good pillows, nice bed ! We had everything we needed. Only little thing, we would have appreciated to have more furniture to put our clothes in. The breakfast is delicious and cozy hour is very much appreciated. Nice lounge with a little fireplace to hang out.

Yelp
If you're looking for a reasonably priced hotel in the heart of Copenhagen, the Ibsens Hotel is a good choice. The rooms are comfy, clean, and have plentiful plugs for your chargers...as well as a water boiler for our morning tea! The staff are friendly, professional, and helpful. The check-in was quick, and the downstairs lobby features a small bar and lounge. "Cozy Hour" (5p-6p daily) offers guests a free glass of wine, beer or juice and the chance to meet fellow travelers. The Hotel is in easy walking distance from most of Copenhagen's historic sites, restaurants, etc.

Yelp
A clean, friendly hotel in a fun part of town near the art museum and Rosenberg castle. Rooms are efficient, free wifi, with water boiler in room for tea. Pastries in the lobby look great, and there is free wine at 5 for guests.

Yelp
We spent 3 nights at Ibsens hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff are kind. The room we had was spacious with a rounded bay window space, beds for our 2 kids set up. The room was super clean. Each evening they offer cozy time- a drink in the lobby with the other guests. Would be happy to return!

Yelp
Nice and clean. Friendly staff. Centrally located. Our room, however, was hot and stuffy, possibly due to the fact that we were on the 6th floor. Overall, good experience.

Yelp
I've stayed at this hotel twice and at their counter part Kong Arthur once. It's not by choice as all three times were booked by our collaborators. The location is quite good, there's a cosy cafe bar across the road, it's a short walk to the Torvehallerne, a nice little indoor artisan food market, and the building also houses Sticks 'n' Sushi! The service at the hotel is okay. The staff speak English but they are too slow during check in and checkout times. On my latest visit, we were informed at check in that they were doing planned engineering works on their lift so we would have to take the stairs. There were many unhappy guests with large pieces of luggage and one who had mobility problems. The hotel should have put up a notice on their website! The rooms are not great. They're a bit tired looking, have creaky floorboards under their tired looking carpets. The furniture is very minimal and I think they're suited for business travellers on short stays only. Luckily this time, there was a small kettle with tea bags and instant coffee in my room! The bathroom is a wet room and it's not luxurious. I think so many other reviewers are disappointed because of how pricey this hotel is. It's true that the walls are thin and you can hear everything inside and outside the hotel, I'm afraid. As the hotel is in a building with Kong Arthur hotel, you can use the spa they have downstairs for an additional £15 a day. I did this the first time but it wasn't worth it so I've not gone again! The breakfast is not worth the money, unless you like a small yoghurt and granola, fresh fruit and a croissant ALOT. I would recommend going to pick up something from a bakery nearby or even at the Torvehallerne. The good thing is a Cosy Hour every day between 5pm-6pm, when guests will get a glass of wine and a nibble for free for guest to mingle, which is a great idea when you're travelling alone on business. Maybe you can find a friend who'll go to Stick 'n' Sushi with you?!

Yelp
This hotel deserves a better overall rating than 3.5 stars. It is nice for a European hotel. We got one of the bigger family rooms, and they brought in two roll aways (one for each of my kids). We had a top floor room, so didn't have to deal with listening to people above us. The only annoying thing was we were there in June and if we wanted to sleep with windows open, it would be extra bright in the room. Thankfully, there was a fan. Overall great stay. We skipped the breakfast and went to Kalaset which is right across the street. AMAZING food.

Yelp
This is a great hotel. We booked it on recommendation from Rick Steve's. I did notice in some reviews and online that the basic room is a little small, so we upgraded one level to a larger room. The room was spacious and perfect for two people for a couple nights. The place has been renovated which is great, but the bathrooms could use a little more sprucing up : ) Upon arriving, they gave us a recommendation to do the canal tours. It was a sunny day, and we had some coupons for it, so decided to go for it. It was amazing and I highly suggest everyone do that their first day in Copenhagen, great way to see the city. We did not do the breakfast there because it was a little pricey ($30 per person) but instead went to the market nearby. It is only 3 blocks away, and is a brand new gastro-market-pub-shopping-foodtruck bonanza called the "Torvehallerne". You can get great meals there for not too expensive, as well as everything else under the sun. Also, free happy hour at the hotel from 5 to 6pm. Its one drink, but drinks are $$$ here! Also, bike rentals was super easy, they have them available for around $40 for a whole day, they lock easily and another must do in Copenhagen. ***Pro tip, can't stress room upgrade enough. It was only a little more per night, but if you are from the U.S you will need the space.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I stayed here for four days. We loved how close Stroget and Norreport station was to the hotel. It was also a short walk to Torvehallerne food market which was incredibly convenient to grab a quick breakfast or lunch. We rented bikes (150dkk per person) for a few days and it was a fast and painless prpcedure, we got to see everything we wanted to see! The hotel breakfast (155dkk) was small and limited in variety but it was convenient! It included items like organic ham, hardboiled eggs, assortment of bread, yogurt parfaits, rhubarb drink, and tea. The room itself was smaller in size and was generally hard to maneuver (stubbed my toe a lot). However, the bed was very comfortable and everything was really clean. The staff was generally accomodating and brought everything we needed and helped a lot with directions and suggestions! We would definitely stay at Ibsens again because of its location and minimalist charm.

Yelp
The staff here is super nice and accommodating and the hotel is in a very nice area. And that's about all I can say that's nice about this place... The rooms are SUPER small. The beds SUCK big time. The bathroom is really a small wet room. The TV remotes will probably have dead batteries. And there might be bugs in your room. We were there for 3 days and moved rooms 4 times. And I hate to complain, but this place just sucked. After the second night I was thinking about moving hotels. They offer "free wi-fi", but what they don't tell you is it's limited, so it has the speed of a 28.8k modem. If you want real internet you need to pay another 50 DKK a day. Their 150DKK a day breakfast, while tasty, wasn't nearly worth it. You get a pre-made cold sandwich, a few tiny yogurts and fruit cups, and some juice. Want coffee? That's an extra 35DKK. Rather then ramble on, just take my word for it and don't stay here. For the same prices there are many other better hotels in the area. I really feel bad for the people who work there, they must put up with a lot.

Yelp
I've stayed here twice now. I like the decor in the hotel, quirky and modern. The first time I stayed here, I did an upgrade and got a really large room with a window and juliet balcony facing the courtyard. The second time, I booked a large room for my mother and sister and a small room for myself. Both rooms faced the street. The staff is quite helpful and they remembered when I mentioned my birthday. I received a cute little packet of summerbird chocolates and a handwritten note. The location is good and I would definitely stay here again. The bathroom is a bit on the small side though...

Yelp
The location couldn't have been more convenient for us. We loved the easy one block walk to a huge indoor market for meals. The breakfast was not really filling, but everything there was delicious and of great quality. Gluten free options are advertised, but limited. I loved the character of the hotel and particularly of our rooms. One instance of that character causing problems, however, was when we got stuck in the tiny elevator with other guests. The capacity limit was posted on a small card inside the elevator, without any warning or clear sign outside. We exceeded the capacity and we're stuck for about 12 minutes. The man who let us out was unapologetic. Heads up, no AC. We had no issues in the middle of the summer, but in case that's a problem for you, be warned. Except for that one elevator event, we had a really great stay!

Yelp
The staff is friendly and we enjoyed drinks that were offered during "cosy" hour. The room was clean and the bed comfortable but the room was small. Very small. I did not know how to open my suitcase or where to put things. And then there was the bathroom. The bathroom was tiny. Shower and toilet were combined and taking a shower was a horrible experience. The plastic shower curtain clung to my body as it had to the bodies of numerous previous guests. The best thing about this hotel is the excellent breakfast. For anyone who likes European bread and organic cheese, meat and jams, this is the best.

Yelp
I booked stays at the Ibsens. The stay has an interrupted component. When booking with points, I inadvertently entered 4/3 instead of 5/3...the first stay. When I saw the error I had the points company call the hotel. They refused to make the change, even with months notice. Further, they have open rooms for that time. I hate to stay there the second phase. I have a very, very low opinion of the hotel.

Yelp
Danish Modern chairs in the top floor dormer windowed room. Very basic and nice. Great price given the super neighborhood. The excellent food mall. Norreport station. The hipster Norreboro district is just across the bridge. Take a jog around the canal, where the locals stroll and run. Just awesome.

Yelp
Buyer beware! My husband and I booked the hotel in March, in May I was diagnosed with Stage 3 endometrial cancer requiring surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatments for 6 months, which meant we had to cancel our trip. We had booked an extensive vacation throughout Scandinavia, and all the hotels we booked through US vendors (e.g. American Express Travel, Expedia) offered exemplary customer service and refunded all our hotel expenses, even without a Physician's Statement. We booked the Ibsen's through their website and when I asked the hotel if they would cancel our reservation and grant us a refund for extenuating medical circumstances, my request was declined. Even when I offered a Physician's Statement, the reason for the decline was because we had booked the non-refundable rate. I was told I should have booked the refundable rate, to which I responded "Had I known I was going to be diagnosed with cancer I would have". Thankfully we have travel insurance, but what a disappointment about Ibsen's staff's unwillingness to bend the rules for certain circumstances.

Yelp
Our first time at the Ibsen and will come back here anytime we return to Copenhagen. Great location, cool reception, and great lounge and restaurant. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. Very reasonable rates for all you get. Not a super fancy huge hotel, but if you like the small independent family run place oozing with charm and professionally done, like we do, then this is the place for you.
