The 20 Best Things to Do in Bangkok

"If this is your first foray into Asia, you’ll quickly learn that malls are a thing—and ICONSIAM is the mall to end them all. This luxury development in Bangkok includes eight stories showcasing 7,000 brands, more than 100 restaurants, a subterranean floating market, an IMAX theatre, SkyPark, two swish residential towers and much, much more. You could quite literally spend an entire day here. Definitely go in with a game plan. With more than eight million square feet to get lost in, it’s easy to waste precious vacation time here. Skip the brands you can find at home and target the Thai craft areas as well as the must-visit floating market (SOOKSIAM). Also, stop into Takashimaya, a famous Japanese department store, and the only one in Thailand." - Diana Hubbell, Katie Lockhart

What a great shopping centre! Mainly for the food on the ground level and you will understand if you visit why. Endless selections of cooked foods and all seemingly at a high quality. There is a great atmosphere in this whole area but if you explore further there is at least 8 or 9 levels with lots of shops and places to eat and drink. There is also a terrace to get a great view of the city! Definitely worth a visit.

🛍️ Impressive but Pricey This mall definitely lives up to the hype. It’s sleek, high-end, and packed with luxury name brands. The views of Bangkok from here are absolutely stunning, and there are a few solid stores worth checking out. That said, the overall vibe caters more to tourists and high spenders. Most shops are overpriced, and it feels like a curated experience for those seeking American-style retail with upscale international labels. Will I be back? Honestly, probably not. It’s a great visit once, but not ideal unless you’re ready to splurge.

This shopping mall is one of the most luxurious and spacious malls I’ve ever been to. The architecture and interior design are modern, elegant, and very well-maintained, making the entire atmosphere feel upscale and comfortable at the same time. One of the highlights for me is the incredible variety of food options. Whether you’re in the mood for international cuisine, local dishes, fast food, or gourmet dining, there’s something for everyone. There are countless restaurants and cafés to explore, so you’ll never run out of new places to try. I especially enjoy bringing my mom here—we always find a cozy spot to enjoy a good meal together. In terms of shopping, the mall features almost every major brand you can think of—from high-end luxury labels to popular international and local names. Whether you’re shopping for fashion, electronics, beauty products, or lifestyle items, you’ll find everything in one place. The store layout is easy to navigate, and the staff are usually very helpful and friendly. Overall, this mall is a great place not just for shopping, but for spending quality time with family or friends. Whether you’re here for a quick meal, a full day of shopping, or just to walk around and relax in a nice environment, it truly has something for everyone.💯🥰

ICONSIAM is a massive, upscale shopping mall on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, often called "The Mother of All Malls" in Thailand. With over 525,000 square meters of retail space, it combines luxury shopping, culture, entertainment, and Thai heritage in one striking location. The architecture blends modern design with Thai cultural elements. The building is inspired by a traditional krathong (lotus-shaped floating lantern), creating a visually stunning riverside structure. Inside, it’s a fusion of elegance and tradition, with grand atriums, luxurious decor, and even a replica indoor floating market, making it feel more like a cultural museum than just a mall. With 500+ stores, ICONSIAM offers everything from affordable fashion like Uniqlo and H&M to top-tier luxury brands like Louis Vuitton, Hermès, and Dior. Check my photos for store locations. It features Thailand’s first Apple Store, yep the 1st, with a panoramic glass design facing the river, and the Japanese department store Takashimaya with unique Japanese products. There's also a floor dedicated to Thai artisans and local crafts, showcasing handcrafted goods, fine jewelry, and regional souvenirs. Sook Siam (at the basement level), Spiders for lunch!! recreates an indoor floating market, where you can sample traditional dishes from all over Thailand in a cool, comfortable setting. There are dozens of eateries, ranging from high-end restaurants to street-food-style vendors. The Veranda and Alangkarn offer garden-inspired dining experiences. On the top levels, there are open-air bars like Tasana Nakorn with river views and live music. Highlights include Thai BBQ, giant river prawns, vegan options, and international cuisines like Japanese, Korean, and Italian. ICONSIAM also has the nightly dancing fountain show along the river promenade draws large crowds. There’s also a luxury cinema, art galleries, and scenic boat rides that dock at the mall’s private pier. OVERALL MOSSIMO DOG review...... Stunning riverside location with beautiful views.  Can feel overwhelming due to its sheer size and layout Wide range of shops from luxury to local. Can get crowded, especially on weekends Unique cultural features like the floating market and MUSEUM. Some dining options are pricey, like New York pricey! Easy access via boat, shuttle, or BTS Gold Line Navigation inside can be confusing for first-timers ICONSIAM is more than a mall — it’s a destination. Whether you're into shopping, food, culture, or just want a great spot to relax by the river, it delivers a high-end, memorable Bangkok experience. A must-visit for tourists and locals alike. MOSSIMO DOG 😎 4/5 Awesome but maybe too awesome.

An exceptional mall! I think it's the most beautiful mall I've visited (I've seen all the famous malls in Dubai, Istanbul, Westfield in London, etc.). Exceptional architecture, exceptional interior decorations, exceptional food courts, wonderful. I would stay here for a few days!

This is possible one of the largest, most luxurious, and well designed malls in the World. It has spectacular interiors and is located on the riverside with multiple access points on expansive terraces are a delight with great views to hang out/eat etc The amenities are a delight for visitors with truly sophisticated and luxurious restrooms in plenty. Plenty of dining options from street food stalls to fine dining spread across each floor. All major brands are featured here and so it's a good place to shop till you drop. A complete destination for a tourist...enjoy!
