Ida beach

Beautiful beach. The coral reef was beautiful for snorkeling. Please refrain from using solar UV cream for their preservation 🙏 It was paradise!!

It's worth a visit to this beach. When I went it was quiet and peaceful with about 7 people on the beach in total. There are five ferries a day from Shirahama Port (at the end of road 215 on Iriomote, the only main road!). The current timetable is attached but you can check the times by plotting the route on Google maps (we found that easier than trying to find a schedule in English online). We drove to the ferry port but there were buses as well. Once you arrive at Funauki port it's a short walk to the beach which is signposted. The beach was beautiful, even on a slightly cloudy day like we had. The snorkelling was pretty good too - it stays quite shallow a long way out and we found the best snorkelling was a little further from the beach. We never went out of depth though. A lot of dead coral but we found a lot of living corals too and lots of fish.

Spectacular location, few people in February-so worth the journey and taking the time to explore beyond the beach

Very nice quiet beach! You have to walk 15-20 min in the forest from the ferry, but it’s worth it if you like hidden beaches!

Very nice beach. We saw 2 turtles, however the coral reefs are completely dead and bleached except for some group of rocks you need to look for.

I loved this beach. I snorkelled there for hours on end.

What a nice surprise to find this beautiful beach at the farthest point we went to in Iriomote. No infrastructure, just nature. Nice white sand beach and pristine clam sea. I only wished I could have spent longer here as we had to leave due to the boat schedule. Looking forward to visit Ida Beach in the summer.

Amazing beach! No people, no trash, crystal clear water!! We saw turtles there at low tide too :)
