Idle & Wild

Really relaxed place. Great service. Ask for the bird spotting tour if you're interested! For the rest, the owners are super laid backed. Really a rest camp in between some game drives or to rest after the game drives. Awesome place and would highly recommend it!

We returned to Idle and Wild after our first stay 25 years ago. A few changes in that time, there were only two rondavels then and it was a mango farm and later to be a macadamia farm. ||Again we weren’t disappointed. We stayed for three nights in the honeymoon’ rondavel and ate breakfast on the veranda of the main house. Our hosts couldn’t have made us more welcome. Thank you Darryl and Connie

Lovely chalets with a wonderful atmosphere! Has air conditioners and heated blankets so whatever the weather you’ll be happy! The beds are very comfy and bathrooms in wonderful condition! Very nice thatch roofs that give a wonderful atmosphere! Lovely staff and pets! The breakfast is amazing and all you could ask for!

This is a fabulous place to stay. Welcoming with one of the best breakfasts I had in South Africa and a lovely surrounding with a beautiful garden.

Such a lovely and peaceful property. We stayed just one night but would have loved to stay longer. Thinnus was an excellent host and provided great tips for our drive along the Panorama Route. The cottage and the Honeymoon Rondavel were very comfortable. We look forward to our next stay!

Very nice quiet place on the edge of hazy view. Rooms were nice and comfortable for the price. Breakfast was very nice on the terrace and the owner gave us great advice to help us make the most of our time. Children were disappointed by lack of WiFi in rooms but it worked well near reception.

The staff is very friendly and the breakfast was great. Also the room was perfect with a nice bath. The location is wonderful. A lot of things to do in this area.

We stayed in the cottage ( adjacent to main house but with own private garden and entrance) , all perfect for us with our grandson. The next morning we decided to have the breakfast and what a lovely presented breakfast it was, surrounded by the beautiful gardens and birdlife all around.
