We had a wonderful dining experience at Idlewyld Restaurant. My wife and I celebrated our birthdays there last night, and everything exceeded our expectations. We eat vegan and gluten-free, and the kitchen accommodated our dietary needs with ease and genuine care. Chef Trevor personally prepared custom dishes for us, and every plate was excellent—thoughtful, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We especially loved the baby beet salad, which was made vegan for us—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly executed. The soup of the day, a Cajun sweet potato soup, was wonderful: rich, creamy, and beautifully aromatic. For dessert, we tried the new vegan panna cotta, and it was absolutely to die for—a standout dish and an exciting new addition to the menu. Our waiter, Kasha, provided impeccable service: warm, attentive, and professional without being intrusive. The overall atmosphere made the evening feel truly special and celebratory. Highly recommended for anyone looking for outstanding food, exceptional service, and a restaurant that truly cares about dietary needs while delivering a top-tier culinary experience.

Incredible service and the most beautiful historic home in London. The staff are so accommodating and lovely! Have dined numerous times over the years and have always had the best experience. Today, we were taken care of by our server Sue who went above and beyond (and even offered to take my photo) 10/10 every visit!

We hosted our company Christmas party at the Idlewyld last night for a group of 35 and it was exceptional from start to finish. The planning process was seamless — Effie made organizing the event incredibly easy and stress-free. The staff working the evening were outstanding: attentive, professional, and genuinely warm. The service alone would have made the night a success. The cocktails were fun and creative, the food was delicious with very generous portions, and the room was absolutely beautiful. Every detail felt thoughtfully done and elevated. This was hands-down the best Christmas party we’ve had in years. We couldn’t recommend this venue more highly and will absolutely be back for future events.

We had our wedding at the Idlewyld Inn & Spa this past November. The venue itself is very beautiful. The architecture makes for some beautiful photos, which I will cherish. The food is amazing! You will not walk away with an empty stomach. We enjoyed a nice tasting of the menu and our server was very kind and informative. Our wedding meal on the day of was equally as good as the tasting. We enjoyed the space provided and had a good time celebrating with our friends and family. The servers present for the day of the event and those who helped to set up for our event were beyond lovely- going the extra mile to help us out! Christine, the newly hired wedding planner, made me feel confident knowing that the Christmas decorations would be removed for my event. We as a couple felt that the venue missed the mark on a couple of things. Firstly, communication with wedding coordinator Effie was a disappointment at times. I felt we had to ask a lot of questions to get the information that we wanted and that even the answers received were not as informative as they could be. I had missed calls from the venue with no voicemails being left or follow up emails provided which felt unprofessional. There were two occasions where the venue itself had processing payment issues. The first instance the venue had made me feel like I was at fault for the issue, which was an unfortunate experience. Leading into the wedding, the spaces felt overbooked leading to very late night or day of decorating depending on the room. We reviewed the ceremony 48 hours prior and answered the questions accordingly. The day of, the music for my ceremony was played incorrectly by the guidance of staff there. There was a culmination of a few instances that made me feel like the sparkle of my event was lessened. All this to say, the venue is gorgeous, the food is spectacular, and most of the staff felt like they genuinely wanted to be there to help. However, the difficulty with communication at times and unclear information from the venue left a sour taste.

My daughters and I went for Spa treatment. We appreciate that they honoured our gift cards that were almost 4 years old. Thank you! The girls had a Rosemary and Mint massage. I had a shellac manicure. Debbie did a great job. Very friendly and nice to chat with. I would recommend this spa without hesitation.

We really enjoyed a cozy family holiday breakfast at the Idlewyld Hotel. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome, and the charm of this beautiful historic place made the morning feel extra special. A warm experience we’ll remember and happily repeat.

We arrived and were greeted with the utmost courtesy, setting the tone for our stay. The room was cozy, charming, and offered a lovely view of the outdoor terrace. Due to the high demand, we were kindly offered a restaurant reservation, which we gladly accepted.||As an early riser, I was especially touched when John at the front desk came over to check on me at 5 a.m. and offered me a coffee. The following morning, as the team was setting up for breakfast, our server recognized me, remembered exactly how I liked my coffee, and brought it over without me even asking—such thoughtful service made a lasting impression.||Breakfast itself was delightful, and the service throughout was exceptional. Dinner, however, was the real highlight—the chef is truly outstanding. I highly recommend experiencing the Sunday Brunch as well; my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it will certainly be on our list the next time we visit.||In short: cozy, charming, and romantic. This Inn is a gem, and we can’t wait to return.

Yelp
Came back for Christmas Day dinner and really wish I hadn't. It was buffet style although nowhere on the website menu did it say this. When I expressed surprise, the waitress informed me that it's always a buffet and people just know. I'm from out of town and they knew this when they took the booking, so just tell me. We were immediately seated in the 'wine cellar' not the main restaurant. This was down a flight of stairs which I hadn't been informed of. One of our party has mobility issues, so it wasn't a great start. The 'wine cellar' is basically an empty room that I imagine you hire for private parties, very basic with cheap tables, chairs and black tablecloths (not very festive). We were in this room with a large family group with young children and the kids were noisy and touching everything on the buffet table. One group of 3 older adults just left. We stuck it out with one other table of adults and that family. The food was just ok, but as is often the case with buffets, the hot food was at best warm. The mash potatoes and vegetables were borderline cold and utterly unseasoned. The salmon was overcooked and the beef was 'ok'. Desserts were Costco standard and the kids had already attacked them before anyone else even looked at them. This was a complete, dishonest money grab and it's had left a very sour taste literally and metaphorically. I very much liked the restaurant on my last visit, but this felt grubby and mercenary which means I doubt I'll eat there again.

Yelp
A great experience! So I happened upon this hotel in a search for places to stay travelling on business and I'm so happy that I did... A mix of the past with a touch of the new... a beautiful mansion turned into a beautiful hotel keeping the warmth of the beautiful wood but updated with modern amenities for your convenience... walking through the front door you can feel the history and can't help but instantly admire and respect the craftsmanship in every detail that was put into the railings, the stained glass and the textures and colours of the walls. A friendly greeting and pleasant experience at the front desk you are given a room key... Yes an actual room key... That opens the door to an outstanding room with all the same class and elegance of the lobby but with an updated bathroom, a king size bed and all the conveniences of a new hotel from the flatscreen TV to the mini fridge in the desk and an Nespresso machine for your morning or evening espresso... whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner you're looking for, you need not leave the hotel, the House restaurant is every bit as elegant as the rest of the hotel with great service, a classy ambiance and excellent chef driven cuisine... You will not be disappointed!! This was an experience... A wonderful experience... That was brought to life not only by the hotel itself but by the wonderful staff that take pride in what they are involved in and reminding me of what service really is....or....what it used to be! Thank you so much to all the staff and I look forward to my return! Zeke

Yelp
Came for to spend a night. Everything is a top notch from the staff who are very friendly, rooms are clean, neatly renovated washroom, location, and delicious food. I sleep like a baby in a firm king size bed. There was a wedding going on and a b-day party located at the courtyard.

Yelp
I'm giving this wonderful spa 5 stars but Am worried that everybody else will discover it. I want to keep it all to myself! The rooms are nicely furnished: two beds, spacious, and a large bathroom. Dinner downstairs on the patio was refreshing with reverse osmosis water. Breakfast was included with the price for the room serving coffee, orange juice eggs and much more! I could keep on writing this review for days. The service, the food, the rooms, were all excellent quality and value for the price.

Yelp
This is a really nice, quaint, B&B-like hotel in London, Ontario. Its decor is classic and classically Canadian. The service was friendly and helpful. I also ate at the restaurant with a group, and it was a fantastic meal. I suppose the only downside is the lack of a fitness centre, however it was nicer to run outside (which wouldn't be possible in the winter). However, if you're looking for a nice spa and hotel for a weekend getaway, this is a great little spot!

Yelp
This is a review of the spa services at the Inn; I have not yet had the pleasure of staying here. The spa itself is quite small and intimate, but it's still a beautiful space and I absolutely love their products. I had a relaxing massage and the therapist was excelling; asking me for feedback enough to personalize the service without being overly chatty. It really does feel like an escape from the hustle and bustle, even though it's only a few minutes from downtown and major streets. I plan to return here and stay at the inn as well!

Yelp
This is a review of the restaurant. Great food and great service! We came here for Londonlicious for the first time, and it was great! Nothing short from places we have tried in Toronto. Portion is big for ladies and server accomodated all our special requests. Drinks were great too! Loved the deco as well. We can stay and chit chatting for hours. Will definitely return in the future.

Yelp
This is a review of the restaurant at the Inn. To preface the review of the restaurant, I must say that the parking situation is terrible; if you don't obtain a spot at the front of the building, your only options are parking in very tight diagonal parking at the side, and a very small and awkward parking lot in the back. Unfortunately I had to park in one of the diagonal parking spots with a large sedan, and it took me 15 mins to try to exit, maneuvering my way around cars that had been parked in 'no parking zones,' as a result of lack of parking. The building itself is quite beautiful and historic, and as I am from this area originally, I'm surprised that I hadn't heard about it previously. Moving on to the dinner, we were seated in the main dining room for a business dinner that began at 6:30pm. We were greeted by the staff who were very pleasant, and offered beverages. We were seated and as we had an agenda to get through, asked for our orders to be taken immediately after being seated, which was at 7pm. We had one server for over 20 people, which was clearly not enough, and we actually had additional individuals show up later. Our appetizers took quite a bit of time to come out, almost 45 mins. We were given bread before that time, although immediately preceding the appetizers. We were offered the restaurant's dinner menu, and I opted for the tomato stewed octopus. I must say, that it was the most unsightly food dish I've ever been served and I was actually taken aback. I wish I could provide you with a photo. It was a big brown, disorganized heap. Furthermore, the taste was incredibly unappealing. The dish is described as 'Tomato Stewed Octopus with Fava bean puree, eggplant caponata, blistered cherry tomatoes, and caper berries.' It was bitter, mixed with an odd citric flavor from caper berries, bland beans, and really unappetizing octopus. I could not take more than a few bites of the dish. Unfortunately there was quite a time lag between the appetizer and main dish, and as we had already finished our meeting by 8pm, everyone was ready to leave rather than wait for the entrees. I had the 'Pan Seared Halibut with Beet & almond risotto, goats' cheese mousse, shaved asparagus; preserved lemon mascarpone cream sauce & basil oil.' Overall, it was bland at best. The presentation was quite nice due to the shaved asparagus. After I left, it took me over 15 mins to exit the parking lot due to the aforementioned parking issues. Overall, the staff were quite pleasant, although 1 server for more than 2 attendees is unreasonable for those attending, and for the server. In regards to the food quality, I was not impressed overall, especially given the prices.

Yelp
This place is very nice. For dinner I for sure recommend, but to stay that's a little iffy. Half of the night and very early in the morning (around 9pm-1am and 5am-9am) you can hear the people downstairs getting ready to make breakfast or finishing cleaning up after dinner. And you can hear every step they make when upstairs too. It's loud thumping sounds, i Couldn't sleep well and it also woke me up too around 5am Although the food is good, it is arranged in a odd way, where you have to pass people trying to do check in and do coat hanging while you have a plate of food in your hand. If it wasn't for those things I'd give it a 5 for sure

Yelp
I have been staying in B&Bs for many years now. This one is as good as it gets. And the restaurant also gets 5 stars. The overall experience was grand, with great service, wonderful ambiance all found within the walls of a grand old home built in the late 1800's. Even the wireless connection was super strong and flawless. Located on beautiful grounds you will not be disappointed here. The most important thing, the beds and pillows, are right up there, but not quite as good as, the Ritz.

Yelp
Best Reuben ever!!! I've had a lot of Reubens, and this beat them all. The bread was perfectly crispy, the corned beef was tender, the sauerkraut was a perfect mild counter to the greasy goodness of the bread and beef. The Caesar salad appetizer was also excellent.

Yelp
My wife and I were looking for an escape away from holidays chaos and through a Priceline deal, we went here. It met the quiet expectations (somewhat) that we were seeking. However as an older building, we could hear all conversations taking place in the hallway. We had lunch in the restaurant and the service and food were both excellent. My issue overall, and the reason for the low rating, is that as a place purporting to be high end, there should not be spelling mistakes on the restaurant menu. Pinot Noir is a grape varietal. Pino noir is probably a great guy, but I can't say for sure.

Yelp
Came to the restaurant at Idlewyld tonight. From the moment we walked in, we were treated like respected and valuable guests. The service remained SUPERB throughout the dinner, while the food was excellent as well. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
Restaurant review: We had a terrific meal. Delicious tomato soup, stunning goat cheese and beet salad, and an absolutely amazing pork tenderloin with mustard spaetzel, sauerkraut and cabbage. Highly recommend saving up a few pennies and having a meal at the Idlewyld.

Yelp
What a wonderful place for a romantic getaway to a girls weekend. The staff was great and the room and service was four star quality. So quaint but classy. We will return!!

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience at this little gem we found on our travel to Canada recently. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The included breakfast was excellent and the staff was more than willing to show us parts of the historic house and give us the history. We were able to walk a short distance to Wortley Village for dinner. We very much enjoyed our stay at the Idlewyld and look forward to our next stay there.

Yelp
Had an absolutely amazing experience ! Everyone is so nice even though we were late. Never been treated so well at any restaurant before . Will definitely be making it a go to outing!!
