I needed a place to stay for a night in Røros, and found the Idrettsparken Hotel. My first choice, the Bergstaden, had went bankrupt the day before. The Idrettsparken (The Sports Park) are as the name says, situated in the sports park surrounded by several training fields and a small football arena. They also run a camping site and rent cabins. Location is verye quiet at night, with good parking space and good possibilites for jogging or walking (or bicycling as I did) along nice paths. Distance to town center are 5 min easy walking, 3 if you find the short-cuts. Rooms are small with a tiny bath-room. I had a double as single, and that made it big enough. Good basic breakfast. I spotted a bar, but did not try it. Free wi-fi which worked excellent. ||When in Røros avoid parking in streets, the charge is high and the fine for violating are huge (300 NOK). Free parking at the museums parking.
