Little museum with Cephalonia heirlooms and a history of money-making. As such it wouldn't draw crowds, but their exhibition about the 1953 earthquake is a must if you want to understand anything about the Ionian islands before and after 1953. Personally, I was looking for information and found very little online about this disaster and its social and economic consequences. At last, the poignant short documentary presented based on eyewitness account made me realize the extent of the destruction. Recommended for history lovers.

The documentary on the earthquake and exhibition really made this museum. It was fascinating film showing the devastating effect, which is hard to imagine looking at city today.

Not a very big museum but very friendly, informative staff. The film on the 1953 earthquake was very moving.

Museo storico-artistico con esposte alcune vedute ottocentesche delle isole ionie, alcuni costumi tipici, una raccolta di monete e la documentazione foto e video del terribile terremoto del 1953 che devastò l'isola. Interessante ma avrebbe bisogno di una "rinfrescata", soprattutto dal punto di vista didattico. Si entra con lo stesso biglietto del giardino botanico
