This is the most touristic grocery in town, simply because the item choices that they sell are incredible. You can find a variety of cheeses, bread, and some local sourdough. It's not too big or too small, just the right size to navigate through things. The price is more expensive compared to other cities in Alberta. It has a good location and is within walking distance of hotels and hostels.

One of the main grocery store at Banff, just like other grocery store it’s well sized with bright interior, with wide selection of veggies, foods, snacks and other household items. It’s well priced and you can use and collect scene points here. It’s good for traveller who didn’t bring some items you can find it here. Located near several hotels and resorts and near bus stop. Parking is easy in front of the store.

It's a good restaurant. Delicious food. Professional service. We were satisfied with visiting this restaurant.

Grocery store with pretty much all your basics. Hours were good. Just remember to bring shopping bags. Another thing I noticed when I checked my receipt was any bottles you buy are subject to deposit so return them to get money back.

BEWARE for anyone with dietary restrictions, do not eat in the hot food section. The staff in the hot food section do not care about cross-contamination whether it comes to the fryers, the ovens or the counters, they are not separating any of the meats, cheeses or other food they handle. They are incredibly rude and dismissive when you bring it to their attention, regardless of the fact that their food handling and sanitization is so far beyond disgusting I have no words for it. It is not a one-time occurrence either, it is their standard of practice day-to-day. The cashiers are very helpful, but they can only do so much. There is no care for the food because they know if you don't eat it, someone else who doesn't know better or doesn't care will. They know your options are extremely limited in this town and they take advantage of the monopoly they have. Super gross. Bring your own food to Banff, or stop in Canmore before you make it here and have no other options.

We had a disappointing experience at the checkout. My husband and I were helping bag our own groceries, not because it was our job, but to be helpful and speed things up. Instead of appreciation, the cashier seemed frustrated and kept shoving items toward us, clearly annoyed that we weren’t moving fast enough. Before we could finish bagging, she pointed toward the exit without a word and immediately began ringing up the next person. We had to leave with unbagged groceries in our arms. It felt rushed, unprofessional, and disrespectful. We were trying to help, not be treated like an inconvenience.

We were there with a campervan, there were many vans and pick up trucks there, bigger than our vehicle, yet we could not park there. I’ve had my 7 month old baby with me and the rain was pouring. We needed to park on the street and we get really wet on the way into the store. I know the rules but I also know kindness.

Yelp
This store was a big help while I was staying in Banff. I bought a drink, salad, snack, and pre-made sandwich for the long road trip. When I compared the prices in Vancouver, actually the Banff price was not so high. Almost same in Vancouver. The store is located just behind of public transit hub. There is no big sign, but you will see two big red chairs in the front. Cashier Randy was very very well mannered and so impressed with his attitude. Inside of store at 6pm is chaotic.

Yelp
This IGA is a good option if you are staying in Banff and need some snacks for the day. It's also the only one around so it's all you've got for this small touristy town. It's not especially well stocked or full or even all that large, but the basics are here and you can grab some drinks, snack bars, and a sandwich or two to take with you. We showed up fairly early in the morning when it wasn't busy save for the random other hikers we saw stocking up inside. We grabbed two turkey sandwiches pre-made from their cooler as well as a few snack bars and drinks. The sandwiches, mine was turkey and havarti on white bread, were actually very very good and fair priced at around $7. Much less than some of the other "bougie" shops nearby. Parking is strict - make sure you are a customer here and don't park and walk off - signs are everywhere and they will tow you.

Yelp
Good local store, with parking. Small so not always either the best selection or options. Meats were almost at sell by date for both chicken and hamburger on a Sunday - didn't have a lot of choice as a result. Drink section a bit lacking. Friendly staff. Don't forget to bring your reusable bags.

Yelp
this was the only grocery store in the entire town of banff that we could find. it's nice if you need last minute stuff that you can't bring through customs or whatever but so incredibly overpriced. it's a equivalent to Safeway in the United States like everything is literally the same but it's so interesting because a little thing of fruit where I am from is probably only four dollars max and here it was nine!! Service was fast for checking it out and stuff but sheesh groceries here are way too much money.

Yelp
Walked through here to take a look for some items, picked up two apples and a box of Panache chocolate crackers. We went to one checkout and the lady told us she didn't have enough 20's (we gave her a 100) which was unexpected - how can a supermarket not have 4 20's in the cash registry? We went to another checkout line afterward and didn't have any issues there. Pretty small supermarket with okay prices.

Yelp
For some reason this grocery store isle is super narrow. Lots of people and it seems like I have to walk carefully in case knocking things over. Prices are ok. It is located inside Banff, a tourist part of Banff. Parking is available in front. It has everything you expect at IGA. If you have never been to one, its the same as Safeway etc.

Yelp
Great local grocery store where you can pick up whatever you need during your stay in Banff. It is a little off of Banff Ave. and pretty central to the hotels in the area- this means it is within walking distance to most hotels. The prices are a little high but it is expected since it's a tourist town. The store itself is a little dark but most Safeways and Vons are dark. This seems like it is a Safeway branded store because they had Safeway stuff. We were able to get some croissants and muffins for our week-long trip in Banff for breakfast so that we didn't have to purchase breakfast outside of our hotel. There's lot of parking in front of the store so if you have a car, it would be super easy to find a spot!

Yelp
Busy place with limited parking. No alcohol. Shelves were almost empty. Deli selections were limited. Fruit was not so good.

Yelp
For your sake, I hope you brought everything you need with you to Banff. If not, you have IGA to rely on. And that's not a great thing at all. Bare bones selection of goods and picked through foods like there was a natural disaster and all that was left behind was Lady Speed Stick. How one of the only real grocery stores in this town was lacking such basics is beyond me, but hopefully once the season kicks into high gear, they'll get their act together.

Yelp
Came here on October 2nd around 10 AM. It's very similar to Safeway but smaller version store. The prices are comparable to Safeway as well. Items were in full stock. We didn't have any issues in looking for parking. The parking lot is small but it's a decent size for the size of the store. I would definitely come back here if I ever need groceries or snacks/pre-mad sandwiches for the hikes. This is my first time in Banff and I'm here during the off-season. My experience shopping here was pleasant. There were not a lot of people in the store and we didn't have to wait in line for check-out.

Yelp
A great store to purchase for any locals and tourists that offers range of diverse products from other countries (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc.) and offers travel size toiletries. Brightly lit store while other sections are a tad dark. There is Starbucks inside for a quick pick me up. The speed of service can be perceived to be slow for others. Also certain products are more expensive compared to Calgary prices. Overall, a great place for almost all of your needs. Be warned, this place can get really crowded, so plan ahead.

Yelp
Local grocery store near downtown Banff. There's a parking lot which is a rare find in downtown! Smaller store but that's to be expected in a small resort town. Most stay in hotels without cooking facilities. Plenty of great restaurants! Decent selection of fruit, cereal, daily (yogurt). Smaller deli with a few hot items. For a small store it has a good selection. If you are staying in Banff for a extended stay and plan to eat some meals in, I would suggest taking the trek East to Canmore. There is a large Safeway in Canmore - huge selection and a better place to go if you are planning to make some lunches or dinner.

Yelp
This is a local grocery store. It's exactly the same as Vons and Safeway. It has all the essentials you need. It's a little of the main Banff Ave street and is walking distance from 75% of hotels and busing distance from 99% of hotels. We got croissants, yogurt, utensils, muffins, and other breakfast items to avoid paying for breakfast at a restaurant - since neither my wife nor I particularly require an amazing breakfast . There is plenty of parking. Prices are pretty standard; a bit of an uptick (tourist fee) but not unreasonable. TL;DR JUST LIKE VONS

Yelp
This grocery store has so many wonderful staff but it is unfortunately managed very poorly. Come here if you want a store that is under staffed and staff that are over worked. Also for xtremely long lines, aisles that are empty of food (they can't seem to order to suit the population) and a general experience that is reminiscent of a pre apocalyptic dystopian grocery.

Yelp
I don't know why but this market does not come up on my car navigation. But I saw it on Yelp so decided to trust it and come even though there aren't any reviews. It looks like this was the old Safeway (their carts had "Safeway" on it. Haha) typical small town market but seemed to have everything. They have all the different sections large market/grocery stores (produce, meat, bread, etc). They also have a small beauty and drugs section that has toiletries, body products, medicine, etc. parking is crowded but shouldn't have too much problem finding parking. There's also a Starbucks inside with 2 small tables. They also have a deli and hot food section with soups and fried chicken and also cold sides as well.
