I feel like the vendors who sale things outside should at least keep the floors and pews cleaned. Thre were wrappers and tissues everywhere. I did clean it up a little so that others wouldnt have the same impression I had. Tourist and visitors please do not trash the place. I feel like that goes without saying but I guess not.

Beautiful old church. If you know the story of the black Jesus you'll get a full spiritual experience. The day we visit the most holy was exposed and was amazing. Only thing I didn't like was the amount of kiosk outside the church and the pushing sale people.

The church of the Christo Negro is fascinating and lovely! Well worth the time to visit. On holy days the town is packed so be ready. Week days most of the businesses are closed. The museum of the town, the Fort and the church is open to the public.

Better known as Iglesia Portortobello, beautiful very serene. Local people were extremely friendly, including local police. Several came out to.meet and chat with us while we were there.
Beautiful!! Must see. No tickets necessary.

October is busy. Be careful not to buy plastic jewelry from street vendors. Also look out for parking scams that try and make visitors pay when they shouldn't. Take time to learn about the Black Christ. Many Pilgrim here to pray.

We visited Iglesia de San Felipe as part of a tour. It was nice to learn about the history of Black Christ and traditions of the Portobello community.
