Beautiful old church. If you know the story of the black Jesus you'll get a full spiritual experience. The day we visit the most holy was exposed and was amazing. Only thing I didn't like was the amount of kiosk outside the church and the pushing sale people.

October is busy. Be careful not to buy plastic jewelry from street vendors. Also look out for parking scams that try and make visitors pay when they shouldn't. Take time to learn about the Black Christ. Many Pilgrim here to pray.

The church of the Christo Negro is fascinating and lovely! Well worth the time to visit. On holy days the town is packed so be ready. Week days most of the businesses are closed. The museum of the town, the Fort and the church is open to the public.

Better known as Iglesia Portortobello, beautiful very serene. Local people were extremely friendly, including local police. Several came out to.meet and chat with us while we were there.
Beautiful!! Must see. No tickets necessary.

By the time we arrived it was raining. So we have the opportunity to in and listen the preach. Even the people of the town are so lovely and warm ✨️✨️✨️

Another Catholic Church, different only by the statue of Black Jesus. Worth a quick detour. The church does have open restrooms accepting donations, but it got guide paid someone to watch the car because it's dangerous. Be careful here.
