It's worth making a quick visit to this small Toledo church just to see one of Spain's most famous works of art: El Greco's 'The Burial of Count Orgaz', painted in 1586 to honor a local nobleman who was buried in this spot in 250 years earlier (his tombstone is at the foot of the painting). Considered El Greco's masterwork, the canvas depicts saints Augustine and Stephen coming down from the heavens at the burial of the devout Count, as Toledo's most distinguished residents (and El Greco himself) look on. The 15-foot tall painting is magnificent, and seen in its intended context and location, breathtaking. The adjoining church is also very nice, but the canvas is the real draw, and well worth the €3 admission price.
