"A Monument to Colonial Architecture in San Pedro de Atacama The Iglesia de San Pedro de Atacama is a beautiful, whitewashed adobe church located in the center of town. The parish dates back to the 1600s, although the current building was constructed in 1745 and is now considered a national monument. On any given day, you will find individuals stopping for a moment to pray inside. The inside is currently in need of some repairs, as some floorboards are missing and giving way to the dirt floor underneath. As a result, if you have change to spare, the church is collecting donations for repairs."

Small church but well worth a visit. Roof is partially made out of cactus wood. Good information signs inside, with English language translation.

Such a pretty little church with impressive features like the cactus wood ceiling and beautifully painted altar. The courtyard and plaza offer a nice respite from the sun. There’s no fee to enter, so please consider a small offering for their hospitality.

A really beautiful historical peaceful church. Apart from that it is a significant historical landmark in Chile, known for its cultural syncretism between indigenous and Spanish influences. It was built during the colonial period and the current structure dates back to the 17th century, with modifications in the 18th century. It is constructed from local materials like adobe, chañar wood, and cactus wood, reflecting Andean colonial architecture.

If you're in town, it's easy to find and view. A typical church of this kind, but nothing special. As we visited prior to Christmas, there were a few additional features, but otherwise not worth going out of your way for.

The creaking floor and quiet atmosphere make this beautiful old church feel mysterious. Why not to pay a visit when visiting San Pedro.

Pretty, Spanish style mission architecture. No tour. Building changes character as sunlight changes during the day. In the main square at San Pedro. Strikingly beautiful.

It's a cute little church. A must see in San Pedro de Atacama. It's good cause you can do this tour part in between the big tour you will do here like the volcanos or Termas. It has a great location, so it's very easy to find. It's well maintained, so it will give you great pictures and it has a unique architecture. Really recommend you to see it. 🥰
