Yummy fresh squeezed traditional beet juice at El Pingüino! Sit at the bar and enjoy the local atmosphere. They make tortas next door, so you can have a whole meal there too!

Definitely come here to buy all of your fruits and vegetables from the locals. There is a nice assortment of shopping bags that are light to take home and use for many years. They make great gifts!

Walk around before you commit to a stand (doesn’t matter if food, groceries or souvenirs). Vendors do not scream at you or pressure you to buy anything which is a nice change! Food choices are great, especially recommend getting fresh green or any other juice with your meal

Very interesting market. Cheese, herbs, stones, boots etc at reasonable prices. Not that expensive compared to some of the small shops in town. Also right next door to the Mercado de Artesanias. If you are in San Miguel De Allende it is worth the effort to go to the market. Easy walk from the center of town.

Be sure and explore the depths of this market as it winds around well beyond what it appears at first glance. You can find just about anything here if you look deep enough, and it's great to support the small local vendors.
