Iguana Bar and Grill

Visited the place with my family of 6, we tasted a starter and several different main courses ending with desserts( Fajitas are so good!) All the foods were amazingly good and excellent quick friendly service. Congrats for the chefs and waiters, higly recommend for a great experience!

I absolutely love Iguana Bar & Grill! The servers are so funny, friendly, and welcoming they always make you feel right at home. I’m a picky eater, but they went above and beyond and even made me a special burrito just how I like it. You can definitely find something delicious here no matter what your taste is. The food is always amazing, and their piña colada is absolutely delicious! Highly recommend this place you’ll leave happy and full every time. ps. make sure to make reservations on weekends!! 🌮🍹💛

This place delivers a vibrant Mexican atmosphere that hits you the moment you walk in. From the lively music and colorful decorations to the rustic tables and authentic menu, the vibe is spot-on and truly immersive. The food itself was flavourful and well-prepared, offering a taste of Mexico that left us wanting more - literally. Portion sizes were on the smaller side, especially considering the price point, which might not suit every appetite. One notable downside was the lack of customization for spice levels. As someone who enjoys extra heat, I missed the option to dial it up. Service was a bit underwhelming. We arrived about 40 minutes before closing, and while the kitchen was still open, staff didn't seem too thrilled to have us. Understandable to some extent, but as paying customers, a warmer welcome would've made a big difference. Despite these hiccups, the overall experience was enjoyable enough to warrant a second visit. The food and ambiance are strong reasons to come back - hopefully at a better time for a more welcoming experience.

We had a lovely 3 course meal at this Mexican restaurant located close to the Hungarian parliament on 2/12/25. Equally as good as the food was the waiter who served us who showed great passion for the job. I don't recall his name but he had a small top knot pony tail. The restaurant is privileged to have this guy as a member of their staff.

The waiter Akosh (sp.?) was supremely friendly, the best service we got in Hungary. The nachos were world class. The menu was large and varied. Can especially recommend the burritos - the tacos were a little simple and flavourless.

We went to Iguana for lunch, and since it was a bit late, we got outdoor seating within 5 minutes. We tried Iguana 4 Amigos - comes with bowl full of house chips, which were really good and crisp and four dips. The house salsa was very tasty, while the roja salsa was quite spicy but not very flavorful. The chili con queso cheese dip wasn’t really to our liking, but the guacamole was absolutely awesome. The Veggie Tacos were delicious too. We also tried a few drinks (don’t recall the names), and they were decent. Overall, it’s a good Mexican restaurant — a bit on the pricier side, but you can give it a try if you’re in the area.

We’ve been coming back here for years. This is one of our favourite restaurants in Budapest. The food is always excellent. My favourite is the Steak Fajitas. Huge portions. And to mention the cocktails, oh wow. I never had better in Budapest. I love frozen margaritas and they always have a wide flavor selection of it. And other cocktails are amazing too. Try as much as you can. (Leo is the best bartender 🫶🏼) The waiting staff is always really kind. I recommend booking in advance cause they are usually really busy.

We ordered the nachos, which were supposed to have ground beef, but there was barely any meat as you can see, same with the burritos and tacos. They were mostly filled with veggies and other fillers, which was disappointing. The taste overall was mediocre. The only solid dish was the fajita, good portion size and the flavour kind of matched the price point. The atmosphere inside was nice, but the service needs work. Our mains didn’t arrive together some plates came 5–10 minutes apart, which isn’t professional. That said, the staff were kind and helpful. Not the most authentic or satisfying Mexican food experience in my opinion.
