IKEA City - Stockholm

In August 2025, I visited 5 countries alongside my vegan friend, and we found some incredible spots! Even though I’m not vegan, I keep an open mind. When in Stockholm, you absolutely must dine at IKEA! They have the best ordering system, service, and food. I couldn’t snap a photo of my soft serve ice cream because I devoured it in mere seconds. Plus, it’s budget-friendly!!

IKEA City: Stockholm's Urban Home Haven! 🇸🇪🛋️ IKEA City in Gallerian is an absolute game-changer! It's fantastic to have the IKEA magic right in the heart of Stockholm. This isn't your traditional sprawling warehouse; it's a perfectly curated, multi-floor experience where you can get inspired, grab those essential bits, and even enjoy some delicious Swedish meatballs – all without leaving the city center. I love how they focus on sustainable solutions and offer a second-hand section. It makes home decorating feel so much more accessible and exciting. The staff are always ready to help navigate the clever layouts and find exactly what you need. Five stars for bringing that iconic IKEA charm and convenience right to our urban doorstep!

Visiting Sweden means you simply have to try the iconic IKEA meatballs, and of course we did! It felt like a true milestone on our journey. Back in the Netherlands, we’d only ever had the vegan version, so I was especially excited to finally try the traditional meatballs in their home country. Served with creamy sauce, lingonberries, and mashed potatoes, they absolutely lived up to the hype. Simple, comforting, and surprisingly delicious. Definitely a must-try Swedish experience.

Can you say you’ve been to Stockholm if you haven’t been to IKEA? No, no you can’t. So we shopped and tried the world-famous Swedish meatballs and appreciated the most economical meal we have had in Scandinavia. We even had a pigeon encounter

It was like any urban ikea, with a tiny space with special merch as it is with a "museum" corner. They had tiny bags that I hadn't seen anywhere, so I took them as souvenirs.

It is a convenient location in the center of Stockholm but the store is not that big nor you can order a lot of the products for pickup there due to how limited the product range is. If you want the essentials and small household then it is perfect.

Small, much smaller than what we have in Manila and also than those in Saudi Arabia. But here, service is super excellent. They will talk to you in English if you don’t speak Swedish. Just to compare, in Manila I experienced talking to a staff who’s obviously Filipino but was pretending not to know Tagalog despite struggling in talking in English. I have that comment in IKEA Manila’s Google map profile. The meatballs are excellent! Cooked to perfection. Mash is equally delicious.

I was lucky to visit IKEA in the country it’s originally from. Of course I took some meatballs with smashed potatoes. I was a bit surprised to see some cranberry sauce in my dish, but believe me or not it tasted very good with the potatoes and meatballs. The prices are okay: 69Kr (roughly 7$) for the main meatball dish, 49Kr (roughly 5$) for the ikea’s “chickenburger” and only 5Kr for a very yummy Cinnabon (or something that tastes like this, I don’t remember the actual name). If you’re visiting the capital of Sweden, it’s strictly recommended to visit ikea and to taste its famous meatballs. This ikea is situated in the city centre, so you don’t even need to drive outside the main city to visit it. Very convenient:)
