Nestled amidst a mini row of revamped shophouses along Bukit Timah Road, Ikeda is possibly the easiest spa to miss EVER...at least to me. There is virtually no parking (unless you get reeeeeeaaaaally lucky), and the property is very modest, but if you like quaint themed spas, this is the place for you.
With hostesses in kimonos speaking in hushed tones, rice paper walls, zen music, a rock garden, and wooden floors, the spa definitely delivers on the Japanese theme. What really sold me though, was that they were open on New Years day, had a couples room, and offered a trial price for first timers!
They expertly kneaded our daily stressors away, soaked us in a lovely hot spring bath, fed us some yummy tea and cookies, and sent us on our way in time for our dinner reservations. There was no hard selling, no talking during our treatment time, and no mentioning of signing packages when we left. It was perfect. No annoyances and complete relaxation from entrance to exit. I will definitely be back!
