What did that T-shirt says “The best place to have a three ways on Route 66”. Need to run back and get that t-shirt! The chili is awesome, fixed my craving. Thanks Ike !

Joshua Taylor

Google
Ike's Chili is still making chili 117 years after their founding and it's awesome! The chili and coneys are the best in town. I competed in my very first hot dog eating contest there and had a blast! The owners are great people. Support this local, historic business!

Mary Thompson

Google
Update in response to Ike's comment on my post: You may not have had coneys 25-30 years ago, but you had chili. Either this isn't the original Ike's I used to eat or the recipe has changed. I noticed in the reviews that, apparently, I'm not alone in my opinion. Best wishes. DISCLAIMER: I'm honored to be a Top 10 Reviewer for Google. I do my best to be fair and honest but realize your experience may differ from mine. So, please keep that in mind when considering this restaurant, establishment, and/or venue. REVIEW: Hadn't been to Ike's in probably 25-30 years and was looking forward to eating there again. Very disappointed. The Chili on the coneys was horrible and the weiner was about the size of a pencil. The service was so-so for we had to request drink refills even though our server walked past our table several times. Plus, there were cobwebs hanging on the walls up by the ceiling, which wasn't very appetizing. In addition it cost almost $30 with tip for the two of us to each have 3 coneys, chips and a soft drink. Sad to say we couldn't eat hardly any of our lunches because it tasted so horrible so, therefore, we will probably never return or recommend this once iconic restaurant.

Google
Delicious taste of America in the iconic Route 66. Make sure you shake the hand of the owner; the staff always takes care of everyone with speed. This is a place you must visit and enjoy the atmosphere.

Gage Guthery

Google
My buddy and I come to Ike's before every time we go climbing. Chili and climbing is a weird combo, but the chili itself is great! Happy to add to the tradition of Ike's, 10/10 would recommend.

Suzanna Wilbanks

Google
The chili is okay. On the greasy side. The service was okay. We had to make our requests a couple of times to the waitress. She wasn't rude or mean, just a little forgetful. All in all, it wasn't a horrible experience. Just wasn't an amazing experience either.

Timothy Williams

Google
Went here for the first time today. I ordered the chili cheese fries and the taco salad. The fries themselves were not what was shown on their site as the site shows crinkle-cut and what I received was definitely not. The chili was meaty and decent. The taco salad was mediocre as it was just a salad with chili on top. Overall, I was not impressed and only went here as it is close to where I work. I will probably return but not soon.

Google
So good! The food comes out so quickly, I'm not sure you're even done ordering before its on the plate. Definitely a staple of Tulsa and of American cuisine in general. You get a feel of the stories that building could tell just from looking at the decor outside.

Richard S.

Yelp
A place that's been around since the (near) turn of the century - golly gee, I want to love a place like this. And this place is neat enough, inside. But for me, the chili is a clear miss. Why?: The taste reminds me of (the kind of chili, used for a coney dog. The chili itself, isn't particularly flavorful. The taste; I don't know how to describe or discern the particular ingredients. I'm a chili lover. And sure want to love this place too. But, to be honest: Have the third star (to my rating), just because of Ike's being an old place, that has stood the test of time.

Robert B.

Yelp
Nice little historical chili restaurant that has roots in Tulsa from 1908. Everyone from the mayor and visitors can sit down for a great bowl of chili. Service was quick, the location had adequate parking and the chili and beans I ate was very tasty. This is a restaurant that I would visit every time I was in town!!

Steve G.

Yelp
Best chili ever, and serving it up thru 4 generations of the original owners. Several different locations thru the years and they have all been great. Currently on route 66(11th Street). Check their hours to be sure you don't miss out on the great food being served at this Tulsa fixture. Will Rogers liked it. You will too.

Megan J.

Yelp
I stopped by Ike's on the way through Tulsa because it's one of those must stop historic places. It's located on a touristy strip of the old Route 66 amidst souvenir shops and tourist signs. I got a pint of chili and beans with cheese and onions to go. It took about 10 minutes to get my order. Staff was friendly enough- definitely not overly friendly. They seemed to just be going through the motions. The chili was pretty darn good and enough for a couple of meals on the trip. Inside is more of a casual no frills hole in the wall but super clean.

Dagwood S.

Yelp
This is a great legacy Tulsa restaurant. They have great chili that has won numerous awards and can be used on almost anything. The staff are very friendly. They provide a great affordable lunch that is consistently high quality. It's also nice that they are part of the Route 66 legacy.

Spike S.

Yelp
Please do not put beans in your chili. It is disgusting and a socially unacceptable. It has been proven to be symptomatic of an eating disorder. If you're an Okie, you already know about Ike's. Or you should. This review is intended to be helpful for those spirited, venturous individuals hoping to experience the authentic, historical, iconic diners along the "Mother Road!" Ike's is all of that! Ike's has not always been on Route 66, but it has been in business in Tulsa since 1908. Oklahoma's oldest restaurant. Nope, it is not TexMex (Very Spicy), it is not Okie Stye (Beans and Tomatoes) its "Ike's Chili." It is very similar in consistency and taste, to that of the chili served on coney island hot dogs. It reminds me a little of Cincinnati Style. And the restaurant likes to use the term "ways" when referring to how it may be served. There are several "ways" on the menu; Straight, With beans (for deviates), With Spaghetti, and then that perfect "Three Way" you've been looking for, chili, beans and spaghetti! The chili is mild, providing a starting point for everyone. On the table to use at your discretion, are appropriate universal chili components; chili powder, red pepper, black pepper, hot sauce and all the crackers you could ever eat. That should accommodate anyone wanting to transform the flavor of Ike's chili to their geographical version of the red meat stew! And, Ike's has Oklahoma's favorite vegetable "Fritos!" If you are a tourist, well it's OK and recommended that you enjoy the true Ike's experience. Go with the "Three Way!" You only live once and you need to have a story to tell when you get back home! If you are group of tourists, it is imperative that someone orders the Frito Chili Pie. If not, you all just wasted ten days of your life traveling across the US. However! If you want to go like a pro, it is "Straight UP!" with Ike's OEM approved chili performance enhancement components; Cheese, Onions, Jalapeno's and the little known secret chili enhancement Mustard! That's how I roll! Pick your bowl size. The double is a 16oz big bowl of beef. More than I could eat.. Check the menu. There are a lot of options My wife went with a taco salad. I don't even want to talk about it........

Ashley D.

Yelp
For a chili lover like myself, this was an incredible experience. I was debating between ordering the chili mac or the chili cheeseburger, and my waitress said the chili mac was a fan favorite so I went with that. It was absolutely delicious! I thought the prices were very affordable for the high quality of food, and the restaurant had tons of old pictures from the early 1900s of Tulsa related things. I'll definitely be back for more!

Dan C.

Yelp
Tulsa landmark celebrating 114 years in business. Serves chili, burgers and more. Good beer selection. Very hospitable staff.

Louis L.

Yelp
Would give it a 3.5 if possible because of the balance of the experience. But here, tie goes to the runner and so 4 it is. But WHY, LOUIS? WHY??!! Keep your hats on. I'll explain. The chili: One star in terms of taste. It literally tasted like nothing. I didn't know whether I was eating meat, or sauce, or spice, or just drinking brown water. There's nothing to it. It's more bland than a piece of white bread spiced up with another piece of white bread. (I tried a number of combos on that one. But I settled for the one that might not even make you laugh it's so darn bland.) The merchandise they sell in relation to the chili is spicier than the chili itself. The burger: Amazing. Cooked to order, and was a great condiment/meat/toppings ratio. The bread didn't get in the way in terms of taste, it just held everything together. Every bite was good. If you like pickles, I recommend you get them. I got the cheddar cheese. They give you options in terms of ketchup/mayo and whatnot. I know that lots of folks have strong feelings on condiments, so I won't recommend one or another, but I will say they will make it as you wish, so no worries. I'm also not aware of any Tulsa-specific burger order, so I just went with mayo, pickles, lettuce, tomato, onion, medium cooked with cheddar cheese. The ambiance is great too. Very clean, old-fashioned, and very friendly service. I sat at the counter so I could watch the kitchen. It was a show watching them carefully cooking the burgers, and all the servers grabbing what they could serve in seamless fashion. I recommend the merch too. It's Route 66, after all. Walk away with something other than a full stomach!

Jack C.

Yelp
So seriously my first time ever try try Ike's and the chili is legit a 5. Now I got the chili burger bc it's one of my favs at another burger joint and it wasn't too shabby. The burgers patty was thick and I loved how it felt when you took a bite but it wasn't awe inspiring flat top or open grill amazing.... but this is a chili place.... solid... I'd get it again though! Now their menu..... too many things I wanted to try in one sitting! One of the guys got double Mac n chili. Wow... that looked good and I swear I think he used a straw and inhaled his food in less than a minute... Next round.... I'm trying the frito chili pie bc one of the other guys got that and it looked heavenly! Oh and the table next to use looked like they got the frito burrito wrap and holy hell that looked crazy good...... Good job boys! I'll be back!

Rob B.

Yelp
Very good chili with great service. The air staff have always been great and they have been able to hold onto these folks in spite of Covid.

Terry D.

Yelp
There is a reason that it's been open since the 1920's. This Tulsa staple is know across the nation for it's offerings.

Battle W.

Yelp
I can't say anything about service since I had it delivered. I have to say I was extremely disappointed with this chili. It was my first and last time. No flavor and so bland. Just really gross if I'm honest. Did they have a bad day? It was bad enough that I only ate a tiny bit. I can't imagine good reviews. It was not spicy, salty, nothing. Not any tomato flavor. It taste like water just added to a little meat. I still can't believe this stuff.

Gary M.

Yelp
The Hickory Burger is exactly what I needed. A patty that was charred with cheese, bacon, Head Country BBQ Sauce (the best BBQ sauce ever FYI), mustard & pickles. The burger was huge, the patty hanging off of the edge of the buns. The fact I didn't even have to request to be prepped well done made me happy. Highly recommend. Comes with an options of sides, I went with the waffle sweet potato fries. They complement the Hickory Burger well. With the place being a chili spot, I'd have to come back for the Chili Cheese Burger or the Chili & Spaghetti, which is something I've seen on Food Network years ago that caught my attention & made me curious on how that would taste.

Gerald W.

Yelp
It. Had been a couple, or three, decades since I had visited Ike's Chili. I think they might have moved a couple of time since then but the chili has not changed one bit in all that time. Today was their 114th birthday and I decided it was a fine time to go have some chili. No disappointments here. I had a 3-way with spaghetti, chili and beans along with one of today's birthday specials a $1.14 coney. The crowd. Was thick today and will definitely return again.

Jeffrey W.

Yelp
Service was great. Friendly atmosphere. Food was hot and tasty. Good price. Great place to pop in and eat at.

Debbie V.

Yelp
Don't understand why this place doesn't have a higher rating. Most people from Tulsa know this place is the gold standard for chili. They have been around since 1908. Their flavor is delicious. Will Rogers used to love this chili! The atmosphere is simple. Our focus is the chili! I usually get the chili plain with cheese and sometimes I add the beans. My husband usually gets the chili and spaghetti with cheese and onions. Can't beat the flavor. Wish we could replicate it at home! We usually get a quart to go so we can enjoy more at home too. Highly recommend!

Irena T.

Yelp
This is not the place to go if you want service. The entire time I was there, the staff was sitting around and talking, even though there were plenty of dirty tables around to clean. Food = not bad. Got the chili cheese open faced burger. The burger tasted freshly made and the chili was good. Waffle fries = delish.

Denny H.

Yelp
More like a bowl of refried beans with micro hints of ground meat

Claudia B.

Yelp
I've always loved Ike's chili, same great chili year after year I highly recommend this place!

Joe M.

Yelp
My brother wanted to eat here. It's been 40 years since he was last here. I have never eaten here and to be honest if I was driving by i probably wouldn't have stopped, which would be a bad decision on my part. We got the chili and spaghetti which was very good. My wife got the burrito which was also very good. Needless to say we will be back. Thee is something to be said about a restaurant that has been open over 100 years.

Janet D.

Yelp
One of our favorite locations! Owners are genuine and kind which immediately makes me smile. Everything is hot and fresh and consistent. My husband eats here A LOT :)

Ron P.

Yelp
Ike's Chili is one of those places that really doesn't remind you of another place. The skyline chili is flavorful and a perfect host for the bean, onion and a mountain of cheese. It's famous "3 way" is filling and filling. Do not expect a bowl of the Texas Red chili with chucks of beef, tomatoes, chilies and cumin. This is much thinner with a hint of seasonal that is unique to this type food. The place has moved from its downtown Tulsa location to Route 66 (11th street) just outside town. It's step back to the past.

Andrew F.

Yelp
This is the first time i have eaten at ikes chili. i got the double chili and beans with onions and cheese. Ialso ordered a side of waffle fries. The fries are amazing, was not expecting it from a side item. The chili was some of the best ive had around Oklahoma. The chili is a bit on the expensive side, but worth the cost once i tried it. I didnt like however the nickel and dime treatment on every condiment i wanted on my chili :cheese, onion, peppers, etc.

Steve L.

Yelp
Chili is greasey so I wish I would have had a 3 way. But oh my its good. Just awesome texture. Served piping hot and delicous.

Garen M.

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for a long time. I'm glad I finally got the chance to eat here. The chili can be ordered a number of different ways with several toppings. I like chili without beans with no additions. Their chili is meaty, a little spicy but not too hot. Very good and tasty old fashioned recipe. The burger was wonderful. It has a huge fresh hamburger patty and all the trimmings. I like hamburgers and this one fits all of my likes. The waffle fries were fresh cut and good. Service was quick and attentive. I hope to go back soon.

Charles F.

Yelp
Great chili and hamburgers. Do not order more than one order of fries. One order is large enough to feed a family of 10

Johnny M.

Yelp
My wife and I are hooked on the chili here! We come here for lunch to dine We get quarts of chili to go for dinners at home. My wife likes the straight chili in a bowl. I prefer two way. Chili slang goes like this at Ike's "Straight" means just chili without beans or spaghetti. "Two way is either chili with beans or chili and Spaghetti. "Three way" is all three Chili, beans and spaghetti. The back of Ike's T-shirts read-Best place for a three way on Route 66!

Cris P.

Yelp
Just wanted to thank Ike's Chili for setting the standard for #covid19 precautions. I went there today with my 75 year old dad, and God bless'm for doing everything right: paper menus, to go packets for condiments, social distancing, one way in and one way out, and the waitress had a mask AND gloves. I've been to other restaurants in NE Oklahoma and their disregard for #covid19 precautions has been appalling. But a little ol' bitty 112 year old humble chili parlor got it all right. And thank god because Omigod their chili is a galactic treasure, haha! Dad had a blast and for just a few minutes, the world was normal. ;-)

Garold R M.

Yelp
I went here with high expectations. I really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, it was a let down. There was the FRITO BURRITO: mostly lettuce and ranch, not the large amounts of chili and Fritos that the menu promised. Then there was the GRILLED CHICKEN SANDWICH that consisted of room temperature on the outside and slightly chilled on the inside. Last there was the $3 add-on fries that amounted to a quantity that should have considerably more for the price. Service was not as bad as I've had, but certainly nothing to write home about. All this loveliness for $37 and change. Now you know.

William Randolph B.

Yelp
Ike's is the chili for all seasons. And the new location offers a new expanded menu, with Chicken Salad Wraps, burgers, crispy chicken breast sandwich; cobblers with or without hand scooped ice cream, and now 10 types of ice cold beer. I have been eating at Ike's Chili since I was a kid. Great friendly service, free parking, and a fun place to eat Daily specials $5.99 - include drink, side and entre'. Mon Chicken Salad Wrap; Tuesday Burger; Wed Small Frito Pie; Thursday Frito Burritto Fri Two Cheese Chili Coneys; Sat; Tamales. Summer menu usually changes from fall, winter, and spring, so call or go online for updates to the menu and hours. If you have not tried Ike's Chili, you are missing some of the best and quickest served slow cooked food in Tulsa. This is fast food, cooked low and slow featuring the best cuts of beef, and a secret family recipe. Hours M-F 10am till 7pm Sat 10am till 3pm. Closed Sunday's, and most major holidays. Ike's Chili - A Tulsa Tradition since 1908 Kids 8 and under free with every adult meal. Kid's meals $5.29

Thomas N.

Yelp
Best Frito pie wrap I have ever had! Their chili is excellent. Oh and the cobbler and ice cream

Tuan T.

Yelp
Was really looking forward to trying the chili based on the reviews. I got a bowl of regular chili, what came out was a bowl of grease and "meat" with the consistency of congealed pus. Other than that, the service was very fast and the place was clean.

Adam A.

Yelp
I love the chili here and would give it 5 stars. IF the place stayed open during it's posted hours. I've been here about 3 times when they were closed at 3 pm on a weekday despite saying they are open until 7. If you want to close at 3 fine. Just post the correct hours.

Tulsa Z.

Yelp
Cool, rainy day perfect for a bowl of chili. Plenty of parking at 10:30 and I was the first customer. Sat at the bar and greeted immediately. All staff except one or two in the kitchen wearing masks. Ordered the Special (medium) chili with beans and cheese and onions. The cheese is .69 cents and the onions are .46 cents extra. I'd be curious how they came up with these price points. The chili was $8.29. A root beer is $2.30. I was asked if I wanted crackers and they were brought to me in a plastic sandwich bag with many packets. I was also provided a couple of packets of Louisiana Hot Sauce. It was a nice meal but as I was finishing a couple of guys who looked like construction workers came in without masks. No one asked them to put one on or offer to provide them one. I'm getting more picky about where I eat and am less likely to go somewhere where customers are not expected to wear masks.

Robby L.

Yelp
There closed@3 on saterday night!! Closed Sunday. Plus u got a park n the back. Oh & house Chilly cost tax&stupid 10$ two bowls cost me 20$ that's not cost-effective for me.

Ernestine M.

Yelp
TRADITION If you're looking for our Tulsa tradition, this is it. My Daddy's store was 3 doors from Ike's Chili Parlor and every morning we could smell the chili cooking as Ike Johnson started his day. This is NOT your "Gourmet" cookbook chili, it's "OUR" chili, made completely for Okies!! I've traveled the world, had chili a lot of places but NEVER like "ours" here in Tulsa. My preference is a "special 3-way" mostly because that's what I was eating from the time I could chew. So, if you want our real "Tulsa Tradition", this is it. Please don't compare it to anything else you've ever eaten. We stand alone with Ike and his original recipe. Also remember, it was the meeting place so many years ago for all the business men who worked downtown. And we didn't have air conditioning just large fans, lots of talk and laughter and Tulsa's forever "Tradition".

Jerrod P.

Yelp
As a chili fan I was really excited to try Ike's chili. I'm very disappointed. The chili is very plain. I order the frito chili pie and got a whole lot of Fritos and cheese and not much chili. It was a huge waste of money in my opinion.

Amy F.

Yelp
The chili is very good. The menu is decent. Chicken strips are very tasty. The burgers, avoid those.. They're frozen patties severely undercooked. The prices are high, esp since drinks aren't included. Kids eat free daily. Two people eating a modest lunch of two burgers will run you $25. The place is dirty and needs updating. The bathroom was horrendous. Our server ignored our kid completely when it came to drinks or ordering. Not very kid or budget friendly.

Geary J.

Yelp
Same as it ever was! A new location yet still the great chili that Tulsa has grown to love over the years. Have you ever awoke in the middle of the night and had a craving for a great flavorful dish, and when you awake in the morning it's still there? Ike's is like that, once you get the itch for a bowl or a big serving of 3-way it's not going to stop till you've landed there for lunch!

Peter G.

Yelp
Never open, bad service. Tried to eat there 5/26 the Friday before Memorial Day and it was closed. Poorly scrawled note said "Closed for Memorial Day weekend 27th, 28th, and 30th" well it's the 26th and the door says open until 7pm with not a soul in sight. Not the first time, they randomly close whenever they feel like. I've driven across town 3-4 times to find they're closed. I'd call but they don't answer the phone when they're open.

Eric B.

Yelp
Icon in Tulsa since about the time of statehood. Best chili I have had anywhere in the USA and I travel a lot. No equal !!

Jim M.

Yelp
I know this place has a name around here, but why? This tastes just like Wolf brand chili. Way too expensive for what you get. More chili for half the cost at Braums.

Jes N.

Yelp
My last visit my chili and spaghetti triple was ice cold, and small. If you order a triple it's because you are hungry ! Price of food has gone WAY up. And quality/quantity of food and quality of service has gone down. Which is very sad ikes was MY go to place, i was a WEEKLY customer. My family has eaten there forever, in fact I'm the 4th out of 5 generations of my family that has enjoyed ikes chili over the years. The chili used to taste way better and the employees were the sweetest around. Sadly after the move from admiral the quality of food has been on a steady decline and then different employees that don't care about the customers and that was too much for me. I'm to the point now where I don't know if I want to go back. I have been an ikes customer for 25 years and it is very sad to see that my favorite place in tulsa has changed so much.

Jerry T.

Yelp
Ike's is open in the new location. Interesting connection on old Route 66 for a Classic Tulsa chili parlor.

Anita M.

Yelp
This is the nastiest chili I have ever eaten! It's nothing but grease with no flavor at all. How has this place stayed open for so long? I heard it was a Tulsa landmark....well, obviously "landmark" doesn't necessarily mean good.

Donna H.

Yelp
There is parking and an entry in the rear. They have 4 or the buildings, starting at the corner. The first is the kitchen, one is the counter and stool area with the cash register and two are dining areas. On entering, it is very light with nice tables and booths. There are historic pictures of Tulsa on the walls and a cheerful atmosphere. People very nice. They have specials, but I got the Hickory Burger minus mayo and my husband got 3 way chili. My patty was a little overcooked, but tasty and very filling. The fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned waffle fries, delicious and hot. My husband was beyond disappointed with the chili. I agree it was luke warm and bland. The texture was not like real meat, very unpleasant feeling in the mouth. My husband added there was an taste he couldn't identify and it was watery, I didn't agree with those two observations, but he is a chili expert. I have only been eating chili for about 5 years. I wanted to love this place, but I will go to Bill and Ruth's for chili and here for Hickory Burgers. They have a varied menu, please do give them a try. I like supporting small local independent business.

Pj S.

Yelp
Chili is great but unfortunately, I ordered the chicken salad. Bland, mushy, no flavor of chicken, pecans, or cranberries. Will not order this again.

Portia G.

Yelp
My family has been going to Ike's for over 40 years. Might not be the fanciest or shiniest restaurant but the food is what you come for, and it has not changed one bit. You know a place is good when you see the same folks going there decades later.
