IKKO Hibachi Sushi Asian Bistro&Crab House

I was excited to try the golden prawns on the menu which is supposed to be prawns stuffed with crab meat. Immediately wondered if it was imitation crab because I’m not a fan so I decided call and ask them. When I spoke to the lady on the phone she first told me yes it is imitation crab but then switched her answer to no saying it wasn’t. I asked her multiple times for clarity and she kept saying no it’s not imitation but if I wanted real crab meat she would charge $3 extra which is I why I asked again. I placed my order in Uber eats then called back to let her know my uber and the lady immediately told me that she seen my order already and informed the guy. When my food arrived i was excited to try this appetizer but immediately was disappointed and upset when i see it is imitation crab and the lady on the phone was not helpful. So I called the restaurant back looking for an explanation of how this could happen if I spoke to them multiple times and was told different. The First Lady told me that if I wanted real crab to get a seafood boil mind you this is a seafood and hibachi place. Then she says it wasn’t her I spoke to so she tells me to hold on, I can hear in the background they are discussing the situation in their language and then start laughing and then she comes back to the phone like oh we can’t help to ask uber for refund. Also the lady who I spoke to twice on the phone prior to my order completely ignored the fact that she told me the order did not come with imitation crab and that she informed the chef to use real crab if it did. These people have no integrity but always want our money even if you communicate something with them , they will not be upfront and honest and beat around the bush, a common occurrence with this race and lack of respect that I am tired of and will say anything for your money and have no accountability in their wrong doing. Will not be ordering from here again and you shouldn’t either for the reasons listed above.

I had a great time at IKKO hibachi with my family. Our server did a great job and was attentive to my child and he even made a Shirley Temple that tasted so good. The margaritas he made was strong and tasty. The food was so delicious. The flavor was phenomenal. We order the lobster tail and shrimp steamed platter and it tasted so fresh and flavorful. The dumplings was chef kiss. They were fried and steamed to perfection. Please stop by and support IKKO. The food is delicious

From the moment you walk in, you are treated like a guest of honor. Our waiter was incredibly attentive and gave excellent recommendations for both our meals and drinks. I ordered the sushi, and you could really taste the freshness in every piece—the shrimp tempura rolls were particularly delicious. We also tried the steamed seafood bag with snow crab, headless shrimp, potatoes, and corn topped with the 'Boom' sauce (a mix of all their sauces), which was fantastic. Everything tasted fresh, not frozen. The service went above and beyond my expectations, and the food was flawless. They also have hibachi tables which I will definitely try out next time .

Firstly, to state this is my favorite restaurant. Of all of them. And for good reason. When I first came here, perhaps 2 years ago, I came for a party. The chef was great, and they were working on an outdoor area. The food instantly impressed us, and we came back constantly. The chefs' tricks are amusing, but I care more about the food. Nowhere else will the garlick noodles and steak be so good. It's better than the 2 other hibachi I went to. I have no other detail to add as you will understand everything when you come here. Invite your date here. This place is great. I recommend the noodles.

This was a memorable experience for me in the best way! Such a warm inviting atmosphere and incredibly welcoming staff. The restaurant is huge when you get inside and there’s plenty of privacy depending where you sit. The hibachi was fireworks for my sister and I as we watched others tables enjoy it! We decided to get yellowfin and tuna rolls and calamari and the food proportions were right on and absolutely delicious! I had a great time at IKKO!

This restaurant was great. The whole staff was welcoming and very nice. They made accommodations for me, which was great because I did not want the hibachi menu, and it was no problem. The restaurant is nicely decorated. They show the chef put on was great. Very nice spot for birthdays and large gatherings. The food was good as well. Had a really good time here

I had their takeout sushi and it was pretty good. It hit the spot. But pretty pricey… Would I order from here again? Yes. How often? Probably when my fav spot is closed this place would be my alternative. One thing I loved about their service was that they were fast! Like on a Monday night👏🏼

Been meaning to check out Ikko Hibachi Sushi Asian Bistro in the Bronx for a while, and it definitely lived up to the wait. Started off with a Tsingtao (Chinese Beer) smooth and refreshing, a solid choice with hibachi. There was a bit of a wait for the chef to come out, but once he did, it was totally worth it. He struck the perfect balance--entertaining without overdoing it. We ordered the steak, scallops, lobster, and shrimp, and everything came out cooked perfectly. Portions were generous enough that we even had leftovers to take home for the next day, which is always a plus. I really liked the light-up hibachi tables, a nice modern touch. The restaurant wasn't crowded, which made the experience even more enjoyable, and the service throughout was good. Overall, the place looks great, the food was on point, and the vibe was just right. We'll definitely be back.

Awesome night. My mother and I came in on a Monday [chef's name was Cash] and we shared a table with a group of ladies. The service and performance was excellent (we laughed so much) and a fun time was had by all. Another positive note: a kitty-type balloon was given to those celebrating a birthday. The dinner was delicious, but filling...and [for guy with a healthy appetite] I had leftovers that were enough for a big lunch the next day. Why 4/5 and not 5/5? I plan to attend on a FRI or SAT evening very soon. If they are able to maintain the same quality service and attention to detail on a much busier night, I will gladly change my grade to 5/5. I believe they can.

This staple in Throggs Neck deserves an updated review, which at this point is 7 years from when Ikko initially opened. Between my first review and now, Ikko has maintained their relevance. They've kept up by offering decent Asian inspired apps and entrees. At the tail end of Covid they pivoted to include Seafood Boils as an option. Not a fan of boils so unsure how that option is going. Another option, Hibachi, which we also are not big fans of, unless forced upon us by friends or family. Is prepared on these red glowing tables and appears to appeal to the masses, so that's a good thing. During our visits, generally on the early side of dinner hours, service has always been attentive and our meals, most often than not are prepared as expected. There has been the occasional slight hiccup while dining in or when ordering for delivery, but nothing major. The aesthetics of this place continues to appeal with their colorful facade. And their interior is just as inviting with ambient lighting of red hues throughout the restaurant, enhancing the Asian inspired statues and textured wall designs. It's nice that Ikko has kept up with this large piece of real estate, providing decent meals and continuing to keeping themselves relevant within the neighborhood.

Family birthday dinner. Eight out of nine did the traditional hibachi meal. One did the crawfish boiled bag along with calamari. Being that it was ordered at a hibachi restaurant we didn't expect it to be as good but surprisingly it was. The calamari was the big circle they didnt serve it with the marinara sauce instead it was served with mustard lemon pepper sauce which was good. The service was great we stayed almost three hours and we weren't rushed to leave at all. The ambiance was family oriented and the hibachi chef was entertaining. An added bonus was the birthday person recieved a $30 gift certificate. We will be going back to celebrate another family members birthday next month

Ikko still has the best hot and sour soup out there. It's not too viscous, seasoned to perfection, and loaded with all types of mushrooms. I always make sure to order a large so that I have leftovers. I also like to spice it up by adding some spicy mustard. General Tso's is always good enough. While they use white meat (which I prefer) they do tend to dry it out. I also find that their side of rice that comes with entrees is really small-- not like your typical take out spot. I don't mind it too much because I don't really eat it but I can see where a customer wouldn't be too happy about it. I would recommend getting an extra side of rice if you're trying to feed more than one/two people. I still get the chicken because it's tasty and a safe dish for me. lol Their pan seared pork buns are outstanding. They make most of their dumplings, if not all, in house and they are good at these for sure. They are so flavorful and juicy. I ask for some chili oil to drizzle over them and I am always satisfied with these. I appreciate their addition to the neighborhood for having some tasty hibachi too! My favorite has to be the lobster and scallops for that. I love their flavors and service here. I always ask for extra garlic on all my food and they are more than happy to accommodate. The scallops are excellently prepared and pretty big too! Ikko is a nice place to keep you entertained for dinner time. I think of it like dinner and a show.

Ontop of the Health Grade Pending on the door they have Hair in Their food and chose to give me raw (close to blue rare) steak as a rare habichi steak and shrimp combo, and then tried to say I didn't find a hair in the food and denied it, with gnats and flies all over this place this is one of many problems I've had at this restaurant, DO NOT COME HERE AND SPEND YOUR MONEY IT IS NOT WORTH IT.

I visited IKKO in early November 2025 with my family on a weekday. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in. My first observation was it was cold inside the restaurant. I don't like coming out of the cold to having to sit inside to dine with my coat on. I knew it wasn't just me as my family were also cold. Once the chef started cooking the heat from the grill saved us. Once he finished cooking and the cold crept back in, we quickly ate our meals so we could go. The server was very attentive to us. She took our drink orders and returned with them rather quickly. She would also have our refills ready before we were done with the drinks we had in our hands. We chose the Hibachi Entrees the food was good but my chicken could have used a bit more seasoning. Everyone else loved the food. The portions are really large and I was so stuffed that I didn't have room for dessert. Now that I know about this location I would definitely visit again. I know everything is so expensive these days but I just hope if I visit again in the winter that it would be much warmer and I don't have to count on the heat from the grill to keep me warm. The restaurant accepts cash and card. I can't say whether this location is accessible via public transportation as I took and Uber to and from the restaurant.

ONE STOP SHOP FOODIES .... Everything about this place is amazing. We are including the food / Drinks which I'm assuming this is why people go correct!? +++ The service is beyond upscale, including food fresh always and ambience amazing , I don't know how many Hibachi , Sushi , Cajun seafood, restaurants everyone else has been so any negative reviews can be put on here if Ikko didn't match we're actually beat the ones you attended !? This is a one stop shop think about it !? No more arguing on what does somebody feel like eating ? Sadly actually nobody is realizing acknowledging and appreciating the accommodations of this restaurant. Please review on what they don't have to offer on their menu!? The staff is amazing they will cater to you and the only reason you may ever get an attitude is because you were giving one to them remember that! Or unless they're extremely busy, But you should be understanding at that point. The ambience is beautiful. As said prior , what more do you want from an establishment. Remember this is a one stop shop as again priorly said you can't go wrong ! Both the hibachi and sushi are delicious here at ikko. It's family friendly and service is great. They serve on a timely manner and are very friendly. I go here often because their service and food are great. It's a chill vibe you can dress up or down totally up to you. They have a bar when you come in not sure if their parking is open as of yet so you might have to find street parking I do it all the time but it's totally worth coming.

Terrible! Literally the service was horrible the second we hit the door. I came here for my sister's graduation dinner and the hostess threw the drink menu at one of her guests and then asked them to move seats TWICE even though they were in front of the grill. We left immediately.

Ordered dinner on a whim and was not disappointed. Ordering by phone was okay I guess...I kept being told to hold on. Order was ready by the time I arrived 15 minutes later and the pick up process inside was simple enough (swipe card, sign, done). Now the actual food. I ordered the American dream roll and the Peking duck spring rolls (duck and mushrooms in a spring roll). I was on the phone when I started eating the sushi roll first. I physically went ummmmm yum. Then I tried the spring roll and it was good too. But then I saw the sauce and poured some over the roll and omg. My sister in my phone was so annoyed with me cause I kept going oh my, this is good. Yum. Etc. I'd go back just for the spring rolls. My only qualm is they are a bit pricey for the area. But I'll definitely be back as I hadn't realized they also have a crab house.

The service is wonderful! The food is spectacular as is the show by the chef. The decor is warm and inviting.

I've been coming here since the grand opening in 2019. This is one of my favorite spots whether it's to catch up with friends, because we're just hungry, or we wanted to get out and not go far. Service is always ALWAYS terrific! The staff is friendly and willing to assist. We order a bunch of things from the menu like apps, rolls etc to share and then we have our entrée and drinks. The drinks are also good. They have sake, wine, cocktails and I'm sure they have beer (but since I don't drink beer don't quote me on that one). The food has always been fresh and they cook things to your preference. If there was something I didn't like it was due to personal choice not because it was something wrong with the ingredients themselves. They also check if anyone has any allergies to anything. Also, there's both a Hibachi side and a regular seating side so you can take your pick of which side you'd like to sit on. Of course I will return!! I have only been given reasons to continue to go back. Also anyone I have ever taken there has enjoyed themselves so it's a win/win. (I will take pictures to share on my next visit.)

Classic Hibachi experience! Average prices. Food was good. Went early on a Saturday afternoon and it was not busy. Loved that they had gender inclusive signage in their restrooms!

So here we go. We ordered non spicy because I have an allergy towards spicy. Asked for garlic and butter. Order said not spicy. When delivered we quickly realized it was spicy due to the color. Called the restaurant and they said that we can get a refund but not on the taxes or delivery charges. So I get to sit here craving a crab boil and have to pay an extra 5 for nothing.

Food is always yummy here! I love that they have a lunch special. I like their carrot ginger salad dressing. The service is good because anyone will assist you. The sushi was good I had shrimp tempura and sweet potato roll before My hibachi. I didn't take pics because I go Here often lol

The food was great the staff was awesome. The atmosphere also was great. Had a good time finding my daughters birthday. The only thing I did not like that they automatically put their own tip on the check and that's illegal already tipped them already.

Today's Service was utterly DISGUSTING!!! The grill was dirty, Cook refused to clean it. He burnt the lobster, Over cooked the steak & when we mentioned it, He refused to cook & serve us the vegetables that WE paid for. We spoke to the manager who in turn justified his NASTY ATTITUDE AND BEHAVIOR. THE ABSOLUTE WORST SERVICE EVER!! THIS PLACE NEEDS TO CLOSE DOWN!!!! HOW ABOUT CONDEMNED!!!!

Been wanting to come here for a while. They did a really nice job on the decor & architecture outside that draws you in. SUPER happy we finally got to eat here. Right now (covid) inside is strictly hibachi, & in the back they have a makeshift "outdoor" seating area, but you're technically inside. Very warm, and well spread out just not the prettiest. Came here on a Monday night so as expected it was slow (not the service) so we were happy it wasn't packed. -American Dream Roll: 5/5, delicious. -Spicy Tuna Roll: 5/5, my goto at any sushi restaurant. But this was amazing. Super fresh fish and packed. No fillers, just very impressive. -Filet Mignon & Chicken hibachi entrees: both 5/5, delicious, perfectly seasoned, marinated, and cooked. Plenty of fresh veggies and not an abundance of cheap zucchini like other hibachi places love to fill your plate with. Fried rice was great too. Overall, I have to say I'm throughly impressed. Our waiter was amazing he was super attentive & very friendly, the food was outstanding, and the overall experience was great. Highly recommend this establishment and plan on having more meals here in the future. Well deserved 5 stars.

Lately I've been on a quest to find dope restaurants within my borough. I had a sudden craving for Hibachi so I opened my Yelp app and looked for a Bronx option. Ikko pops up!! So I headed over around 2pm on a Wednesday. In total there were 4 customers including myself. The decor is beautiful, love the dim lighting, ambience is everything. The chef was hilarious and kept my friend and I entertained. I decided to have the Hibachi Chicken & Salmon. My meal was tasty and perfectly portioned. I also had a Pineapple Express as a cocktail which was very juice like.... hence the 4 stars instead of 5. They've only been open for a month so maybe the bartender can make some adjustments. All in all it was a good time and I would/will return.

Was the worst experience ever Waitress had no personality and nasty attitude. It was my moms 86th birthday and she likes the show, well besides the fire and the onion volcano the guy couldn't care less, and that waitress my brother must've told her thank you at least 15 times and not once did she respond, reply, smile, acknowledge, u pick. Bill was $357 and they gave audacity to add their own gratuity which is probably why they have no personality but my brother gave her an extra $40 and I was livid not only did she not work for it she definitely didn't deserve it. I told my brother he was crazy he said maybe's she'll learn to be nicer to next customers, (we're Spanish) so they probably assumed we don't know how to tip, little did she know I'm a server myself and my husband a bartender, well we're never going back there and we live in the neighborhood. The food was ok and thx God my mom was oblivious my brother & husband entertained mom and still made hee have a much deserved 86th happy birthday

It was my first time visiting this place, Such a beautiful spot! The waitress was super friendly and helpful picking out our dishes ! Food was Delicious & Fresh, they even brought me out ice cream for my bday and sang on the house. Thank you soo much for such a great experience!

Such a great establishment to dine, with family on a date night. The outside looks so nice . The inside is so cool and beautiful. The staff was super nice and delightful. I have been here 3 times , every time is great. The last time I went , I had a party of 8 and they accommodated us perfectly. We even brought 2 cakes and they cut and served them for us. The food is so good here as well. Very tasty. Especially the steaks . If you want to eat from the grill , you have to eat in the front of the restaurant at the regular tables. If you sit at the hibachi table , you can only order hibachi. Either way it's going to be good. The hibachi show is good and the chefs are the nicest people. I love this place . So happy it's in the Bronx , the Bronx deserves great establishments such as this one.

Food is great and service was also very good, but the Waiters and the delivery people hound you tips. The waitress was basically trying to force me to tip her and I ordered IKKO for delivery and the delivery man also hounded me for a tip. It's a huge turn off.

Such a great addition to East Tremont . We have so many options and different cuisine in Throggs neck . This was definitely something that was missing . Ikko has a sophisticated feel to it . The chefs are entertaining , and the food is outstanding . The hibachi menu has many combos to choose from , my favorite is the shrimp and filet mignon. The chef cooked it exactly how I wanted medium well . Although some restaurants skimp on the alcohol , Ikko makes excellent cocktails . The drink menu is creative and has so many exotic drinks to choose from . My favorite is the lychee martini and the Tokyo blue . Ikko is a family friendly , we enjoyed it and will definitely come back !

Ikko was really good hibachi in the Bronx! I came because it was much closer to me and got much better reviews than Benihana. They have very good drinks - I started with the lychee martini and it was the perfect strength and flavor. For hibachi I got chicken and filet Mignon. The hibachi comes with 2 shrimp, noodles, and veggies (you have to pay extra if you want fried rice). All of the food tasted high quality and was very flavorful. It was very simple but done well! I liked that the veggies had broccoli in them. I left very full and satisfied. It's a great place for a special occasion (I came for Mother's Day) that will never disappoint. The venue itself is very large and well decorated (with lit stone tables). I will surely be back soon!

Lovely to have fresh sushi in the neighborhood. I had seaweed salad, eel roll, and sashimi with miso soup. It was pricier than expected but I was not disappointed.

I was greeted up front by a friendly host who escorted me to my table and took my drink orders. We were first escorted to the hibachi area but we opted for the dining area. Make this known when you call for reservations or walk in. The hibachi area was very large and had multiple tables. Neon tables made the look cool. We sat at the dining area with our cold sakes and waited for our appetizer. We had the duck spring rolls. The rolls were nice and hot and the accompanying sauce tasted good. Four small pieces, left you wanting a little more. Next I had the Mongolian beef and my wife ordered the Thai basil chicken. The Thai chicken lacked in flavor but overall not bad. We didn't have dessert but we will next time.

Food was very good. Service was fantastic. The restaurant was fixed up really nice you can get sushi, hibatchi or Asian fusion. We started with the general tso meat balls. Then we ordered the general Tso chicken. (Needed more spice). The house special fried rice was good. And we ordered the Thai basil beef. (Again it was supposed to be spicy). Parking lot is a mess! Too hard to get out!

Recently open in the neighborhood, which is definitely a much needed change in cuisine. The atmosphere is like family style dining, love the energy of the chef. Kept it lively the entire meal. The prices are reasonable. And the ambiance is lovely. We had filet mignon and chicken/ salmon and portion was so big everyone around the table had to get a take away container. Cocktails was delicious. Definitely give it a try, not that we have much choices in Throggs Neck.

It is a fun place and the food it's quite good. They have parking on site. We had the hibachi and we had a blast.

Spur of the moment lunch date. Did not disappoint!!! Hidden gem. Service was quick and friendly. Food was good. Our chef was super funny and made me a flower balloon. (So what I'm an adult!!) Prices were typical for hibachi. Didn't have any drinks but they looked good from what I saw others having.

Great rolls & pretty good service! When my partner and I visited, there were a bunch of return customers who arrived and were welcomed with open arms. Definitely suggest if folks in your party have different wants (hibachi, seafood boil, sushi, Asian entrees). Just one thing that wasn't super great to experience, our server took a peek at how much we left for gratuity while we were still putting our coats on. I noticed someone in a previous review mentioned they had a bad experience surrounding gratuity.

What a yummy spot with strong drinks! I had the chicken and salmon hibachi with fried pork buns. Everything was packed with flavor and the pork buns were super tasty. Others in my party had the buffalo wings and hibachi steak both of which they said were great. Currently, they are only offering outdoor seating to the side of the building (what I assume used to be their parking lot) but it is nicely lit and covered with music playing resulting in a fun atmosphere and the staff is very friendly. I also highly recommend the volcano punch cocktail for two that is VERY Instagram worthy.

Great place. Wonderful staff. Great ambiance. I like that they do not sit you neck and neck with others. Also the chefs we encountered had a great personality. Would absolutely return. Ohhh and last but certainly not least - food is fantastic!

Pros: Sushi was great, flavorful, and nicely rolled. Price was a bit steep for a hand roll but for the quality, I'll give it to them. We did pick up and everything was nicely organized, we got plenty of sauce and our order was filled to a T. Con: What is going on with your boba??? I ordered a Thai milk tea with boba pearls and am very confused about what I got. The milk tea wasn't flavorful (maybe sweetener wasn't added) and the boba pearls themselves were no good. They weren't soft, more like a stale gummy bear. I'm guessing they were either undercooked or just not thawed enough from being frozen.

Sushi and seafood boils are top notch! We order from them frequently. Avoid using 3rd party apps if ordering in they excessively overcharge.

I have been going to ikko for dine in as well as takeout before the whole covid. So I am extremely disappointed with not only this but lack of customer service. So this was the third time giving them a second chance after they gave me rice instead of noodles and they just seemed to brush off the fact I didn't order that she said like "ohhh ok". Today I ordered the steamed shumai and there's a dead bug on it just as I'm about to eat this ! Unacceptable and now no one answers the phone ? I would like a refund or for this to made right since obviously I will not be eating the rest of my food now because this is just disgusting.

This was a very nice experience, my family and I enjoyed the food and our Hibachi chef (Anson) he made my 8 year old love Hibachi food , Anson sings,makes balloons for everyone and entertained us all . The other employees were very nice . We will be going back . Thanks

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE. We ordered $80 worth of food. 1 pound of Lobster tail, shrimp and snow crab legs. First off, they gave us enough food to feed a five year old. Hardly ANYTHING. Deff $20 worth of food. Next, the shrimp has so much sh@! in it!!!! I know this is normal but look at the picture attached. It's like eating from a sewer. Nothing but sh@!. I would NEVER order from here again. And don't tell them you have a coupon because they will SKIMP all your food. DO NOT BUY.

Stopped in with a friend for some dinner and drinks and it was delicious! Ordered some hibachi which was great! Appetizers also very good we had calamari & edamame! I was a bit disappointed with my drinks which were margaritas but were made more as martinis. Over all it was good.

Second time here in a few months. This is a nice spot in the Bronx for hibachi. It's usually always packed during the weekends and the service people are always friendly. In my opinion, it's a little overpriced being where it is, but you're paying for the overall setting. Food is cooked well and next day tastes just as good the next day. Would definitely go back when wanting hibachi in the Bronx!
