Ikon Hotel

Highly recommended staying here. Lovely staff member Laura nothing was too much trouble. The room was huge clean and tidy very comfy bed. Great location walking distance to everything restaurants, shopping and the little penguins 🐧.

The old restored pub accommodation is fantastic. Steve was wonderful at check-in and was very welcoming and was happy to tell about it's history. Great location and really good price for the room size and quality fit out. Do love staying in old pubs and this is up there with the best. Thankyou Steve.

Very friendly helpful staff. The room was like a 1 bedroom apartment! HUGE bedroom, modern bathroom, separate kitchen area, fantastic. Beautiful old hotel with lovely balcony as well. Lots of steps though, not the best for people with joint problems or other mobility issues. Can walk to all shops as it's right in the CBD of Burnie. Very good nightly rate for what you get. Beautiful place, will stay again for sure. Thank you Ikon Hotel. 😊

We came to Burnie to see the penguins and The Ikon Hotel is a fantastic place to stay. It is conveniently located downtown with very easy access to the beach and penquins. Staff was informative and helpful with restaurant recommendations. The room was fabulous - high ceilings, lots of light/windows, huge bathroom and lovely little kitchenette. You could hear a little noise from outside, but did not keep us awake. A few off street parking spots are available. Please note, I do not believe there is an elevator so be prepared to carry luggage up the stairs. Fabulous place!!!

At first glance I thought we were going to be staying above a pub, but that is not the case at all! The room was massive, luxurious and spotless. Robes and spa bath included. Free off-street parking. Basic breakfast (cereal, milk, yoghurt) included in the room which was perfect for us. Really enjoyed staying here and would stay again.

We picked this place after a week’s travelling and hiking and wanted a nice spot for a couple of nights. We weren’t disappointed, what a grand old hotel with heaps off atmosphere. The rooms were huge, we had an ocean view. And the bathroom was massive with an awesome spar bath. It’s a great location, only a five minute walk to see the penguins coming up the beach at night.

My wife and I were in room 1 and it was outstanding. It was beautifully appointed, very spacious and spotless. It had everything we needed and more. The front desk person (Laura) was helpful from the beginning of our stay to the end. There was free secure underground parking for hotel guests nearby. The only word of caution I would give is the rooms are on the second and third story of the building and there is no elevator. So if you struggle with stairs you might want to consider this.
