The Best Family-Friendly Hotels in Spain

"Best for: An all-inclusive stay As you cycle along the boardwalk that leads to Estepona, it’s fun to peek over walls at the other hotels and villas—a Malibu-like jumble of architectural styles that track Marbella’s evolution. Ikos arrived in 2021 with a fresh approach and an aquatic symmetry—buildings are set either side of four main swimming pools, leading down to the beach—that would have the designers of the Alhambra tipping their hat. Dolphin inflatables and pool-side rosé appear throughout the day, the day’s newsletter perused—aqua aerobics at 9a.m., perhaps, with football for teens before lunch. This is the brand’s first hotel outside Greece, but it’s the smartest, an Ibizan-style chiringuito writ large in white walls, rattan, and straw lampshades. Ikos’s great idea was to redefine the all-inclusive concept for those who’d never normally consider it. Room service and bottles of Taittinger are covered, as is a round of golf if desired, and there’s an urban buzz to the many restaurants, mostly devised by Michelin-grade chefs (try the Spanish and Greek first), and bars (cocktails by Shoreditch-based Marian Beke). What’s more, guests are encouraged to connect with the region. A day’s Mini Cooper rental is thrown in and the all-inclusive perks are extended to local restaurants, meaning you never feel boxed in. Price: Garden view room (sleeps 4), from $1,128 per night all inclusive (minimum five night stay)." - Sarah Leigh Bannerman

I highly recommend this hotel. The service is very high, the food is excellent, and the design is beautiful. The hotel is located a bit out of the way, but bicycles and cars are available, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. A large number of pools, beachbeds and beach areas offer plenty of space. The entrance to the sea is rocky, so I recommend wearing swimmingshoes. The hotel is a wonderful place for both family and couples, whether for a birthday, anniversary, or honeymoon. Just let the staff know, and any celebration or occasion will be wonderfully celebrated. This is a place where you can truly rest and relax in beautiful surroundings.

What can I say? THE best hotel we have stayed in many a year. As soon as we entered reception, all staff tried to make eye contact in order to help us check in. Absolutely not the norm in all other places. Lots of pools, service at the pools. Even someone comes around to clean your sunglasses. Food excellent. Service by staff exceptional. Location and views beautiful. Simply amazing and we will be back.

I have always wanted to try an Ikos as wanted more of an upmarket all inclusive that so far I have not found in other so called 5 star resorts. This did exactly that! It was fantastic from beginning to end. The resort was very well kept and the restaurants were all fabulous even the buffet style restaurant. The real stand out were all of the staff. So many of them and they all went above and beyond and looked genuinely happy to be working there. It was more or less full capacity but you could not tell. You do ideally need to book dinner in the restaurants before you arrive to get the best times but they will always manage to accommodate somehow.|The only downside was the beach wasn’t the best but that is out of everyone’s control - it’s not sandy although the water was lovely to look at. Maybe bring some beach shoes as a tip.|Kids clubs, gyms, activities all great. I hope to be lucky enough to return again next year.

Our recent stay at Ikos Andalusia was truly exceptional, exceeding all expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the attentiveness and genuine friendliness of every single staff member. Nothing was too much trouble, and their dedication to ensuring a perfect holiday was clear to see. We want to give special shout-outs to a few individuals who made our stay even more memorable: Bea at the ice cream hut by the family pool was amazing everyday, Tomas the pool waiter was incredibly efficient and friendly, and Laura, Mercedes, and Isabel from the kids' club were fantastic with our daughter. An extra special mention must go to Anita from Guest Services. She was absolutely incredible throughout our stay, going above and beyond to assist us with everything we needed. We are parents of an autistic daughter, so finding a hotel with suitable facilities is paramount, and Ikos Andalusia was absolutely perfect for her. The entire resort, from the pool areas to the dining options, felt incredibly accommodating. The kids' club, in particular deserves immense praise. They were extremely understanding and accommodating of her needs, and nothing was too big of an ask. This level of support truly allowed us to relax and enjoy our holiday knowing our daughter was happy and well-cared for. We cannot recommend Ikos Andalusia enough! This hotel is a true gem, and we will absolutely be back at the next possible opportunity. Thank you for an unforgettable family holiday!

We had a great family holiday here. This hotel has excellent facilities but more importantly the staff are all exceptional.||We will like to thank Dario and his team at the Chiringuito for the great seaside lunches! The paella is recommended! ||Also thank you to Constantinos, Florian and team. They run the best cocktail bar I have experienced for a while and the Old Fashioned is done to perfection.||Thank you to the team Ikos Andalucia

I want to highlight the safety allowed by the food and beverage team, with strong gluten constraint we felt safe and enjoyed our experience as much as possible, I never found a place so keen to apply special protocols to secure the diet is respected. That’s a true relief and it really makes it easier to enjoy vacations. Especially when all of the amenities and services are top level. 👌

Ikos Andalusia is pure luxury from the moment you arrive. The resort is beautifully designed, perfectly maintained, and offers a level of service that’s hard to find elsewhere. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and cared for, always with a smile. The rooms are spacious and elegant, with incredible views. Dining is top-tier, with several à la carte restaurants serving truly impressive meals — all included. The beach is peaceful and private, the pools are stunning, and everything runs so smoothly you’ll forget the outside world exists. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to return to — again and again.

We had the most amazing time at Ikos Andalusia. Our special family holiday was everything we hoped it would be. ||The selection of restaurants was superb, each one of them offering a great selection of meals and high standard of food.||Miguel, our Guest Relations Officer did everything in his power to make sure everything was perfect and kept in touch throughout our stay. Darko looked after us impeccably at breakfast and Vasilis in Fresco made sure that my husband received the exact meal that he requested and had a great sense of humour. However I must say that all of the staff were amazing and treated us like royalty.||I would definitely recommend Ikos Andalusia and wouldn’t hesitate to return there.
