My wife and I spent 6 days in Il Baglio Sull'Acqua and were amazed by the place, sitting at almost within walking distance from Favignana city. The perfectly restoured building from the 19th century is magical and offers stylish 1O rooms. Hence the hotel is quiet and the perfect place to relax and escape from the rather bustling atmosphere in the city. Our host Francesca looked after every detail and organized reservations for restaurants, transfers and came to have a chat every day asking us is everything was upto our expectation. Our room was quite ample and had a private terrace with a huge caught, an umbrella, two lounge-chairs, a table and even a private shower. The restaurant Aziza offers a good selection of dishes, very nicely prepared and presented as well as a good wine card. A very complete breakfast is also served there. Transfers are very frequent and easy from both Trapani and Marsala by high-speed ferry. Francesca recommended a restaurant in the citry nearby (Scaliddre) that served very very classy dished, whie it was quite affordable and offered geat value for money, so a "spot on" suggestion - The only remarks we have is that the area and garden around the swimming pool could be a bit better kept. A paved area for the loungers and the pergola's would be an improvement in our humble opinion. The other point is that the garden partly looks out on a small industrial factory, which is kind of killing a bit of the magic. Yet the many pro's largerly outnumber for the cons. If you are looking for a stylish, tranquil spot for an island holiday, this might be your perfecr choice. Do certainly check out the sunset on the other tip of the Island (Punta Sottile) and book a table in Baia del Faro. You won't be disappointed!
