"Via Dandolo, an early 20 th -century street, winds its way up the slopes of Rome ’s Janiculum Hill from Trastevere to Monteverde Vecchio. Along its sinewy path are villas built for elite families during the 1920s and ’30s. Leafy gardens are abundant with jasmine and shaded by palms. This is a part of the city that visitors rarely get to experience, but Angelo Angius has transformed the top floors of a villa into an attractive B&B providing a unique peek into a secret side of Rome. Il Boom’s three spacious, light-filled rooms are each named for an Italian actress—Sofia Loren, Monica Vitti, Anna Magnani—and have artwork to match. Loren has a view of the surrounding gardens, Magnani has a view of Rome, and Vitti has a private balcony. The common areas include two panoramic terraces outfitted with umbrellas, deck chairs, and tables. There are three cats and five turtles that hang out in the communal garden."

Great home, great hosts, great neighborhood! Il Boom was our first stop in Italy after and overnight flight, such a great place to wander out from. Trestevere is lively and fun, and an easy walk or bus to major tourist sights, great restaurants, etc. Nothing beats staying in a beautiful home with a terrace overlooking the city, honestly. Angelo was super helpful, we’ll stay here again if we get lucky enough to visit Rome!

I would absolutely recommend staying at Il Boom! Angelo was a very welcoming and helpful host. The room was clean and spacious, and the entire place is fitted out with quirky retro decorations. The rooftop terrace is a great place to enjoy the delicious breakfast, relax after a hard day of touristing, or sit back and watch the tortoises chase each other around. Located in a quieter part of Trastevere, but just a short walk (less than 10 mins) to all of the area's amazing bars and restaurants. Highly recommended!

My fiance and I stayed here from September 24th-28th, 2017, and we couldn't have been happier. The rooms feature wonderful views and ample space, as well as comfortable beds. The owner, Angelo, was extremely nice and took care of anything we needed. If you're staying in Rome, stay here, you will not regret it!

Me & my boyfriend stayed here for two nights during one of the most bussy times in Rome and had a great experience. Angelo received us very warmly and gave a map with all the instrutions needed. Room was very beautiful with a vintage style and private bathroom outside the room. Both very confortable and artistic decorated. Room has a lot of light because of the big windows in it and air conditioning is a plus in the summer. Something special: breakfast! OMG never seen a breakfast so complete. It serves until midday and has everything you can think of, from cookies and sweet tarts to eggs, ham and cheese, nutella, breads, juice, coffee, yogurt, even home made styled treats like brownie! I almost forgot about the terrace: a beautiful outdoor space with a gourgeus green atmosphere that really invited us to spend time there. So everything was just more than expected and we really recommend! Another plus: location! Bye Angelo, hope to be back one day :)

Not a review, but just thinking of our wonderful stay last year and hoping you are safe during these awful times.

Yelp
We are here now and this place is awesome. The surronding are quite and bohemian and close to down town but far enough to have a peaceful stay in Rome. Decoration is beautifully detailed in a vintage style and confort is unique. Breakfast goes from eggs and cheese to home made pastry, it has everything and moren and the terrace oh my god! is amazing... If you are coming to Rome, this is the place to stay. :) The owners are very nice and provides all the info about this antique city. We are very happy to have found Il Boom! :)
