When you want a quite and very cozy place to dine, warm hearted people and great food, this is your place! The wine was exceptionall! Even though eating Italian food on a Greek island sounds odd at first sight, Il Casta is here to change your mind. Must-go on Hydra!!

Small restaurant with great cooking! Delicious dishes with authentic Italian spirit...

Georgeous courtyard and open kitchen at the back. Decoration in an authentic and chic Italian way places you in context . People come eating elegantly dressed and food is refined. Pasta are homemade and sauces are delicate . I recommend the bruschetta with chopped celery which is really a refreshing twist. Burrata is exquisite and Sicilian dessert perfect!

Tip: book a table in advance. Understandably a popular restaurant with some of the best Italian dishes we’ve had. Diverse menu choices for all. Quaint and cute atmosphere with attentive service. What an amazing Italian restaurant, I had probably the best ravioli I’ve ever had, my husband had the prime beef fillet which was again so tasty, I also had muscles to start so tasty. It lived upto its expectations, will surely be going again.

The food at Il Casta is top-notch—fresh and bursting with flavors. I look forward to visiting multiple times during my trips to Hydra.

We were early, so they were able to fit us in without a reservation, but I highly recommend a reservation. All the pasta is hand made and the food was just amazing. I had the ravioli ragu and my husband had the shrimp with pasta. Both were excellent. Since I was only have a glass of wine, I ordered the house white. It was excellent and the best house white I had during our trip. The service was excellent and it was clear that Pietro and his team care deeply about the product they deliver to their customers. Since we didn't want to overstay our time given they fit us in before their other reservations arrived, we didn't have dessert, but I would bet $ that it would be fantastic. Il Casta was one of our favorite restaurants from our three and a half weeks in Greece.

The pasta would be excellent even if were in the heart of Italy. And the chef-owner and staff are truly delightful. And a uniquely compelling vibe to boot. Totally recommended if you can get a table.
