Il Farnaio is offering some of the best pizza you’ll ever taste. This pizzeria masterfully blends tradition and innovation, creating pizzas that are not only visually stunning but also packed with incredible flavors. The menu features a perfect balance of classic Italian recipes and creative modern combinations, all made with top-quality ingredients. Whether you go for a traditional Margherita or a more adventurous option with gourmet toppings, every pizza is baked to perfection—crispy, airy crust with just the right amount of chew, and toppings that burst with flavor. Beyond the food, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a welcoming staff that makes the experience even better. Whether dining in or grabbing a slice to go, Il Farnaio never disappoints. If you’re in Bergamo and love great pizza, this is a must-visit spot. It’s the kind of place that turns a simple meal into a memorable experience!

Il Fornaio, perched up in the Città Alta, attempts to woo you with rustic charm and the promise of wood-fired wonders. And, to be fair, the pizza, when it arrives, is a decent enough specimen, a thin, crisp base doing its best to hold up under the weight of whatever artisanal toppings they’ve decided to fling at it. But, oh, the theatrics! The waiters, bless their cotton socks, are practically auditioning for an opera, all sweeping gestures and pronouncements of "molto bene!" while you're just trying to get a glass of the house red. The place is a delightful, if slightly over-caffeinated, tourist trap. One can imagine a busload of eager visitors, snapping pictures of the massive oven, and declaring it a 'must-see' on their trip to Bergamo. It is a spectacle as much as it is a restaurant, and one must admit the spectacle is rather entertaining.

A classic touristy spot—crowded but efficient. Service was quick, though the pizza leaned a bit salty for my taste. They were too busy to clean the tables promptly, but we managed to find a spot upstairs. The space there felt a bit bare, with plain walls and no decoration.

The best focaccia I ever eat! No. 1 Fresh, crispy and tasty. I ate many of them before, this is fantastic.

There was a big queue and from the outside the pizza looks amazing - Sadly it didn’t live up to the hype.. Pizza: 5️⃣ way too salty, definitely not worth the price (my slide was €8.6) Staff: 9️⃣ friendly tho, which was a plus

Great quality pizza and local beer. There's usually a line but it moves very quickly. You take a number and wait for your turn to order.

It was quite a busy spot, but we didn’t have to wait long. We originally came for coffee and dessert, but the pizza caught our eye. It was the first time I’d seen pizza sold by weight! It looked so good, absolutely delicious and really whet our appetites.

Oh wow, you need to stop by here for some pizza, fantastic spot, and the pizza options are amazing and well topped. It's a little confusing how the service works, as Brit we love to queue but in here you walk in grab a ticket and wait for your number to be called (old school like you were in a deli/butcher) making it a lot quicker to be served. We picked two to share, and my gosh, the size of the slices are big, so go with an appetite. There is seating available with additional seating upstairs. We did visit on an extremely busy day for the town, but that didn't detract from how good the pizza was.
