"Al Giardinetto, a casual pizza spot, just outside of Venice between Mestre and Marghera, is a solid choice for lunch if you're visiting Andrea Palladio's Villa Foscari, just down the road. The move: Skip the slightly clinical interior and grab one of the outside tables in the back. It's all about pizza here, and you can't go wrong if you stick to classics like prosciutto e funghi or a spicy diavolo. The dough isn't on the super-thin side—it's substantial, lightly charred, and chewy." - Andrea Whittle

Coperto is 2€ per person. After a day of driving, we got out for dinner as recommended by our hotel. They have ample free parking which is not connected to the building so if it's raining, you will arrive wet inside. The pasta carbonara was very tasty and served nicely. The water and capuccino were brought fast. The pizza Campana was very thin, swimming in tomato sauce, and it was meh .. better pick another one. Marta from the staff was very welcoming, attentive, and always smiling at us .. top service from her and another lady colleague. On the other hand, the romanian lady with curly hair made us feel very uncomfortable, which ruined the positive impression from the good food and great Aperol. The prices are very good and with the right choice and less grumpy staff, it can go up to 5*

Google
Amazing restaurant and highly recommend! Food was great, didn’t wait too long. We sat in the garden and had a pleasureful atmosphere with good music. Price was alright as well. We were served by great waiter Vera. Spoke English and helped with menu choice. Offered to take away the food we couldn’t finish. We booked same restaurant for the next day as it was best food in Venice. For the price and size the pizza was the best.

I visited this restaurant based on a recommendation from my Airbnb hosts, and I feel it is important to share my experience. While the food was acceptable—I ordered the steak with rosemary, which was decent but not remarkable—the overall atmosphere and service left much to be desired. If you are a Black family, be prepared for noticeable stares upon entering, though they do subside after a while. However, what truly made this an unpleasant experience was the service. The waitstaff was noticeably cold and unwelcoming. While I observed them engaging warmly with Italian patrons, offering menu explanations and well wishes, my experience was markedly different. Given the lack of hospitality and the stark contrast in treatment, I cannot recommend this restaurant. That said, this review is not recorded as an official complaint, but rather a personal account for consideration.

Google
Absolutely terrible service, server gave us our fries and then 20 minutes later the rest of our food arrived, and then she dumped the food on our plate and then started fussing the dog on the table next to us!! No offer of any drinks, pepper or anything else! And then we questioned what the additional charge was for and the guy (owner perhaps) was rude and aggressive towards us. Food lovely so a real shame. Would not recommend

Google
recommended by our host and it did not disappoint! we tried the half calzone half pizza and it was 10/10. You have to try this place and its mainly locals so you know its good! Its away from the central which also means not disgustingly overpriced or a tourist trap.

We ate multiple times in this place during our visit, never disappointed. Pizzas are great and seafood dishes were just amazing. Service was fast, even though the place was a little crowded. Car parking is available on the street nearby. One of the best restaurants in the area in my opinion and the prices are not too high either.

Google
One of my best meals throughout my trip in Italy. The pizzas and calzones are absolutely amazing, and so are their pastas. I loved their gnocchi ragu and seafood pasta. It’s a large restaurant with a large menu serving authentic Venetian cuisine, where many locals dine in. Price is reasonable and more importantly service is very good! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Google
I would definitely recommend a visit here, for the delicious food and great aperols, they were 3.5€ and the margherita pizza was only 5.5€, big portions which we barely finished but we were happy and full, the environment is cozy and clean. We will definitely come back! 😊

Yelp
Best food and service I've had in Italy! Waiters were so kind and helpful, had an English menu, very quick.

Yelp
Great food! You can taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients. All the employees are very friendly and willing to accommodate you even if you don't have a reservation. Would recommend!

Yelp
I do not have anything but glowingly positive things to say. Everything was so delicious, I am thankful to have been recommended this place. I had a half pint of prosecco for 7 euro (which was a lot). And then the pizza was amazing and the dessert was really good too.

Yelp
Our first meal in Italy! Supposedly if you share food in Italy it's considered rude, so we all got our own pizzas. This was a mistake considering how massive it was! I got a ham and artichoke pizza. The ham tasted like American ham (you know, that processed meat, which I'm surprisingly okay with). The cheese was absolutely delicious! Their mozzarella is way better, not surprised there. Also, I loved how it was thin crust! My friend had olives on hers, and apparently all the olives in Italy are pitted! Strange, but I guess you know it's fresh that way. We only ate half and reheated the other half for breakfast the next morning and it was still good! The pizzas here were only around 8 euros, which is super cheap for the size they give!

Yelp
So happy I found this restaurant down the street from our air bnb. It's located in a small neighborhood, the tables and furnished are very nice. We were greeted as soon as we walked in with bread for our table. The server was very kind and patient (we've had so not so nice experiences as tourists when we were in Rome). Now the food.....spaghetti alle vangole/spaghetti with clams was amazing. Noodles cooked perfectly al dente, with SO much flavor. I would come back for seconds. We had the tira misu and it's was very good. Authentic and homemade definitely recommend.

Yelp
Not as good as reviewed good. Be aware of cover charge of 2 euros per person and check the bill before you sign They mixed up with other tables. Foods were mediocre compare to others We had much better spagetties at the shopping mall

Yelp
We stayed in Holiday Inn which is 10-15 min walk and all three days we dined in this magnificent place! We fell in love from the first bite and each night we tried different pizza with muscato bottle - the heaven on earth does eshist! We will deffinetly remember this lovely restaurant and hope to come back some day for more!

Yelp
The atmosphere was amazing but the pizza was lacking on a taste department compared to whatever you get in Italy. We loved the area outside and incense burning around made it even better.

Marah M.

Yelp
Delicious!!! If we could have, we would've gone back for more. We had pizza- swordfish carpaccio, prosciutto and honey, and the roasted vegetable. Oh. My. Goodness. Delicious. The prosciutto and honey was definitely our favorite. Their eat-in menu looked delicious as well!

Yelp
My wife and another couple ate here (at Yelp's recommendation) and we were very impressed. The oven and pizza prep area is visible at the entrance and were top-notch. We had two pizzas (Pugliese and Strega), the pork Milanese, and the Veal Scallopini. All were excellent and well presented. We asked for a classic Chianti but they didn't have any and recommended a local Valpolicella (Monte del Fra) instead. It was quite good. The desserts were all very good, too - Crema Catalana, Chocolate cake, and Profiteroles). The place is run by a local family and several dedicated employees, who gave us good service even when things got busy. If we were staying another day we would eat here again.

Yelp
Try making up your mind on which pizza to chose from! If you imagine the perfect Italian pizza, this is the place to get it!

Yelp
We have one been in Italy for 5 days now but this has been our favorite restaurant, by far. The food is excellent and very good value. The mainly local clientele supports this observation as well. Great pizza selection and equally tasty. The pasta and large salads also delicious. Desserts were homemade and not pre-bought like those we found in some other restaurants. Ask to be seated in the beautiful garden area.

Yelp
Super yummy! So many choices! Chic and comfortable. Try the smoked ricotta pizzas! Grateful for the small beer sizes, half a pizza was enough for me, had the rest as a delicious breakfast pizza....
