So glad we stopped in here. Food is amazing and for how busy this Cafe is on a Sunday morning, the service is exceptionally quick. Coffee was the highlight, I drink piccolo and it's very hard to find a decent one. We enjoyed the prawn Omelette, beef tartare and some breakfast cocktails. We weren't aware it was table service on the alfresco so I lined up to order and my husband doubled up our order by placing it at the table. This was easily rectified by staff (our mistake). Because of this confusion, we left without paying and got half way home to Mandurah before we realised. Called and gave our credit card details over the phone after apologising profusely! If you want a seat inside it would be best to book, as the overflow are seated outside, which is still gorgeous and a great view of the ocean. The best decision the owner / manager has made is the number of staff rostered on. There are a lot of people working here and it is also well oiled machine. If we didn't live so far away we would be back every day.

Had a great early evening dinner here. Was outside for the sunset, took a while to be served. But once they did, everything was amazing. Food, was fresh and delicious. If you do want to sit outside, be aware that the area is quite small so it gets busy quickly. Thank you guys

Google
We got the ravioli, gnocchi, potato skins and some salad. Everything was great, the ravioli was my fav- really packed a punch with the flavours! The gnocchi’s texture was very interesting too. Perfect dinner/ hangout after catching the sunset at cottesloe.

We went for dinner, it was lovely for the atmosphere and view. The chargrilled octopus was our favourite. A bit slow on the mains, I think our order was forgotten. It was nice but I think there are other places I love so much more!

This great Italian joint was such a nice surprise. We were originally planning to have lunch elsewhere which was closed so rerouted to this place instead. And it was a great decision indeed. All the food was delicious, the atmosphere was very warm and pretty, and the service quite efficient. Highly recommended for a lunch by Cottesloe Beach!

Google
We popped in while visiting from interstate, not knowing anything about the place, for a quick Monday lunch. Ended up having one of the best vongoles I've ever had and my mate's gigli with sausage was great too. Attentive service, fantastic Negronis and a great selection of wine. Discovered a new one from Sicily and had my first ever cold brew Negroni. A must visit in Perth.

All the dishes that we ordered were way out of expectations. The flavors were rich and delicious. The olives were a highlight. I do not like olives at all, but the flavor of the dish was so interesting and I loved it. I also enjoyed my drink. The vibe next to the ocean at sunset was amazing. The only thing that forced me to take one star away would be the portion. My partner and I didn’t not feel like we had enough food paying the price. The services were wonderful, and everyone working there was friendly as well. Overall we had a good time having a birthday dinner ☺️

The lamb was so delicious! Gnocci was alright. Nothing special, the seafood pasta had many small bits of shell inside. Wasn’t pleasant to eat 🥹

Yelp
I tried here. I sat at the bar and had a beer. I asked for a menu. After one beer and half an hour, no one bothered to ask if I wanted to order food. So I left. The place looks nice. Seems a bit expensive. The beer was a brand sold widely in the Perth area, so I can't give or take points for that. Service leaves a lot to be desired. But on the positive side - no one will bother you here. You can sit and enjoy your beer in peace and solitude. Then leave and find a place that wants to feed you.

Yelp
This is a lovely local Italian restaurant with a diverse menu for everyone. Recommended by a local and it lived up to expectations. It would rival any restaurant in any city. The wine list is extensive with a good sommelier to help. Very friendly and professional staff. Highly recommended

Yelp
Always a favourite. The Sunday lasagna for two is delicious.. great wine list too and the waiters know their wines Reached/ Smart casual but with high prices- however worth it imo.

Yelp
I'd been here for breakfast and brunch over the years but never a weekday lunch. It was a sunny but chilly day in Perth and I wanted a beach fix without freezing. Il Lido delivered! The setting is warm and inviting with long communal tables, a huge wall of wine, a small built in bar and ocean views through the windows. What a treat! Food, drinks and service were all as excellent as I'd remembered. Settling for an Italian Chardonnay, our waitress asked if we liked the oaked kind. ABSOLUTELY! So we switched to a local Porongorup variety and weren't disappointed. Common loaf bread and olive oil helped fill the void until our meals arrived. My man had salmon on a bed of cannellini beans and tomatoes with harissa and gave it the thumbs up. I was ecstatic that the gnocchi was dairy-free, and ate every pillowy piece with a good chunk of tomato sauce. Heaven. We left more than satisfied, sleepy from the wine but refreshed from the sunny ocean views. I can't wait to come back for dinner! Oh, the best bit? Total bill was just under $90, and that was for a quart of the Chardonnay. Thanks Il Lido for proving you are a star at every meal, every season!

Yelp
Il Lido delights diners with stylish beachside dining that complements the area perfectly. In terms of design, this is the most attractive dining space along Marine Parade. The best in terms of food? It's debatable. What's unique about Il Lido is the seating. The main restaurant has rows of communal timber tables that stretch from wall to wall. Some people are opposed to the communal seating but I think it adds to the fun atmosphere. It's only awkward if you're seated next to a rowdy group or an uncomfortable first date. There are some high tables at the entrance, best for enjoying wine and a tapas or two. Outside is Fanta colored alfresco seating, for those wanting to enjoy the aquamarine ocean views. The restaurant is airy with high ceilings and large windows. Stripes of colour on the walls and petite vases of hydrangeas add a touch of fun. The menu centers on contemporary Italian cuisine and they're open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Menus are small and feature mainly seafood. I tried dinner here a fair while ago and there was mixed reviews. My snapper dish hit he spot, but another meal at my table fell below expectations. It was a bland lemon risotto with two measly scallops; a failed attempt to think outside the square. The food is quite pricey and probably above what it deserves. I tried breakfast this morning it cost me $23 for smoked salmon, poached eggs on potato and corn cake. The coffee is just okay and they were a little skimp with the chocolate sprinkles on my cappuccino. Overall - vibrant atmosphere hit and miss food, and you pay for the view.

Yelp
Went there with my guests to celebrate my birthday on a Monday night. I can't help but express my big disappointment at the end of the night. It so happens that, of the 20 guests I was expecting for dinner, only 11 showed up and, after we sang happy birthday, the waiter informed me that the cake would be taken to the kitchen to be cut. Each of us (12 people) then received our normal-sized pieces of cake, but the rest of the cake made to serve 22 people did not return to the table in case someone wanted a second piece... When I asked for my box with the rest of the cake I was told that we had eaten all the cake and so I replied that it was impossible since no one got a huge piece of cake or repeated it and that there must have been between 8 and 10 pieces left and then one of the staff replied that he saw the cake in the kitchen but did not know what had happened to the rest of the cake. Just because of that, I already felt extremely disrespected and cheated... I felt bad on my birthday night. To make matters worse, when it came time to pay the bill that was more than $700, I was charged $42 just for taking a cake inside the restaurant. I found this absurd since I was not warned at any time about the charge of this fee before. I felt extremely wronged and sucked, paying $42 for someone at the restaurant to eat almost 50% of my birthday cake that I expected to take home. I found it impolite and extreme rudeness coming from such a fancy restaurant that, despite the good service and good food, I do not intend to return nor recommend it. I sent the manager an email 1 months ago talking about this and never heard back.

Yelp
"Fluff up your pasta to make it look like it's more" Actual quote from the waitress at this venue when 3 of the same meals came and all were different sizes, including one incredibly small serving. Wow, being your own fluffer is an unexpected request at a restaurant, sadly I can confirm it was not an eggplant pasta (insert eggplant emoji and joke here), sorry team! So.. Papa bear had a decent size. Mama bear serving was ok but poor baby bear got a tiny serve and on complaining we were told the above. They wouldn't redo the dish, was just told they weighed the pasta the same.. erm check your eyes kiddo! Absolute disgrace of a place. Expensive, bland rubbish with terrible service. Avoid! Or maybe order an eggplant involved pasta instead. Fluff indeed! Lol

Yelp
Came here for a birthday lunch. Had the veal and pork polpette for entree. Orciette for main. The food was delicious. Very simple ingredients yet extremeley tasty. Serving sizes are good. Extensive wone list staff were helpful with suggesting a pairing with the meals. Left with a full belly. Would definitely come back. 5/5

Yelp
This restaurant has a great atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor seating. Full bar with an elaborate wine selection. The Roberto Lasagna is phenomenal!!!! The portion size is enough for 2-3 adults. Please be advised it is only served on Sunday's. 5 stars all the way!! Our server was also well above Perth standards.

Yelp
In the almost 8 years that I have had the pleasure of dining at Il Lido I have never, ever, had a bad meal here. The food, service and view are always exceptional. That having being stated, the Uber Blonde and I have always dined alfresco, rain or shine, as the noise inside is debilitating at best. And as it was on a hot, breezy summer Sunday arvo we rocked up to see what was new. Going here mid-afternoon is the deal. Just fairy-faced coffee drinkers around and plenty of room to spread yourselves out. As I have said in many reviews, the staff at restaurants like Il Lido, the Biv, Bread in Common and No Mafia to name a few, are driving table service to where it should be. Efficient, courteous and knowledgeable staff are really making venues stickier - people stay longer, and spend more, because they are made to feel comfortable and content. And it all appears effortless. Love it! Anyhoo back to Il Lido. We kicked off with a superb pair of Rossi & Riccardo Proseccos from Veneto ($13), perfect for such warm digs and ordered the Pork & Duck stuffed Zucchini flowers with Apple ($17). A couple of new items caught our eye so we threw caution to the wind and also laid in the Clams with prosciutto, garlic and parsley $16 (neither of us ever had clams before - I know, so bohemian!) and threw in the Potatoes with rosemary, garlic salt and lemon aioli ($10) and greened up with the Wild Rocket with lemon and olive oil ($9). It sounds a lot but these are actually tapas sized serves and well adequate for two. The last of the arvo coffee set had departed and we had the place to ourselves. It is beautiful to sit with a chilled glass of wine looking straight out to Rottnest - bit like a picnic without the ants. The food arrived along with two delicious Mancini Roncaglia Albanella 2011 from Marche in Italy ($13). Any trepidation about clams was swept away in one taste - just fab and a perfect foil for the plump and juicy zucchini flowers. The potatoes appeared as wedges, a bit surprising but perfect for jus mopping duty. The rocket was also great - crisp and salty. Yum. Yet another perfect Il Lido experience. How you can maintain such quality in a menu over so long defeats me but we will be back just to make sure they don't drop the ball.

Yelp
Dinner at Il Lido was fantastic. It has new owners, one of which is the ex-sommelier from Print Hall (previously Quay) so you know the wine list is top notch. We were fortunate that on the night they were doing complimentary wine tasting with an importer so we indulged in a few tasting before dinner. The food was great and it had improved in leaps and bounds since my last visit. We started with croquettes and gnocchi which were lovely. The gnocchi were little pillows of joy. Mains were duck and fish and they were perfectly cooked. Dessert was this chocolate salted caramel mousse half sphere that was delectable. They also do breakfast and have a view of the ocean, what more could you want?

Yelp
Just A Lido More ... Dropped in here today for a casual brekkie before checking out the sculptures by the sea across the road the morning. The waitresses were pretty friendly and warned us the wait for a coffee was currently at 25 minutes. (YES THATS 25 minutes for a COFFEE). We ended up being shown to a table not 5 minutes later and the water and glasses were already set on the table. A good start. We decided to order a coffee and some tea against their advice hoping for the best. For a bit we ordered the Blueberry Pikelets with fresh whipped cream and maple syrup and what I would term Il Lido's version of a big breakfast. Another 10 minutes or so passed and the coffee and tea came out. Earlier than expected so that was a pleasant surprise. Here is were the experience went a little south. Food came out not much later and while I was reasonably impressed by my coffee and blueberry pikelets though they definitely weren't very filling so for $15 dollars a pop okay value but nothing special in regards to food on plate for money value. Another thing of note is the interior. Nothing that special. And don't look up ... otherwise you see all the stains on the ceiling. Not really a flash set up. The photography on the official site is VERY GENEROUS in this area. The big breakfast came in at a WHOPPING $25 dollars for a basic big breakfast without ANY expensive extras e.g. salmon, avocado etc. The bread was also very average and nothing special. This particular meal was quite average and the mushrooms/baked beans were already borderline cold. Not once were we asked how our meals were, even when paying at the till. So service was up and down. The food was hit and miss also. Like a select few are saying I fail to understand the hype here. Probably won't be back for breakfast but might give it one more chance for dinner in future. Quite expensive so far for little bang. Consider your options ...

Yelp
Seaside location, a kitchen that doesn't close, and fresh creative food. Lots of reasons to love this place, which is located in an interesting old pack house of some sort (but a fresh coat of paint wouldn't hurt!) There is outdoor seating for the Latte-sipping cyclists, an indoor high-table-barstool area for the hipper crowd, and the main area with 4 long tables for 'communal dining'. Even from inside there are views / glimpses of the glorious coastline but windows are narrow; so focus is on the food and conversation, as it probably should be. We ordered some creative arancini, a delicious chargrilled squid, and a tagliatelle that was a long time waiting. This plus a quart (3 glasses) of red set us back $90 which was a bit steep. Also, some of the pasta had been cooked glued to each other, which is never a good sign. Overall quite nice, but not great, especially considering the prices.

Yelp
I was a little underwhelmed by Il Lido. I went on a beautiful day for lunch, and the views were quite spectacular, but it was a bit hot to done outside. Inside, I was quite surprised to find long benches in lieu of tables, which made for an interesting dining experience. I very much like the idea of it, people coming together to share food and catch up - it would be a great place to accommodate larger groups. The decor is quite interesting, and I love the wine bottles that line the walls. I think some of the artwork was a strange choice, but all in all, it has quite an authentic Italian feel. We were seated promptly and given menus, our order was taken quite quickly and the waitress was quite friendly and efficient. The bread we ordered came out almost immediately, and it seemed like an entire loaf was cut up - definitely a lot more than we were expecting. Our mains came out shortly after, and this is where I was slightly underwhelmed. The pasta wasn't fantastic, and there was hardly any sauce. The mushrooms mixed through it were the highlight of the meal for me. They were packed full of flavour and perfectly cooked. The pasta itself wasn't as soft as it should have been, and quite flavourless, which made me question if it was handmade. I'd really like to give 3.5 stars - all in all, the food wasn't bad, but I can't help but feel it was a little overpriced for the dish that was served. I'd definitely come back, but I would probably steer clear of the pasta.

Yelp
Stunning food and great ambiance, with the long tables creating an Italian family meal feel (as portrayed in magazines and adverts!). The wine list is impressive, the food was fresh and tasty; we started with bread and olives, and then shared three entrees between the six of us. We followed with a main course each (lamb, pork, risotto, ravioli and one lasagna special for two). We were stuffed, luckily the weather enticed us to walk part of it off along the seafront. Not cheap, but great for a family or friends catchup lunch (our total bill was $365 which included a nice bottle of Italian wine).

Yelp
Tasty savoury muffin will always have my name on it. Very friendly and timely service. Fruit toast on continental style bread with whipped butter - delicious. Background fusion - sole/jazz/funk. High ceilings. You'll love this place. Can't wait to return for dinner in summer.

Yelp
My husband and I really enjoyed dinner here. We liked the communal tables, which gives the restaurant a laid back, cozy feel. Alex our server was awesome, we took all his recommendations. Cuttlefish fish appetizer was spicy and got our appetites going. I had spatch cock, sort of like a quail, and it was cooked perfectly. My husband had the pork belly, a little fatty but also cooked on point, and the sweet potatoes on the side were delish. Broccolini with garlic and lemon was the surprising favorite and was a great addition to the mains. We had the trifle for dessert (Alex's recommendation); it was better than I thought it would be although very rich. I also stopped in here a couple of times during our week stay in Cottesloe just to sit and have coffee, lovely way to while a way a couple of hours, and not crowded at all mid-morning.
google avatar

Andrew P.

Yelp
Starters of tuna capaccio, scallops with cauliflower, arancini balls and squid accompanied by some sparkling wine kicked off a good start to the evening. Unfortunately after the the starters and wine had stimulated the appetite further we were all left waiting for more than an hour for the mains to arrive. This was really disappointing and prompted me to flick through other yelp reviews one of which talks about waiting 25 minutes for a coffee... Oh dear.... So the mains arrived and I was happy with the way my pappardelle duck pasta with radicchio and broad beans was presented.. Some cracked pepper and I was quiet whilst enjoying the pasta. Yes, the service was slow but the pasta was delicious. Around the table we had some mixed feedback.... Some people just didn't enjoy their meals and the wait time really didn't set a great mood prior to the meals arriving. So overall I didn't mind the experience but there was room for improvement. Waiting too long killed the mood.
google avatar

Peter C.

Yelp
The worsted service in the world. The pasta was also very undercooked. I could see the white in the middle. Just PATHETIC.
google avatar

Megan S.

Yelp
Il Lido continues to be such a trendy hot spot in Cottesloe. I pretty much ticks every box aesthetically when you walk into the spacious tall rectangle of a building through the narrow entrance. The coffees here are reasonably priced and I usually have them on go but it is also nice to relax on the long wooden tables behind the counter with a delicious muffin. I have contemplated eating lunch or dinner here but I never really feel like sea food so I usually give it a miss. The people that work here are really friendly and attentive you know that Il Lido will be at Cottesloe for a long long time and earn an even more iconic status with the area.
google avatar

Helene P.

Yelp
Very nice restaurant in Cottesloe. Great place open from breakfast to dinner. I had the spaghetti with nduja and it was delicious, and the portion quite large, I couldn't finish. The smoky squid entree is another dish I would recommend. Service was friendly, the wine list extensive and it had the right atmosphere for a dinner date. Overall a really nice venue, although I'm not sure if it's completely worth making your way to Cottesloe for it if you don't love around there.
google avatar

Natalie T.

Yelp
It's a lovely feeling when you walk into this corner restaurant. Surrounding the long wooden tables are rows and rows of any type of wine or spirit you'd ever want to try. The atmosphere is jovial and warm. I come here every year on my sister's birthday after we watch the sunrise from the beachfront across the street. It's a magical moment, further improved by hearty breakfast food. For the food, drink, and cosy environment, I'd highly recommend going this place a try.
google avatar

Jacqui E.

Yelp
The atmosphere here is great, but it's busy, shared table style - so book ahead! We got a spot in their "Spaghetti Room" which seated about 10 and was much quieter and intimate. They have a good winelist which you can order by the glass, quart or bottle. I really enjoyed the 2 wines I had - though can't remember which ones! Our entrees were good, the green olive and taleggio aracini were nice though a bit ho hum, however we LOVED the beef carpaccio, it was full of flavour and we could've eaten that a million times over! Our mains were the highlights - they make their own pasta/gnocchi and so we went for those. I had tomato gnocchi and the fella got the ragu, and we LOVED them. The gnocchi was light and the sauce was so full of flavour. The ragu tasted great as well, the fella RAVED about it - we were meant to swap but didn't end up wanting to because we were enjoying our own so much! Dessert was good - my lemon tart was disappointingly lacking in filling, but looked great, and covered in blueberries and grapes. The fella ordered an over the top chocolate cake with ice cream which he loved but at that stage of the night was a bit much, it was a big serve! We got dessert wines as well, I couldnt go past the limoncello ($10) and S had a port (was only $5!). It was an expensive night, coming in at $228 for 2 of us, but we ordered EVERYTHING. The pasta was a highlight, and the service was good but a little bit impersonal - we wanted to tell them how good things were but they never asked us and weren't that keen on engaging in much conversation. I would def go back but would stick with only ordering a few things!!
google avatar

Ravi R.

Yelp
Situated right next to iconic Cottesloe Beach - perfect location for a lovely dinner. Service is good and attentive but on slower side. Mostly Italian menu but has some other types of salads and meals on offer. Serving size is a bit on the smaller size and pricing is more on the higher end for the quality of food they serve. Don't understand the hype for this place, they have a nice Italian wine list though.
google avatar

Andrew O.

Yelp
Risotto with scallops and Prosecco (guess who), hand made gnocchi, which was the best I've had for years. What a meal - what a sunset. A really cool spot that has the sense not to overplay its beachside location. Old silent movies on the wall and a playlist that Keeno is still trying to extract from them, and Keeno is a very hard music marker. We had dinner a couple of times and brekky a couple of times as we were staying twenty seconds away. Coffee and brekky were brilliant. Could not have dreamt of a better local place. This place is fantastic in many ways - without being eastist, I didn't expect this.
google avatar

Holly D.

Yelp
Came here last night with a few friends, long seats so maybe not great for a romantic date. Soft lighting and friendly atmosphere. Our waiter was a beautiful flamboyant blonde babe and he told us all about the wine list which was very helpful. The menu is traditional italian, simple dishes of pasta or meat. Food was perfect, exactly how it's supposed to be. I would compare this place with modo but il lido is much more friendly and a lot cheaper! I would definitely come back!
google avatar

Monica Z.

Yelp
A lovely place to go for brunch after a dip in the ocean! We sat outside (due to our attire) and were promptly given some water and our menus. There's something about Perth breakfasts at the moment...no two places are ever the same, with cafes and patrons becoming more adventurous with their menus. Il Lido is no different. I ordered their Bircher muesli (they didn't have any porridge left) and was treated to a delicious combination of fruit and Greek yoghurt, not too sweet and not too sour. Coffee was perfect drinking temperature and I look forward to ducking in again.
google avatar

Anne-Claire A.

Yelp
Went there for a drink and coffee before going to the beach on a late afternoon. Therefore cannot judge the food but the coffee was good and Italian (?) - smelled like it anyways! ;-) The staff were super nice and it has a great location on the beach.

Yelp
Il Lido remains one of my favorite restaurants around. I'm reviewing it based on dinner, and while they offer brekkie for the good beach side location, this is fundamentally a great dinner location IMO. I've been here a lot and keep going back because the food is fresh and great, service is always really good, and the ambiance at night is tops. (I see there are other reviewers that have had hiccups in food or service...maybe I m lucky but I can only speak for my 10 or so dinner experiences). Food: a great selection of antipasta dishes that can be shared to create an entire meal if you want (my wife and I do this often). And a great selection of mains to incorporate into your meal. While you can treat the menu as entree and main items, it can work well to share everything (especially if it's just 2 adults). The fish of the day, the spatchcock, and lamb are stand out mains. Drinks: full bar with nice cocktails and a great selection of wine (many Italian selections). Service: something that can be shocking at restaurants around Perth. I've only experienced great service from the staff at il Lido. Friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive.

Yelp
I love restaurants like il lido and I'm glad to discover more and more contemporary dining spaces that offer sophisticated, well thought out food that champions beautiful ingredients, whilst also offering their customers a casual and relaxed atmosphere. I do think that a majority of the menu is priced on the higher end of the spectrum, but I'd happily pay around $25-$30 for such impeccable pasta. The antipasti selection are all priced $20 and below, whilst the light meals are set between $22-$26 and going up to $42 for main meal. Great service and beautiful location have been factored into the pricing and I think that it's a good place to treat yourself in. It's a delicate balance and one that Perth's really taken on well in recent years - il lido is not only the place for fabulous beachside dining, but also home to one of the best and most authentic pastas in Perth. The two that I had - Potato Gnocchi, Roast Tomato, Basil, Parmigiano ($28.00) and Pappardelle, Duck, Radicchio, Broad Beans and Orange ($29.00) were absolutely amazing!

Yelp
So we arrived for the Young Guns event and were shown to the outside area to absorb the beach air surrounding us while the event was finishing being set up.
google avatar

Yelp
Il Lido is built in a 1935 heritage building and back in the 1940's this site housed Lido Cabaret, which was the old-time equivalent to our modern day nightclub. Much of the interior has been kept intact with decorative high ceilings and windows facing out onto the beach. Il Lido has been on my ever growing wishlist of places to eat for some time having already been to both of their sister restaurants Duende and Gordon Street Garage a number of times. Il Lido was even better than we expected given our excellent experiences at Duende and variable meals at Gordon Street Garage. They have successfully emulated a casual beach side vibe yet serve stunning Italian "peasant" food that left the in-laws very impressed. I can guarantee we will be back.

Yelp
II Lido Italian Canteen is situation right on the gorgeous Cottesloe Beach - perfect location for a sunny day. I went with a girlfriend Saturday around 2pm and there were still tables available but it was very busy. I ordered the potato gnocchi with tomato, basil and Parmesan $28... Opting to swap the gnocchi for fettuccini instead. My friend ordered the veal meatball pasta $28. I have to be honest, I'm not sure I understand the hype about II lidos - my pasta portion was tiny.... it WAS saucy and the pasta was cooked nicely it didn't blow my mind, it was mediocre at best. We were actually still pretty hungry but not wanting to spend $15 on dessert we left and went and got a smoothie at yelo. I wouldn't waste my $28 going back again...

Yelp
The pancakes were almost inedible, completely flavourless. The kitchen would not substitute or even omit an item from a plate. Service was prompt and the location is nice.

Yelp
I love this place for dinner! It is a real mood changer... in a good way! When you walk in its dark but has the light of candles and so on which make you feel like your not in your average Perth Restaurant. The service is impeccable, the menu is amazing, the drinks and cocktail list is even better! However i do suggest either booking or getting there a bit earlier if you want to grab your own table as the dinning area are long bench tables which seats everyone. Its great for group dinners or an intimate dinner for two! The decor inside is great, Wine bottles stacked ceiling high, lighting fantastic, music great, amazing bar set up and i once went there a while back now but they had a gentleman singing opera! LOVE THE FOOD, LOVE THE LOCATION, LOVE THIS PLACE.

Yelp
Fantastic food - enjoyed both a starter and a main meal -both fish and cooked to perfection! So pleased! Not the typical Italian food- a more upperclass with a twist. My swordfish was accompanied with a spicy butterbean mix! So refreshing :-) My collegues all chose the today special fish - cod with lenses -also quite spicy!! We had a great heavy cabsav to follow! As most places in Perth loud and table sharing. But a fantastic view and great service!

Yelp
One of my favourite restaurants. I frequent this place with my partner and I can't remember when i've had a bad meal there. Great selection of wines. There is a great casual ambience and the crowd is usually mellow and friendly. Can be a little pricey, but the quality is the justification.

Yelp
Across the road from Cottesloe beach is this casual canteen style cafe. I love the atmosphere of the Il Lido in the mornings, the coffee is pretty good. Coffee beans are supplied from the guys at Gordon Street Garage. There are quite a few budget friendly options available on the breakfast menu, I particularly like that there are a variety of few light meals. I had the plain brioche for $5.00, it was served with a lovely sweet rhubarb preserve and butter. Have a look at there glass cabinet near the coffee machine for the freshly baked goods. Free wifi is available inside the cafe. Afterwards it is nice to walk along the beach.

Yelp
As has already been stated il lido is housed within a beautiful high ceiling building with charm and character. Our group sat at the communal style bench tables to order an array of dishes. 80% of my colleagues were interstate and there first reaction to the menu was the higher price for breakfast items, and I have to agree $24 for OJ and eggs with bacon is pushing the extremities. Now the food as a whole was above average, with perfectly cooked poached eggs, average bacon and wood like ciabatta. The treason I say wood like is that I needed a chain saw to cut through each piece. Service was friendly and prompt. Overall a great feel and view but the overpriced food could use some tweaking. Food 6/10 service 7/10 decor 8/10

Yelp
Absolutely stunning ravioli, very fresh and I could taste every ingredient. There is also a great atmoshpere surrounding the outdoor seating as everyone lets the sun drop on their face and the ocean breeze brushes over their eyebrows. They have a beautiful selection of light eats if you are looking for an excuse to have a cold glass of wine. Try the smoked salmon and zuchini fritter. It is mouth watering. The crab arancini is stunning. Come here if you are in the mood for Italian food that doesn't involve pizza and lasagna.

Yelp
I was here last night, we went here for a nice evening meal. We got in thanks to the kindness of the hostess who squeezed us into a table. The venue is a great one, it's in a brilliant location and is well turned out. The staff are attentive and friendly. So why only 3 stars? The food was only ok. And, if I'm frank about it, the meals were not very well balanced. We both had vegetarian options but they just were not quite right, especially given the price.

Yelp
It surprises me there aren't more restaurants like Il Lido along our popular Cottesloe sunset strip. With its colourful beachside vibe and stunning vistas, you'd think we'd have trendy open-air dining from the top of the street to the bottom. Or maybe Il Lido would lose its charm if there were more of its kind. As it stands, the vibrant Italian cafe/bar/restaurant is unlike any other in Perth, and a real treat to visit for this reason. The menu is stylishly simple, I've eaten some amazing pastas here (the crayfish-stuffed ravioli is a dream), and the drinks range has quite a distinct European flair (lots of aperitifs and lovely Champagnes). Long communal tables make for a particularly special dining experience, not intrusive like you might think, and there's a beautifully-lit outside eating area which - on a Summer's night - reflects everything that is glorious about Australian eating.

Yelp
Great Coffee and a fab menu. I had the Zucchini Fritter ($16) with an organic egg. The fluffy fritter was topped with half an avocado and wilted spinach. It was very tasty and garnished with snow pea tendrils and also crispy quinoa; which when drizzled with evoo, shone like little jewels. I broke open the egg gently with a knife for the "money shot". A runny yolk is one of life's little pleasures! This was a great brunch dish.

Yelp
If you're looking for a restaurant with great Italian wines in Cottesloe - this is it. There are of course other wines on the wine list that are well worth trying too. The dinner food is good too and the watiers are atttentive. Breakfast and coffees are good here although I've found the service slow at times but that's when they are full of hungry morning people and the beach is packed! I like the atmosphere here - there needs to be more restaurants like Il Lido on the beach front.

Yelp
A brilliant place. Very busy but the staff handle it like professionals. Outdoor seating is available however, inside is often crowded but setting makes it a very intimate experience. Food was fantastic, had the fettuccine and it was amazing. Wait staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Greatly recommend this place, will be back.

Yelp
Great food. Great cocktails and wine. Right opposite the awesome sunset. I love this place.

Yelp
When arriving at il lido on a Thursday night, we were greeted and seated promptly. For starters we had the clams and a squid tube special (that wasn't on the menu) and mains were the maltagliati (pork shoulder version) and gnocchi. The waiter paired two wines with our dishes which went very well. All of the dishes were absolutely delicious and the service was amazing. If you are a main dish only type of person, the servings could have been a little bit bigger but if you have entrees, like we did, they are a good serving. If you go on a night thats not too cold or too hot, the best seat is facing the beach and watching the sunset. I had a wonderful experience at il lido and would definitely go back to try something else on the menu.

Yelp
Fantastic. My ravioli was cooked to perfection. I was most impressed by the extensive wine list, and found the staff to be very polite. Very romantic place for a dinner date mid week. Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Great location - brilliant food. However very poor experience . They forgot our food order and brought it out after 40 minutes with no apology, then when we requested the bill, we waited 20 minutes before giving up and paying at the counter. Such a shame. Won't be coming back.
