"Il Maestrale, founded by Italian-born Donata Bergmann, is renowned for its all-natural ice creams and sorbets. Located in the popular Patio Bellavista, it offers a nostalgic taste of Italian gelato culture." - Dan Q. Dao
This gelato is okay. It is tasty but nothing spectacular or mind blowing. It was a nice treat to have after a long, hot walk and has great seating in the shade where you can take a load off and enjoy watching the traffic in the outdoor mall.

We ordered 3 flavors:
Vegan lemon, mint, and ginger = incredible
Vegan Chamoy = good but didn’t want to finish it
Amarena Cherry = delicious
Highly recommend this place!

The ice cream is very, very tasty. Classic and modern tastes are home made like the old italian style. The flavours are amazingly yummy! And all gluten free except one flavour! You can pick plastic vase or cookie to eat your ice cream. Very good quality! I super recommend it.

Excellent authentic gelato, just sweeter than they'd make it in Italy (to suit the Chilean palate maybe?) I ordered the double and wondered why it was so expensive but there turned out to be close to maybe 400ml of gelato in my glass. Well worth the money. (Pistacchio was a little bit too sweet, though.) Cool place too (in Patio Bellavista) and great service.

Great ice cream place, seating is outside but undercover in the mall.

Ice-cream is good but not outstanding and definitely not better than the ice-cream I had in Argentina for a fraction of the price. The service sucked big time - both the cashier and server should get off their high horses and learn how to treat customers in a respectful manner.

I had ordered Tiramisu ice-cream, it was watery and lacked any flavour. On top of this, the waitress was extremely rude, which made the whole experience a waste of my money and time.

So far the best ice cream we had in Santiago, creamy and tasty enough to nearly deserve the Italian word, not like many other frozen ice creams

Delicious gelato that can't be missed. Local fruit flavors, and a really nice part of Santiago to sit and enjoy. Try the Lucuma if they have it. It's an Andean tree fruit that's very sweet and milky.

Yelp
Hard for me to get too excited about this place, especially when they try to draw the strong links to Italy. The ice cream is average. Yes, the local flavors are nice to try but the quality of the ice cream was just not great. Given the lack of competitors in Santiago, it's probably worth a visit if you are craving ice cream.
