Il Padrone Fish House

The food is decent but overpriced for the quality. The restaurant is an amazing old palazzo but it can do with some more decoration. The service can be better for the level it portrays to be. Example: The white wine we ordered was warm and the ice bucket came quite after. Anyhow, worth to try.

The staff here were exceptionally great and attentive. They gave us several recommendations and made sure the night went well. The food is very reasonably priced and is just as delicious considering they use home made pasta. They have a few special available, and I’d definitely recommend trying one. The interior of the restaurant is also beautiful.

Very nice restaurant, staff were friendly and polite. Seemed like a family restaurant. Salmon was really nice, very large portion (you can see size next to my hand) pasta was also really nice, especially the courgette (zucchini) and prawn spirulina pasta. Would go again.

Amazing restaurant with amazing food! The palazzo is simply amazing. The food to die for! Ambiance amazing and the staff super nice and always there to serve you. My wife and I ate lunch at this restaurant and absolutely loved it. If you enjoy fish and seafood, this is your restaurant in and around. Rabat and Mdina. The service is excellent and very attentive. Ambience is outstanding, in a restored house from the 1500’s. The chef started us with an amuse bouche of rabbit terrine. We then followed that with the insalata of octopus and an insalata de mare (octopus, calamari and shrimp). Both prepared with a touch olive oil. Our main course was equally delicious with mussels on white wine and grilled prawns. The wine list is lovely with many local Maltese offerings. We enjoyed a bottle of Sauvignon blanc and a bottle of Vermillion. I encourage you to try this restaurant and all of its fish and seafood selections. A gem in the heart of Rabat. This is the best that Malta has to offer.

Through this I want to recommend to others this restaurant that provided an unforgettable experience to me and my family. All that which one restaurant of high quality should possess, this restaurant possesses. From the ambient, to service, food which they offer, as well as prices adjusted to the quality.
