A great choice for a snack or appetizer! I had a mix of small fried fish and vegetables, and both were really tasty. The fried veggies stood out, and the fish was just as satisfying. The portion size was generous, so it’s definitely filling. While the mix is pre-set and not customizable, the variety offered was enjoyable. Friendly staff and a nice location made it an overall pleasant experience. Perfect for takeout!

Google
We got a mix calamari, shrimp and cod. It was good. Salty enough where you didn’t need a sauce. The calamari’s was exemplary. It’s a unique experience and worth it for a lunch on the move. You can share a medium; they fit a lot of fish in those cones. They’re busy but serve fairly quickly.

Google
Very fresh, lightly battered seafood and fries: the anchovies were so meaty and the calamaris were so soft. Kudos to the very friendly serving team! There are a few seats in front of the shop to eat the fritti.

Google
Absolutely delicious seafood! Exquisite! It was fresh and perfectly cooked. It was crispy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside. There is a take away option and if you want to eat there, there are nice sofas outdoor, where you can eat while enjoying the nice city view. This place is right in the center of Riomaggiore. The staff here are very friendly and hospitable.

Google
Absolutely worthy of all the glowing reviews. The food here is 10/10! Myself & my partner got a mixed fish and a solo calamari cone from here and both were great. Everything tastes to fresh and is seasoned to perfection. I had a piece of battered white fish in my mixed fish cone and it tasted better than any fish I have ever gotten from a fish & chip shop! The staff were also lovely and there are bins in the shop for recycling of everything you buy. Eat here as many times as you can whilst in Riomaggiore!

The calamari / white fish / and anchovies combination (large portion) was amazing snack on route to dinner. Consider it as a perfect appetizer.

Google
This was such a surprise. The fried pescato was really delicious. I had calamari with vegetables and potatoes. The small portion is actuality quite generous. They have sauces if you want it to put on top like garlic, truffle etc. Sprinkle it with lemon. It's a meal that feels very fresh along with some icy cold beverages that they have. There are some benchs to eat outsite.

Google
Best local fried seafood in town. Everyone eats here even though there are 2 others in the immediate area. Very nice lady inside serving up cones of fried food. We’ve eaten fish and chips twice in 2 nights. Takeaway only. Do t go anywhere else….this is the best.

Yelp
This place is known for their fried seafood, and it's usually better to get the seafood during the daytime. As by night, their fried items get very moisturized and no longer crispy.

Yelp
A lovely lunch or snack to split while exploring the 5 terre. Highly recommend the spicy mayo and an extra lemon . Very delicious and fresh.

Yelp
Perfect afternoon treat! The mixed Frito is filled with all the hits; prawns, sardines, calamari, veggies, mozzarella sticks. Great selection of beer, wine, and drinks too. The staff was so happy and friendly. A must!

Yelp
This was recommended by our host of our B&B. We told her we wanted something quick and delicious and suggested this place. Got the large combination of fried seafood plus vegetables. Seafood included anchovies, calamari, shrimp, and what she called baby fish. It was delicious. Great place to grab a quick bite to eat.

Yelp
Clever street food As soon as we arrived at 5 terre we spotted someone walking around with a cone of seafood. That looked so good and clever, on our first full day we hunted down one of the places that sells them, Il Pescato Cucinato. We discovered there is a variety of options on what you want, I went with Fish & Chips, my wife had a mixed fish cone. This is more than just a snack, there was plenty of food to make it a meal on the go. My small pieces of battered fish were not cooked that well, but this is fun eating. They give you lemon on a long sharp stick that can also use to spear things deep in the point of the cone. Service was friendly and efficient and we were in and out pretty quickly. There are a couple of benches just outside the door where you can sit, if there is an open spot.

Yelp
Wow wow wow! This place rocks! If you're looking for a quick cheap bite on the go while you're in Cinque Terre I highly recommend getting seafood first off and then obviously getting it all fried!! I got the cone with sardines, calamari and shrimp. Ok folks so I'm a Maryland girl which may mean nothing to you but we're basically the seafood capital of shellfish in the good ol USA so I'm picky!!! But omg this was supppperrrrr tasty! I learned I'm not the hugest fan of sardines while having this but the calamari and shrimp were BOMB

Yelp
Soooo sad to leave this review, because I was beyond excited to try this place after reading a glowing blog post on it in addition to all the other positive comments. I went around 5 pm on a Tuesday after a long day of hiking, and the pans were reasonably full. I ordered the grande cone (on accident) and chose the mix. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that the warming pans aren't that hot; my heart sank with that first tepid, soggy bite. (I have a stomach of steel, but ... isn't that also kind of a food safety concern? Ha.) It's a small mom-and-pop shop, so I didn't want to ask them for a fresh batch - instead, I asked to have it refried. It helped with the crunch levels, but not with everything else. I ate 1/3 of my cone and trashed the rest - it was unsalvageable. And I never say that! I am tempted to go back and wait around for a fresh, hot batch; but there also are so many other places selling the same thing here that I don't think this one deserves another chance when I'm only here for three days. I am giving two stars because I love the story behind the restaurant and I really am pulling for them. But for €10 (which I think is a very reasonable price for how generous the portion size was), I really expected much better. For what it's worth, I can tell, even through the lukewarm temps, the anchovies would've been scrumptious if done right, as I'm certain they usually are. :)

Yelp
If you like seafood, this is probably a must try in Riomaggiore. My favorite were the anchovies. Cash only, no seating inside, but that's perfectly okay as most of us should probably be walking anyways to take in the scenery.
google avatar

Gerardo D.

Yelp
The fish and shrimp cone was delicious! I don't know how they prepare them but the flavor was amazing. Some of the most delicious shrimp I have had. If I ever go back to Riomaggiore (and who wouldn't want to go back) I am stopping by Il Pescato again!

Yelp
This place is definitely a must go to when in Riomaggiore. They sell fried seafood cones. Seriously delicious, probably one of my favorite things I had when in Italy. This is a fishing village so the fish are fresh and deliciously flavorful. I loved the anchovies which I didn't even think I liked before this. The place is cash only and there is nowhere to sit, just a counter to go up and order. The line was not long and the price was cheap. I highly recommend!

Yelp
Freshly, lightly fried calamari; the breading doesn't overwhelm, which is great; the crumbly crust of breading made every bite a pleasure. It was piping hot - - but I think I got very lucky; when I walked in, there were sad looking scraps in the calamari bin, but then she heaped a freshly fried batch right over the top, and it was impeccable. Perfect, easy, delicious bite to eat in a town where I spent 35 minutes and then got out of there after a few pix taken - - at least that was better than Vernazza, where the prices were higher, the place was more of a tourist circus, and I only lasted 17 minutes.

Yelp
Ugh, pass. Despite this being so popular, the seafood is fried in advance and it tasted like it. Cold, not crisp, and rubbery. I was the unlucky soul who got the last dredges before a new batch came out. The seafood is sitting under heat lamps and is made in large batches. Additionally, much of their items are previously frozen (which is denoted on their menu). Pass.

Yelp
A cone of freshly fried seafood? It's the perfect snack to walk around with while you're exploring Riomaggiore. They have a couple of options but I went with the mixed. This comes with shrimp, calamari and anchovies - but I would say it was probably 75% anchovies. Don't leave this village without trying it!
google avatar

Yelp
Bahhhh so yummy. I wouldn't say this place is better than its competitors because frying things probably isn't rocket science, but the food is delicious. I like that you can get a mixed option so we opted for friend squid, anchovies, and white fish. The white fish was particularly scrumptious because it was covered in a salty garlic batter that made it that much more bad for you. They were all different and bloody delicious and I could really go for some right now.

Yelp
The best eat of our trip to Cinque Terre. The seafood was amazingly fresh. The husband goes out to catch the fish in the morning and the wife rise up the fish starting at 11:30 AM.The wife is very nice and the prices are right. Seven euros for a large cone and five euros for a medium size cone of seafood and it comes with a lemon wedge. There is also sauce is in the back of the kitchen which I was interested in but didn't have the courage to ask. In the mixed seafood cone, You get squared, fish, small fish, big fish, shrimp, potatoes, onion rings, deep fried vegetables. Be sure to get there early cause a line can get pretty long by the afternoon. They also have a nice selection of wine beer and other drinks in the refrigerator as well. Unfortunately this place opens at 11:30 AM otherwise I would probably get another cone before I left tomorrow morning.

Yelp
Pretty good deep fried sea food. Specially seafood cone - shrimp, calamari, anchovies. Do not be afraid of the line, goes fast.

Yelp
Benissimo! Sitting in the town square with a big cone overflowing with perfectly fried catch of the day seafood and a cold beer was a great treat indeed and very reasonable. In fact, it was so good that we made a point to return a few days later!

Yelp
3* Il Pescato Cucinato Via Colombo 199, Riomaggiore Fried fish/seafood in cardboard cone (2 sizes) Different combinations Can have with or without fries Food is delish, although salty and oily Great place for an afternoon snack

Yelp
We tried to come here every day of our stay Mixed fried cone was our Cinque Terre candy. The calamari was my personal favorite, and I'm pretty sure my husband will dream about the onion rings. We were a little nervous to try the anchovies, but they were tender and flavorful. Wash down with an ice cold beer or a coke in the harbor, and you've got yourself one hell of a lunch date.

Yelp
small hole-in-the-wall with counter order fried seafood...quite popular and a line to the counter...constantly frying and filling the trays behind counter glass....large mixed combination 7€...stick to eat with and lemon wedge provided...no seating, so sit outside on the steps or find a bench...fried calamari, anchovies or sardines, shrimp and fries...bit greasy, but everything is deep fried....great snack, but all calamari 10€ large might be better..

Yelp
The friend Cali Mari was delicious, inexpensive, and plentiful! We stopped here after a hike at cinque terre and had a nice walking snack through the town.

Yelp
I was craving this type of food the whole trip and finally chose this place to have it at and they didn't disappoint. It was fresh made and hot, great variety of fish. Mouth watering just thinking about it.
google avatar

Yelp
Delightful cones chock full of seafood. Lightly batter fritto misto. Needed a bit more salt and lemon, but otherwise, the perfect to-go meal!
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
The owner is a fisherman and the freshest fish you'll ever have. My fiancé got the calamari and I get the fish n chips everyday we were here and never disappointed.
google avatar

Yelp
Say what?! Deep fried. You have my attention. We were on a tour and out tour guides recommended this place and it hit the spot. It's a small shop so when you order they made the food fresh but if it was out so a little while the refry it so its hot and crispy. We ordered the fish (which is whole tiny fish) and the squid. The batter was light golden, crispy and delicious. A great spot to get your seafood or fried food fix.

Yelp
Wow I was so excited to get there because I had read the reviews and we were starving , so I asked my friends to hold on for a bit til the place opened up , we were there at 1115, the lady was like it opens at 1130, so we went walking around the town Had a drink came back at 1135 the lady was like oh not open yet , I'm like ok we'll wait , she closes the door in front of us and it was 1155 and she hadn't even come back to say they were late or anything , so we just took off. Whatever their loss . Wouldn't go again not even if I get vip passes .

Yelp
Great value mixed seafood/veggie cone!! Fresh sea food, service with a smile. Big portion for the large size - shared nicely with our group (3 adults and 2 little kids).
google avatar

Jeffrey Z.

Yelp
Yummy fried seafood in a cone. The menu has options for mixed (with veggies, chips, anchovies, shrimp, calamari) cones, all anchovies, or all calamari. They were happy to serve us a cone with just calamari, anchovies and shrimp, however, so just ask! Large cone for 8 euro.
google avatar

Kim N.

Yelp
I usually don't care for fried food but I absolutely loved the mix fried seafood cone (calamari, some white fish, anchovies, some veggies) from Il Pescato Cucinato. Freshly caught & fried seafood cone for 5€ (small) or 7€ (large). If seafood's not your thing, you can also get fried veggies or fries I believe. Get a cone or two and soak up the sun by the water... I wish I could do this everyday. There's another shop across the street with the same concept but the batter wasn't as good in my opinion & it was very salty.
google avatar

Tara C.

Yelp
Best frito misto snack! 5 euro for a picco (small) and 7-10euro for a large! Everyone's waiting for a snack and the fried local fish, anchovies, and vegetables of the day!
google avatar

Pauline K.

Yelp
A fun snack to carry around in the middle of the day, and seafood is definitely a must do in Cinque Terre! However, the taste was just okay. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything I would have again. Very oily and salty, but other than that somewhat tasteless.
google avatar

Annie H.

Yelp
If you like fried seafood this is the place for you. They have a variety of mixed seafood that you can choose from and they put it in a cone for you to take away. I got the large mixed cone for 7 euro. Good for a snack but not exactly the healthiest choice for a meal. A large is enough for 2 people to share as a snack. Everything was very tasty, but I wish they allowed you to choose what you like more of to put in the cone. It's along the main road in Riomaggiore. Take out only. Very fast service.

Kyle G.

Yelp
Delicious fried seafood snack. Crisp, fresh, and salty. A few too many anchovies in the mixed cone for our preference, but you can just ask to leave them out.

Brian D.

Yelp
Must try while in Riomaggiore. Best take out spot in the town. Try the Fried Mix catch.

Pete R.

Yelp
Excellent. Service was quick and pleasant. We had fish only, mixed and seafood. I'd recommend the seafood.

Tracy M.

Yelp
Really enjoyed the fried mixto seafood here! Got to try a combination of the fish, calamari, and anchovies. The mixto is fried well; just hope for a fresh batch when it's your turn to order! Grab a local beer/soda when you visit. It's reasonably priced!

Kelly H.

Yelp
A great snack to carry around through the town, don't get the large size unless you are very hungry! Great mix of fish, sardines, anchovies, squid and veggies. Not overly fried with a lemon to squeeze on top for extra flavor. Yum!
