Category: Seaside bar and restaurant. For our second day drinking spot of the day we chose il Pirata 🏴☠️ even though we forgot to bring our eye patches and parrot 🦜. This sprawling multi-level beach-side spot is a perfect place to watch the swimmers, sunbathers, and boaters. Don’t miss the cool, 6-seat, lit-from-below onyx bar, which is nestled in a grotto (aka cave), along with a few tables. Outdoors, the ristorante offers high-tops, regular tables, and lounge chairs on the diving deck. There’s plenty of shade if you want it, and rays if you don’t. We sat in the area with the bamboo and blowing palm grass shading, and ceramic-topped tables, each featuring a different sea creature. We only ordered drinks, which we enjoyed along with an excellent order of fried calamari, which was VERY lightly breaded, as all calamari should be, and served with mayonnaise, which pairs much better than the cocktail sauce typical in the U.S. The drinks were well made and refreshing.
