I have lived in NJ eating sandwiches of all kinds all across NJ, but nothing has stood out more than the chicken cutlet and prosciutto sandwich here. The acidity from the balsamic vinagrette mixed with the earthy arugala, and the saltiness of the prosciutto stacked on top of soft THICCC piece of fresh mozarella ontop of more THICCC pieces of finely breaded chicken cutlets really give way to a dimension I started to dream of. Just found this place earlier this week after a doctor's appointment but will remain a favorite to go to from here. Highly recommend to everyone, one bite will have you dreaming of the sandwich.

We were passing through New Jersey and decided to stop somewhere for some lunch. My daughter looked up local places to eat and read the reviews for the ones that sounded interesting and we decided to give il Posto a try. We ordered a few chicken parm sandwiches. We asked the gentleman who waited on us if we could get some extra sauce on the side because we like to dip. It turns out he was the owner of the shop and was also very friendly and welcoming. He tucked some extra large sauce containers in our bag at no extra charge. The sandwiches and his sauce were really delicious. The portions were large and the prices quite reasonable. I only wish I had ordered some other items to try. I highly recommend this shop you won’t be sorry.

We stopped there for a quick bite, the man on the counter was very friendly. We chose to try the mozzarella sandwich. It was definitely made with the love of food . it was absolutely amazing. One of the best sandwiches I had. The bread was fresh from the oven. Cheese was melting with sun-dried tomato, and a little bit of basil. Will try the Parm sandwich next time.

I recently dined here and it was fantastic! I had the pinched grilled chicken cutlet, both expertly cooked and bursting with flavor. The penne vodka was creamy and delicious, while the fresh mozzarella and tomatoes were simply delightful. Don’t miss the Italian bread – it’s the perfect complement to the meal! The atmosphere was warm, and the staff was incredibly friendly. Special shoutout to the charming manager, who added to the great vibe. I loved every bite and can’t wait to return for more authentic Italian goodness!

Great addition to the area. I was late to feed my work crew lunch and the owner put together a large order in under 20 minutes with just one other employee. Food was delicious, service was great!

I stopped in for a quick sandwich. I ordered the chicken cutlet sandwich with prosciutto, arugula and fresh mozzarella drizzled in balsamic. The sandwich was excellent and enough for 2 people. Highly recommend

AMAZING!! I rarely write reviews but the food was so delicious I felt compelled to write one. Everything I've tried so far has been cooked to perfection, especially the chicken parm. One of the best meals I've ever had in NJ :)

I live in town and I've been wanting to support this spot and see if its any good... It's legit! I got one of their signature sandwiches and it did not disappoint. If you're anywhere close pullover and get one. Freakin awesome!!!

Was in the area looking for an Italian deli to try out and came across this place. The food was amazing, so was the ambiance and the staff was extremely kind and attentive. I got the chicken vodka parm sandwich. The wait was short and everything was made fresh to order. I highly recommend and will definitely be coming back when I'm in the area.

What can I say about this jewel other than "you will not be disappointed" the quality of their sandwiches are to take the time and let everyone know. Talking about quality and quantity ! At minimum half a pound of fresh mozzarella per sandwich maybe more!! Great food!!! Know what they're doing and the prices are great in comparison with the food and quality of. Friendly service; next time I'm around Clifton, NJ I would visit again!!

Small deli that most wouldn't even see while driving by. That is a shame because they serve delicious sandwiches. The chicken cutlets are fire. Get any sandwich with a fried chicken cutlet and you can't go wrong. They have some antipasto salads and other cold preparations as well. Friendly staff too.

5th visit, had to leave a great review...place is always super clean, the gentleman at the counter is always friendly and his sandwiches are top notch. I usually go for mortadella and fresh mutz, this time I got the fried eggplant w fresh mutz and it was outta this world

We ordered a board for thanksgiving and the attention. We than said let's do this for Christmas do we called to order another the person I believe Michael remembered my sister Patty and was incredibly nice. Thank you for your great attention we will be back for more meals and sandwiches. Please make burrata.

Hands down one of the best salumeria's in the Clifton area and possibly North Jersey. I grew up in Hudson county my whole life and just moved out west to Clifton. Delis like Vito's and Fiores in Hoboken, and De Palma Bros (RIP) in Fairview were some high caliber Italian eats, Il Posto gives them a run for their money. Michael, the owner keeps a very tidy space, everything is clean and organized, the cases display daily made seafood salad, arancini, pasta salad and some other staples. The cold cases contain imported Italian drinks, sodas and desserts. I've had just about every sandwich here, chicken cutlet, eggplant cutlet, Italian combo, hot roast beef, grilled chicken, and grilled eggplant. Was not disappointed in a single sandwich, honestly if you just picked something randomly from the menu, chances are it's delicious. Also, pro tip if they have meatloaf for sale, buy it. Served with sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes, it is hands down some of the best meatloaf I've ever had. For only being in business for two years Michael and his staff are crushing it, wishing them continued success in serving the community. Salud!

If I were on death row, the chicken cutlet sandwich would be in consideration for my last meal. Everything else I've had there is incredible. Unfortunately I don't have the metabolism I used to or I'd be there once a week, minimum! I didn't take a picture because I couldn't wait to eat it.

I want to give this place a good review because I've been a customer so long. I used to suggest it to people a lot but it's to the point where the people I'm suggesting it to keep trying to go on their normal business hours and they are closed. Which it's true, they are randomly closed a lot. I think they also unplug their phone line when they're busy. Aside from all that, the prices are ridiculous now. I understand it's quality but how can you expect someone to pay a little over 30 dollars for two sandwiches???? And then on top of it, they had run out of bread right before so they sent someone to the store to pick up bread so my sandwiches were on tough Italian baguettes from shoprite. I was very disappointed as i come here and lot and it's not extremely expensive

So glad to have found a good deli on this side of Clifton. My husband and I are new to the area and still feeling out the food situations here. We're originally from Weehawken and would go to Fiore's and Antique Bakery in Hoboken all the time. The guys here are also super friendly and the place is immaculate. They don't skimp either. **Hot roast beef and their gravy plus roasted red peppers is my new jam.

The first salad I had was great! I thought I finally found a spot near my home. Too bad that they are not consistent with how the make it or the ingredients that they put in it. The second one I ordered was awful they added red onions to it. In the description there is no mention of onions and different greens and no mushrooms. I called and let them know. Instead offering a refund, they offered a small discount and because times are hard, I let it go. Today I showed up with a picture of the first salad and was very special and still cannot get it right. I had to throw it away.

This place is AHmazing!! The portions are HUGE and the quality is delicious! You don't have allot of choices in this area as far as catering small parties goes. But this place, I gave them a try, and they did not disappoint! And I am a very picky eater, but they blew me away. These are younger guys so they know food has to look good and taste good, not like some of the old school places that don't understand that. Very pleasantly surprised and they have all my catering from now on!

I experience good customer service during my visit; an employee easily points me to a Vegan option on the menu, a Vegan Il Posto Signature Sandwich (7. Grilled Eggplant, Grilled Portobello Mushroom, Roasted Peppers, Artichokes & Arugula), and the employees are very friendly. The sandwich tastes wonderful ESPECIALLY due to the ingredients being on such good bread which absorbs the drippings (oil, vinegar, etc.) in such a non-messy-let-me-boost-the-good-flavor kind of way (does the bread have a mind of its own?). If I'm hungry in the area again, I'm glad to know I have a tasty Vegan sandwich near. The establishment has indoor seating (decent size tables for two, maybe three) and accepts different forms of payment.

Stopped by for the first time. It's Right next to a nice seafood pickup joint I like. Front desk lady recommended the hot meat loaf sandwich with mozzarella and brown gravy. I let her know I was gonna order it but she gave me a sample of roast beef and freshly made mozzarella anyways on a plate. Pretty much made it too easy for me to confirm after tasting that I was making the right decision. Plus I love free samples to taste. Sandwich was like 12 bucks but fully stacked. No skimping here. Meat was tender, cheese barely has a pull in texture and has the right amount of salt and dairy taste. The not too thick brown gravy just makes it just right. I ended up ordering a pound of fresh mozzarella sliced to go for a family get together later. I'm sure they will all ask where it was from after. Two nice guys running the joint too. Check em out!

Very friendly staff. Nice size sandwiches on crispy italian bread. Reasonable prices. Got a Muffaletta sandwich. it was fantastic. Muffaletta was in house and fresh. This is one of the top delis I have been to. They have a nice selection of specialty sandwiches. I highly recommend this place.

This is a fantastic place to get a sandwich. First, the guys are the sweetest, friendliest people you will ever meet. The food is A+ and they are awesome about adding or taking things off a sandwich. They have a nice menu, hot and cold and they cater. Highly recommend this place!!

One of my favorite take out places in the area. Very generous portions and friendly staff. The seasoning and flavors are fantastic and they make their own mozzarella!! It is a must try!!!! We've been ordering several times a week recently because it is just so good!!

Quality deli. I'm not from the Clifton area so I stumbled upon this spot. I had gotten the chicken hero w American cheese lettuce tomato onion w mayo oil and vinaigrette The bread here is super fresh. The chicken was made hot right from the grill, the tomatoes had that crunch u always look for. Perfect amount of mayo and the lettuce had that snapping texture. 5/5 recommend completely high quality service as well!

This place honestly has the best chicken park sandwich in Clifton. Maybe in all of Jersey. I love this place and the fellas that work there are great! That marinara is to die for.

I found this great new place that makes homemade Italian foods. Everything is homemade. The homemade mozzarella is delicious!!!! My 10 year old son loved the seafood salad that was filled with homemade octopus, squid, and Shrimp!!! My Antipasto salad was so fresh and so so good!!!! They have dinners for two, frozen meals you can take home, Yummy desserts. The also have a small Italian grocery. I would definitely recommend!!! Enjoy!!!

This little Italian deli/eatery is a must try. It is located right next door to All Surf No Turf on Clifton Ave. directly across the street from the Board of Education. I say this because if you drive by too fast you will miss it. But slow down and give it a try. I originally went in to purchase sliced prosciutto. But left with a Turkey and Provolone sandwich ( 1/2 off the sandwich could feed 2!), fresh mozzarella salad, seafood salad, and of course my prosciutto!! They also serve hot food items (Those change by the day). Everything I purchased was delicious! I left with their regular menu and their catering menu ( Yes, they cater too!). I can not wait to go back and try something else.

This place was always good, but quality has stepped up a ton since the new owner took over. Always top notch. Best Mozzarella that I've had in the US!

I have been going to Il Posto for the year and his food has always been very good from his sandwiches to his dinners. I entrusted him with a 40 tray antipasto order and he knocked it out of the park. All my customers were beyond happy with his with assortments of cold cuts, cheeses and pastas. I am definitely going to be a long time customer and you will too once you try any of the food he has to offer.

Had the meatloaf special was delicious ! And my daughter had the roast beef au jus with fresh mozzarella she love it !!! Will be back again!!!!
