You want the best Carbonara in Venezia? Here you go, we've travelled through a lot of places, but this is the best to eat proper Italian dish. Starting from a great waiter that will invite you to the table(I usually don't like them, but this one was really nice!) then going to a great dish and small snack for free to a great drinks! If you need, you can take the rest of your pizza or other dish to the home and that's what we've done. To be honest, that's the best place I've visited in Venezia.

Loved this restaurant. It’s right by a canal so you can watch the boats ride past, the streets surrounding it are cute, the staff were so friendly and willing to chat, and the food was delicious! They even had a Persian gelato which was a nice surprise - rose water, saffron, pistachio and cream! Would definitely come back!

Google
Great restaurant away from the crowds. We especially loved the location next to a quaint canal. Delicious pizza and Aperol, friendly service. We enjoyed it so much, we came back every day during our 3-day stay in Venice. Thank you!

The pasta was good. The pizza, not really. I ordered a Diavolo pizza since the pasta wasn’t very filling, but I expected it to be way better. It was like a Margarita with 6-7 slices of small salami. It wasn’t what I’m used to from a Diavolo pizza. I’ve been to hundreds of Italian restaurants and I love to find great quality places off the touristy spots.. but I probably put my expectations too high here. Well, I went there because it was recommended as a hidden gem on a website when I did some research.. but im not sure what went wrong that day. Also as a red wine lover I wasn’t a fan of their house red.. I was told it was a Cabernet Sauvignon but it didn’t taste like it at all. My friend ordered a Tiramisu but the quality also wasnt so good. All in all.. It was good/okay, but I probably won’t return unfortunately.

Really good food in a great setting! Away from the hustle and bustle of Venice, with very friendly staff. We especially enjoyed the lasagna and the tagliatta. Highly recommend!

Google
If and when you go to Il Refolo, do yourself a favor and order the fresh ravioli! Your tastebuds will thank you! This restaurant doesn’t have the most fantastic views in the city but it’s in a nice quiet spot right on a smaller canal, however the food and the service more than make up for it. The ravioli was the most delicious thing I’ve eaten in Italy so far! The staff were very friendly and attentive to your needs. Some places the staff make you feel like a nuisance, but at Il Refolo, they treat you like a true guest. We would definitely go again!

Google
Service was good, very friendly very fast. The location is also very nice, directly at the water but a little away from the masses. 2,50€ coperto is fair + prices are ok, high for italy ok for venezia. Portion sizes on the smaller end. Food tasted very good! Toilets clean.

Google
I got the bolognese while my friend got the 'Peppa pig' pizza. Both very nice, although the portion size of pasta could have been bigger. Great location right by the canal, quiet away from the crowds. There was a €2.50 cover charge per person

Yelp
This place was super accessible. Every table but one was taken. We waited by the menu and were greeted to come and sit at the last available table. They were very a accommodating an able to speak english and were very patient when we tried out our studied Italian :). We ordered the Peppa pig. There are much better pizzas on the menu :) this is definitely a pizza for the bambini. The tiramisu is a must after dinner dessert. It is so light and gave us that extra umf to take on the walk back to the hotel. Lovely place, we will be back!

Yelp
On our first night in Venice we set out to wander around, get lost, and stumble onto a restaurant. Il Refolo did not disappoint--hidden in a small square in the center of Venice, the ambience is hyper picturesque--tables outside, friendly waiters, and a diverse menu. We went on the lighter side, due to jet lag, but were amazed by the quality of the bufala with tomato and the mixed seafood starters. Great wine, too! A place worth seeking out!

Yelp
Super nice restaurant on the side of a small canal. Extremely friendly and attentive wait-staff. Food was excellent. In a gem of a neighborhood. Worth seeking out for sure.

Yelp
This spot was close to our hotel and had a nice outside seating area next to a canal so we figured let's give it a try. It's away from the crowds so it was sort of relaxing to eat and people watch those coming through on boats thru the canal. We sat outside and under some large umbrellas which kept us dry when there was a passing shower. Service was fast and I think our pizzas arrived in 10 minutes from us ordering! We tried a margarita pie for €12 and vegetarian (which had a lot of veggies on top) pie for €13. Both were flavorful and fresh and had a nice soft crust. I preferred the vegetarian pie as the added veggies gave it a bit more flavor. They also serve your standard pasta dishes but it did look like most opted for pizza, especially as their menu had 2 full pages of pizzas to try.

Yelp
Was one of those happy accidents we stumbled upon on the way back to the train station. We just had the gnocchi with smoked salmon, a Bellini, and a spritz, but the gnocchi was AMAZING! The sauce with the salmon was light but flavorful and was a delicious surprise. Not to mention it's right along a back canal which was delightful.

Yelp
Fantasic pizza that was recommended to us by relatives who had been to Venice. The pizza is absolutely delicious and one of the best pies I had on my trip to Italy, and the server was awesome. The best part, though, might be the pseudo-secret square that becomes your personal hideaway from the madness of people traipsing back from San Marco to Piazza Roma and the train station. Sit and watch the boats roll by as you while away the afternoon with a carafe of white wine or a spritz.

Yelp
Great service and food in a non touristy setting. Note I haven't found a place where there aren't other English speakers in Venice so it's all touristy in my opinion but the food was great. I've read the pizza is well known and the pizza menu was extensive, we got the carbonara pizza but anything we saw other diners eating looked heavenly also. Pasta: we got the penne and it was delicious and perfectly al dente Order the ribola white wine

Yelp
4 stars for an inexpensive, delicious dinner and a great spot to escape the crowds. When I was there, I was the only tourist in a dining room full of locals -- always a great sign! This restaurant was not far from my hotel on the grand canal, so I thought I'd check it out on my first night in Venice. Despite using my phone for directions, I almost walked right past the unassuming entrance. A staff member welcomed me inside and around the back to the small dining room. On a chilly evening (like the night I was there), this restaurant's 10 tables will fill up FAST. Warmer temps that allow for comfortable dining al fresco will more than double the number of tables available. I was seated promptly without a reservation. Now, for the meal - The tuna tartare appetizer was delicious. The fish was fresh and bright in color and full of flavor. The carbonara pizza was very good, but not necessarily what I was expecting. From other photos, I thought the egg might be cooked and placed in the center of the pizza. This was more like... scrambled and drizzled over the top. The pizza was still delicious and the dough was obviously fresh. It didn't blow my mind (I'm not sure if my expectations of pizza in Italy were too high) but it was very good and I'd visit this spot again. The staff was very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable.

Yelp
By far the best mea we had in Venice!! The seafood risotto and eggplant parmigiana were big hits with our group. Delicious food and good service at a very cute setting. Would definitely go again if we go back to Venice.

Yelp
Extremely good pizza and a delicious caprese salad (balsamic and olive oil were served on the side), we also got two glasses of the house white wine and a tiramisu to share for dessert, all for 40 euros (there's no table fee here, but 10% tip is included). We were happy to find such a good restaurant with such reasonable prices.

Yelp
Very tasty dishes and a nice (and reasonably priced) wine selection. Wait until the sun is below the buildings to eat here since it is not shaded. Very popular, so you may need a reservation (we told them we would be finished in less than 90 minutes, so they squeezed us in). 10% service charge included. Our dinner bill for two with wine came to €70.

Yelp
This place definitely deserves more reviews!! We researched a little to find a reasonably priced authentic restaurant and found it!! We had a pizza w/ pepperoni & red spicy peppers and the spinach salad w/ mushrooms, bacon & pecorino. Both were great. The pizza had amazing crust, perfect balance of sauce/cheese, good pepperoni & the spicy peppers gave it little kick. The spinach salad was lightly tossed in a vinaigrette dressing & they did not skimp on the bacon! The mushrooms were alright. This was enough food for my boyfriend and I but we did get some gelato afterwards someplace else. Service was great, our server spoke Italian but I heard others speaking English (I'm sure they would be able to communicate if you had any questions about the menu). It's away from the touristy areas, as others have mentioned. Very charming to sit outside as it's very quiet, perfect for an intimate date.

Yelp
We remember this place from 10 years ago. It's small, with generous outdoor seating under sturdy umbrellas. Whether you want simply a pizza or a full course meal, it is excellent and the service rapid and pleasant. We chose it for a milestone birthday dinner, no regrets. Try the scampi with peaches.

Yelp
Spaghetti Carbonara great and Pizze are delicious. Young service. Nippon style atmo inside. Beautiful venices scenery outside.

Yelp
This was the absolute best pasta I have ever had the pleasure of consuming in my entire life. We ordered a third plate just to sample more. The dessert was also delightful. Would highly recommend this picturesque restaurant to anyone and everyone. Amazing.

Yelp
Amazing!! Enough said!! We found this restaurant in Fodor's Venice guide and realized it was close to our hotel. The map seemed easy enough to follow. Or so we thought. After a couple of walks down narrow alleys, and ducking through an arched tunnel we come upon an open piazza area where kids are playing soccer and realized we came upon an area where the locals live. Perfect to get away from the touristy area. After walking a bit we finally found the place. The seating area was setup in an open area right along the canal. There wasn't too many people when we got there and it was very peaceful. I had the mezza luna pizza. Half my pizza was a margherita pizza. The other half was folded over like a calzone and stuffed with eggplants shrimp and cheese. I'm not a huge fan of the bitterness of eggplant but I'm not sure how they managed to cook the bitterness out of it and actually make it taste really good. I recommend this place for anyone wanting to get away from the touristy area. Don't worry about getting lost. That's the hidden beauty of Venice. Get a little lost and find your way back. You'll definitely enjoy your time.

Yelp
The food is great BUT the staff regularly makes fun of the visitors. We had lunch there first and chalked up the server's attitude to having a bad day - the food was great. Went back for dinner the next night and experienced the staff (cooks, waitstaff, and manager) all making fun of the customers especially the tourists. You never know when someone in a party might speak enough Italian to know what you're saying...

Yelp
Book to sit outside on a Saturday night. We didn't and maybe the service was better in the courtyard. Food was ok nothing stunning, recommend squid salad starter and pizza del doge. About €35 pp with wine, including service.

Yelp
You can't go wrong with much in Venice, the place is truly breath taking and simply gorgeous. Il Refolo is a wonderful place to have a great tasting meal and glass of vino if you'd like. The setting is very romantic and unique to Venice, you can dine while under the stars or sun with a great view of the canal and occasional gondolas passing by as well as cathedral bells ringing. The lamb here is really great and worth trying and be sure to save room for dessert!

Yelp
Carbonara pizza!!! Didn't even know this existed until now. The service and food is excellent. Our host recommended us this restaurant. It is one of the best in Venice. They are very friendly to tourists but they do cater to locals too. Prices are reasonable and the quality is high. Love Venice but it's hard to find a solid legitimate restaurant, this is one of the few really good restaurants available.

Yelp
What a quiet little section of the square. We had monkfish and fantastic ravioli. We would recommend it highly.

Yelp
Very disappointed. They served us old stale bread. And the pasta with clams was incredibly salty. The clams were fresh but were overly seasoned. I do not recommend going to this place. Prices are also quite high.

Yelp
Awesome. Great meal. Great service. Great location. Great menu variety. We'd eat here again in a heartbeat

Yelp
Excellent service and wonderful food and atmosphere. In my wife and I's discussion of our trip to Europe from England to Rome this is one of the places we keep reminiscing about.

Yelp
Decent and overpriced. Sardine pasta too salty. Scampi pasta a little less so. Come here if you've got more money than sense

Yelp
It's good. In a quieter part of Venice, so easy to get a seat outside in a small square. Staff were friendly and had great recommendations. I had a pizza which was delicious with fresh ingredients. My GF had a creative ravioli. A great restaurant in a city where it can be hard to find good food.

Yelp
excellent service and great pizza. THIS IS A MUST VISIT PLACE.

Yelp
Great food and great service! We arrived 30 minutes before our reservation, and they had us wait just five minutes and gave us Prosecco while we waited! The staff was very friendly (and spoke English). The food was very good. We had salad and a plate of melon with mozzarella for starters, gnocchi and a pizza for dinner, and two yummy desserts. Along with water and a beer, and 10% service, the meal was about 75 euros. It was worth it! The ambience was also really nice, along a canal. There were also locals eating here along with tourists, so we knew it would be good!
