Stayed in unit 1543. There are pros and cons to this specific unit. Pros are the view of the beach and lagoon area from one balcony and marina views from the other balcony. In unit washer and dryer was very convenient. Cons would be that it needs some TLC. The carpet needs replacing for sure and the walls need a paint job. The couch/pull out bed could be better. There was construction going on above us during our stay (which we were not aware of beforehand) so that made for a few early mornings and the banging/drilling lasted all day. I don’t believe the unit is worthy of the price they charge. The pictures definitely made it look more upscale than it is. The condo building itself is in a great location!

We stayed here a week through our timeshare. Wish we had a beach view but morning sunrise on city side was nice. Big outdoor patio. Lots of shops and stores was a big plus. The beach is close but very rocky. Recommend wearing water shoes. Did not spend much time at pools. Some room suggestions would be ceiling fan in room, a hairdryer, beach towels in room (we had to buy some) and a bigger TV. When checking in let people know they can rent beach gear. No one told us and we asked other guests and they told us about renting beach chairs. Again we had to buy chairs to leave in room as we couldn't take them home. Overall great experience.

We were trying to decide between The Prince Waikiki and The Ilikai and I’m so glad our dates were not available at The Prince - The Ilikai was the perfect choice for us. We were given a room that was exactly what we requested (ocean view, non-smoking, quiet) and we were very happy and comfortable. ||The room was very clean - I always use disinfecting wipes all over a hotel room and there was no dirt - at all. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I’ve ever slept on - I would like to know the make and model of the mattress. There was a selection of pillows to use and I found one that was perfect. |Having a full sized kitchen was very convenient for storing our bottled water and snacks. ||The staff was very good - very friendly and helpful. |The only negative was that one day, I left a note for the housekeeper to leave extra face towels along with my daily (fairly generous) tip - she left ONE face towel - not one extra one but a single one for two people who actually would have liked 3 in total. I found her and got another one but that was a lapse. And the “adjustable” shower head wouldn’t adjust. But aside from that - this was the best Hawaiian hotel stay we’ve ever had - and we have had 3 previous hotel stays in Hawaii. I should add that we got coupons for 1 small ice cream per day from the in-hotel ice cream shop and 2 bottles of water per day. There are shops and restaurants in the hotel and you’re right next door to The Hilton Hawaiian Village for more choices and the beach is right outside the back of the hotel.||I’m day dreaming of moving into The Ilikai.

This is our last beautiful morning at Ilikai! 😩! We couldn’t have asked for anything more. We loved our mini suite and beautiful balcony view of marina and sunsets! Our room attendant did a great job. Always knew when we were gone and got our room done quickly. Ice cream was a plus and a nice treat. We absolutely loved mornings on our balcony watching the surfers! Lots of surfers. We ate several times at Menehune and had very good food. Pineapple chicken was delish. The grounds here are beautiful they take very good care. Fireworks on Friday nights were great! Chester at the front desk was so friendly and helpful great asset to Ilikai! Everyone was very friendly thank you Ilikai for a fabulous week!

The experience here is good! I've stayed here twice and I am satisfied, rooms clean, the oceanside view and sunsets are gorgeous! Only thing I'd say is that the valet do try their best, but both my stays I have experienced waiting in a crowd for my car to be checked in or returned in the day time. Also if the TV would be upgraded to a smart one that'd be lovely. Cable tv is rare to watch nowadays. For the stay price, I'd still recommend!

The room is very large actually feels like an apartment. Kitchen was beautiful and stocked with absolutely everything needed to cook any meal. The balcony overlooking the marina is large with a table, 3 chairs and 1 lounger. Spotlessly clean with many conveniences. Hotel was very busy towards the weekend but we never felt crowded due to the layout of the Ilikai. Price seemed fair since you could save some money by cooking your meals yourself.

This condo is absolutely beautiful. We just got back from a 8 day stay and we have nothing bad to say. The views are amazing, pools are great. I would definitely recommend this condo to anyone and everyone. The fireworks and hula were great. Its so close to the beach, Pearl harbor and shopping. This was a great way to spend our 20th wedding anniversary. Thank you

Google
You’re literally paying for a motel 6 run down, disgusting, smelly room! Don’t do it!! The beach toys has birds nests in them, that’s how old and gross everything in this place is! Management does NOT care about your experience whatsoever… A little paint job can go a long way with the damaged walls everywhere. Loose wires everywhere. The bedsheets didn’t even fit the mattress. The bed smelled and felt damp. Honestly, just such a terrible experience. We had to find a new hotel and request a refund because we couldn’t even breathe the nasty air in the room. They didn’t make the refund process easy either.

Yelp
Overall, the experience here was wonderful. On-site dining options and in the heart of Waikīkī. Our unit had a great view of the marina and amazing sunsets. The only drawback to our stay was the condition of our unit. It wasn't in bad shape, just dated when compared with the rest of our family's condos. Although we were there to really only sleep, some upgraded amenities are in order. The furniture was probably 10-15 years old and very hotel-ish. TV is in bad need of replacement (we ended up just viewing off our phones). I highly recommend the Ilikai, just keep an eye on the condo you rent...they're privately owned so amenities vary unit-to-unit.

Yelp
I definitely hope that the Ilikai renovates the mauka side timeshare rooms fast. They're pretty dated and in need of a good overhaul. We traded RCI points to stay here. Bellmen with the luggage racks are not employed by the hotel and they charge $5 per bag to bring up to your room. It's going to sound like a lot of complaints but we also pay like $1,500 a year in timeshare maintenance fees so *shrug.* Hallways are not air-conditioned. They are absolutely sweltering. We stayed in room 2013. This is by far the smallest timeshare kitchen I've ever had, with only 3 lower cabinets that had a strong, musty smell. There is no dishwasher nor disposal, nor ventilation system. Our neighbors were up cooking every day at 5 AM and we could smell it. I kept waking up thinking I had left the stove on - nope, just people cooking without ventilation. There is also some nasty looking hatch next to the stove for what I'm assuming is electrical. Per the photos, it's unappetizing. The hot water was barely lukewarm, even after getting a notification that the hot water was being turned off on a certain day due to maintenance issues. Even afterward, the shower never got hot enough for there to be steam in the bathroom. They also still use single use plastic bottles of shampoo, so you need like 5 of them to get a tablespoon or two of shampoo out. It's super annoying because there is no ledge in the shower, just a single porcelain soap dish, so you have to store all these tiny bottles on the floor. I also noticed some mold on the caulking. Pool ran out of towels and is pretty old looking. It definitely needs a refresh. You aren't allowed to use the fitness center if you're renting a timeshare, which is odd. There is 1 show / activity at the resort on Fridays - a hula show. It's under the tree in the center of the courtyard and there is no stage. Because there is no stage, if you're not in the very front row, you can't see anything. The good: super convenient location next to Hilton Hawaiian Village so you will have a prime view on the deck to watch the free Aloha Fridays firework show. The lobby area and courtyard are also super pretty. The elevators are also pretty fast. I stayed here for 7 nights in September 2024.

Yelp
I personally like this hotel and also worked in it it's well kept clean places to eat and some shopping places on the bottom in the begging of Waikīkī close to Alamoana mall if you love shopping

Yelp
I've stayed at the ilikai more than a few times now and I keep coming back! I really enjoy getting a room with a kitchen, since I have extensive allergies and need to cook for myself often. It's also a great location in my opinion. It's near the end of the Waikiki strip, so you don't have to deal with a ton of Waikiki traffic when driving around. I enjoy getting up in the mornings and grabbing a cold brew from across the street and then walking the beach. It's a favorite past time of mine. Will gladly return. On my last stay we did have 3 fire alarms. That was quite annoying but at least one of them was legitimate - thankfully there were no injuries! The other 2, we aren't sure if the alarm was mistakenly tripped or if there was also a valid reason for the evacuation.

Yelp
I have stayed here some time ago. This time I had an ocean view room on the 22nd floor. It had a kitchen, sofa and king size bed. There was a balcony as well. I received coupons for 2 bottles of water daily, a small scoop of ice cream daily at Dave's Ice Cream and one complimentary Mai tai at the restaurant. The location is convenient to Ala Moana Mall, restaurants and food markets. There's a lending library for guests and residences and a poke restaurant as well as coffee shop and restaurant.

Yelp
This review is long overdue!! My family and I spent our 8 days of our Hawaiian vacation here at Ilikai Hotel and Luxury Suites during our visit in February of this year. First things first, my guy and I were in need of something clean and spacious for our extremely hyper child to roam. On top of that, I wanted a room that had a nice view of the waters. After lots of searching and going back and forth amongst reviews and images, we decided to go with Ilikai's ocean view suite equipped with a king size bed. Our stay was filled with a good combination of ups and downs: POSITIVES: Staff was really welcoming! Upon your stay, the room is provided 1 complimentary single scoop of ice cream from Dave's Ice cream each day [ice cream shop is located onsite]. Two bottles of complimentary waters are provided daily and you are able to skip the daily visits and collect all bottle on the spot if you wished. Both the ice cream and bottled water is redeemed via voucher that is provided at the initial time of check-in. NEGATIVES: There was no shell lei greeting provided which is supposed to be included in your daily amenity fee and openly listed on their website. Housekeeping service is only provided after X amount of days- with us staying 8 days, we were allowed ONE cleaning and the staff at the front desk informed to us that the day of cleaning could not be changed to an earlier or later date. [FYI: staff requests that guests be out of the room for a few hours to allow for the services to be done]. Another inconvenience that stood out was our shower head being broken and water squirting outside of the tub and the shampoo bottle being replaced with a second bottle of conditioner by housekeeping. The biggest headache of all was the elevators not working and us having to climb down flights and flight and flights of stairs from the 23rd floor. This was an absolute liability waiting to happen- tons of tiny children, elderly, and heavy set guests going up and down the narrow steps was not the business. Guests who were checking out and lugging along multiple large luggage, people with large wagons full of food and beach gear just added to the grueling trek. The staff repeatedly insisted that the issue would be fixed and each time the time frame provided came and went without any additional explanation. 3 stars overall. Ilikai would potentially be a contender for a future stay but I'll definitely look into other properties. Be advised that parking is a bit of a pain- it consists of a long walk from the hotel and annoyingly pricy daily fees.

Yelp
Being a Wyndham owner/guest, you expect more. This room was OK, but nothing to write home about. The outlet in the bathroom never worked so I had to do my hair at the desk. Maintenance finally came up to look at it. The TV sometimes worked, sometimes didn't. Don't expect to go anywhere quick because the elevators are the slowest elevators I think I've ever encountered! The ceiling in the hallway waiting for the elevators is ready to fall down. People live in this hotel, and when you go down the elevator from the restaurant, it's a shame to see how dirty all the patios are. I realize Wyndham does not own this hotel (that's exactly what it is, a hotel), but the representation you give your owners is quite different than what you receive here.
google avatar

Jamie A.

Yelp
Our first time staying here and it was beautiful and very convenient being 10-15 mins away from the airport. The view was beautiful from our patio and I just felt at peace on my last few days in Hawaii before leaving. I would definitely recommend and return regardless of the reviews.

Yelp
I stayed here during my visit to Waikiki. The room itself is super spacious and had all of the amenities I needed! I had an enormous window and balcony overlooking the ocean which made the stay all the better! My only complaint is that the front desk service seemed really annoyed that I came up to them to check-in at the start. I had gotten there early and just wanted to drop off my baggage to explore before going up to my room. Otherwise, the Ilikai is so close to so many things nearby, definitely a great place to stay.

Yelp
We spent 4 nights here via my timeshare and then another night as a hotel guest and the rooms were almost exactly the same. That said, this time around, of the 6 elevators, there were only two working which made getting up and down from our room extremely annoying and we had to wait each time. As far as the rooms and the overall hotel is concerned, it's very nice. Everything you need is in the lobby, and I have to mention the breakfast spot as it's fantastic (albeit a bit pricey). Now as this is a condo/hotel/timeshare combination, the biggest annoyance for me (other than the aforementioned elevator situation) are really the condo owners as they are mostly older and can be quite bossy. Perhaps it was frustrations with the elevator but each time we bumped into a condo owner, they had something to say, usually some sort of criticism or just a complaint in general. As a timeshare, this place is awesome but as a hotel, there are probably better ones out there.

Yelp
When we came here for 10 days, the front desk (I don't want to mentioned it's name) it's like it's not happy with its job as dealing with Asian people or having a problem in his life bringing at work, even wearing a mask I can tell not happy nor smiling - I work for long yrs in hotel in different positions and my parents work too in hotel more on HSKP- then put us 2 days cleaning or service which we stay 10 days in this hotel which other hotel do every other days or every other 2 days but he give us every other 4 days then that first day of service never done in morning when we went out for a group tour at 7 am which we came back 4 pm still the same when we left and I call the FD -front desk - on why we didn't have service which should have been imputed in the system and the manual input from FD manager to HAKP manager or it's in the OPERA system or other system being use in the hotel then he ask our room number- should be in digital screen on the phone when receiving calls from the room,Few minutes then came the houseperson or housekeeper guy which I ask to change the linen of our bed and he said yes then we went out to buy food , came back and notice didn't change the bed linen and pillow case only change towels. The TV console which the DVD unit doesn't have the 3 pin wire at all plus there's a disc inside -Godzilla and kong plus the HDMI of the tv to watch local channel isn't working nor/or connected. Aircon unit never been dusted or maintained to clean its louvers/ grilles, nor the evaporator coil/ filter. My questions are: - there a communication problem within HSKP -FD - does the room being checked on the units like tv - dvd and aircon if it's working or not or connected to its device or cleaned. In addition to this, never sell room till the guest call for extension of checkout which I tried to do late checckout which the front desk told me that they sold it to new guest which we need to go out regular time which our flight is around 9pm so we have what 7hours to go around with suitcase and BTW , why a guest need to pay to store the suitcase for $2 each instead of voluntarily or fixed price on stored luggage like at least $1 each coz if a guest had 10 so the bellman got 20$ , insane especially time like this people don't like to spend much for it

Yelp
*I didn't stay at this hotel, but frequented some of the businesses. I haven't been to the Ilikai in ages. Ilikai is a hotel/condo. I had a friend who rented out a condo years ago. HIs unit was pretty nice and spacious. He didn't have a view of the ocean though as it was facing the street. The only thing I don't like about this place is finding parking. Good luck, lol! I walked in from the backside and forgot how beautiful this place is. From the outside looking in the building isn't that impressive, but once you step foot in the lobby it's a whole different world. I was impressed with how nice and clean everything looked in the lobby. They have a lot of shops in the lobby. I even saw a wedding dress and photo studio. I came today to go to Paradise Poke Hawaii and Dave's Ice Cream. They also house the two Restaurants Pesca and Cinnamon's.

Yelp
I booked our stay here through Expedia, and basically picked it due to the location and descent pricing compared to other places on the island. This was our first time in Hawaii, and Ilikai did not disappoint at all. The Ilikia is about 20 minutes from the airport (we did a fairly easy trip via Uber), they have bell staff that helps with your luggage, and the staff working the front is descent. I definitely wouldn't say they are the friendliest, but they are descent. The rooms in this hotel are absolutely beautiful, we had a suit on the 20th floor. It had a great view of the city, and the room itself was extravagant, tons of room, a kitchenette, plates, a refrigerator with microwave, television, great shower, big bed, and pretty much all the works. The Ilikai has two swimming pools, and tons of shops inside of it, there was a great little snack bar inside with Poke and some of the best Spam Musubi I've ever had in my life. When we arrived, the staff also gave us free Ice Cream coupons, to get free ice cream in the shop within the hotel. There is a nice restaurant, coffee shops, regular shops, and a small little work filled with convenience within the Ilikai. The back of the hotel gives you a straight connection to the beach, within 5 to 10 minutes you can be living your best Aloha Beach Life. They have a travel desk, that can also provide you with different tips and make reservations for different things you can do on the island. We found many things to be walking distance with tons of ABC stores all around as well for us to buy souvenirs and any other items of our choosing. Overall, the entire experience was great. The hotel is incredible, the only really lacking was customer service. We found much of the staff not too be very friendly. The other kicker, was the surprise charges that you get. Maybe, I am a sucker, or I didn't realize this. I had prepaid for this entire booking in advanced, but at the moment of checking out the charged me another extra 200 bucks for various nonsense fees and taxes that I was not familiar with. It would have been great if they would have had the decency to give some warning about these charges prior. Nonetheless, the location was so nice, that I still have to give this place 4 stars. Just be warned friends! Aloha!

Yelp
Very impressed with this hotel. The room was remodeled very nicely and included everything you needed to stay there. I like the fact that the one bedroom suite we got had two full bathrooms. Only wish the carpet was cleaned/vacuumed more often. But I will most definitely go back there again!

Yelp
We stayed here for 5 nights in May and it was awesome. No lines at check in and the shuttle drops you off right in front of lobby. We booked a package through Costco, which included hotel, airfare and transportation. The hotel is more of a condo style type, mostly family and elderly so not a party hotel. It's definitely more quiet than the Hilton which we prefer. It's right next to the Hilton Village where we stayed at last year so we're familiar with the area. I like that it's right next to the parking lot so you don't have to use hotel parking which can be steep at $40 a night. Theres only one pool and if u go during peak hours, it can get pretty crowded, but the water is nice and warm. The staff here were all very friendly and helpful. The only downside was no in unit washer and dryer, but each floor had one paid facility in the hallway. Unfortunately, ours was broken during our stay. Luckily, I packed enough clothes for 6 days. Not sure if all the rooms are suites, but we booked the sunset view with a full kitchen and watching the sunset from our balcony every evening was the highlight of our trip.

Yelp
Family vacation for 8 nights. Top floor loved the view! However 2 times we had to use the stairs due to a fire. I am in my 60s and this was no fun. Then the valet hit our rental and tried to hide it. They only comped one night of the parking and did not even really say sorry.
google avatar

Yelp
We booked the unit via Airbnb, and we got to know we are actually in a hotel after we get here! The lobby looks nice, also it has few on site restaurants. The back of the hotel is quite nice and can walk directly to the marina and lagoon. It's just next door to Hilton. The view from our balcony is beautiful and we enjoy watching sunset on our balcony. On each Friday night, the hotel organize the Hawaii hula show, which is not what i expected but it's entertaining. On 7:45pm, you can enjoy the firework show hosted by Hilton hotel. That's wonderful! Room is nice, with full kitchen. We mostly have breakfast here which is super convenient. Love this place!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel right on the beach in Honolulu. A short walk to shopping and restaurants. A great place for couples or family who desire units with a full kitchen. Kitchen is well stocked and the nearby grocery stores and ABC stores have much of what you need to make a meal. There is a car rental kiosk for Hertz/Dollar in the lobby if you don't wish to rent. Car for your entire stay at the airport. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel is older so room sound proofing is good. A smaller swimming pool on the ground floor can get crowded but there are times when it is less used. Our room was on the Ala Moana BLVD side and even on the 20th floor traffic nose is considerable on the balcony. But our balcony was shaded all day which made sitting out enjoyable. Tower rooms facing the ocean had considerable noise from the Union demonstrators beating drums and chanting at the Hilton Hawaiian Village next door. That was the other reason we elected the street side. Car noise was preferable to us. Next time if the strike is settled we might try an ocean front room.

Deb K.

Yelp
First time here! My regular resort was sold out! This was a nice alternative'! The resort has a wonderful restaurant grille! It served a wonderful shrimp scampi! it has great live music especially on THURSDAY nights!! My room was the full ocean view with a full kitchen! 25th floor right under the Penthouse!

Yelp
Conveniently located near the Hilton Lagoon with a quick 2 min walk and also far enough to be away from the crowd. We rented an AirBnB and the view was amazing.

Marcia A.

Yelp
We booked through the hotel and stayed for a week. It was great. All of the staff were top notch and a pleasure to interact with. The 2 bedroom suite we stayed in had a glorious view, was comfortable, and clean. We enjoyed the restaurants there, the area was very convenient, loved the valet parking, and enjoyed both pools. The only UH was our bed wasn't the most comfortable, but have had worse. Overall we loved our stay there and plan to return.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a iconic landmark with the original HI 5-0 amd the more recent TV show where they would gather by the yellow shrimp truck at the Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon. It has a great seafood restaurant Pesca at the top with great views and menu...I'll write another separate review on that. The hotel is perfectly located for enjoying Waikiki walking distance along the famous beach and open air complex of the Hawaiian Hilton Village next door. It has the great local restaurant Cinnamons and local live entertainment. Walking distance to the convention center and Ala Moana Shopping Center. The units are mostly recently renovated and there is a variety of hotel operators as well as short term rentals and residents. No time share in this building.

Patricia J.

Yelp
Amazing spot comfortable, immaculate and convenient! Would stay here again and again! Host David was very accommodating!

Yelp
We stayed here during our visit to Waikiki Oahu, don't even look further this is a best place to stay with kids, very closer to the ocean and the Lagoon. The rooms are very spacious and I like the kitchen inside the room. I also liked the spacious balcony and the city view at night. The staff is friendly and also gave a special cookie assortment for our anniversary. They also gave out vouchers for the ice cream shop where we ended up spending more than what we thought, but those ice creams were delicious. We also use the swimming pool, which could take some updates, but the kids enjoyed the pool a lot. You can walk to a lot of food joints from this place. The valet parking might sound expensive, but they did a fantastic job on the valet parking. There were minor renovations going on at the entrance of the hotel when we visited in the summer it didn't bother much. There were always some evens happening like light music come on Dance and so on which we enjoyed after a day at the beach. Behind the hotel, once you go down the ramp and at the Harbor parking lot, you can get a good view of the sunset. This hotel has everything you need and you will enjoy it. Try this place, I referred one of my friends here, and he stayed in December, and he enjoyed it too!

Yelp
Beautiful view and amazing restaurants and bars. Very pleasant staff. The views from 1328 were beautiful with three pools, a lagoon and the ocean! Fireworks on Friday night! It was made to order!

Yelp
We have stayed here several times over the few years, and the venue and location is top notch. Not directly on the Waikiki strip, but about a 10 min walk away, this location is directly in front of the Waikiki marina. Because you are not directly on th strip, you get to avoid the crush of tourists directly in front of your hotel. In addition this location is about a 15 walk to the famous Ala Moana mall, and Foodland and Don Quixote's. We stayed in one of the owner occupied rooms, not the hotel, and it was perfect for longer stays at a more reasonable price. We had a large king bed, sofa and large screen tv , as well as a small work area with Wi-fi and a kitchen. In addition, we had a perfect ocean view from the lanai overlooking the lagoon. There is a great restaurant, Cinnamon's downstairs, as well as live music and hula on Fridays at 6pm. A great location at a fantastic price away from the hustle of the Waikiki Strip.

Yelp
SERVICE Slow checkin but Michelle was very nice & gave great customer service. The welcome package is also very tasteful (refreshments, snacks, lei). Elevators are small. High resort fees, no breakdown of the fees & they don't appear to be used for anything lofty like donating to charity. Payment systems are also dated & don't support tap/electronic methods. Maid & bell services are available at select hours; this is a bit silly for a hotel to exploit resort fees without staff or a service solution outside peak hours. No late checkout offered & rushed out the room 10m before checkout. ROOM (studio) Lots of storage space & comfortably spacious for a party of 2. Fully functional kitchen, sans dishwasher Stainless steel appliances. Remote controlled AC unit is low performing & doesn't go below 64 (being on the 25th floor also doesn't help). Lovely view & patio; chairs could be made from a more comfortable material or offer better cushions. BATH Basic apartment studio bathroom without ventilation or exhaust. Small shower walk-in shower with detachable multi spray-pattern shower head. Towels are on the smaller side & there are few hooks/bars to encourage reuse for a party of 2. Good water pressure throughout but the clogged sinks were slow to drain. BED Small standard size pillows on king bed is disappointing but the mattress itself sleeps great! Bedding feels very budget/ecenomic but it's clean & does the job. TV Basic programming TV; Samsung flatscreen wall mount. DVD rentals available. No smart functions or casting support. Remote buttons are all faded so it's difficult to use if not familiar with a cable box. WI-FI Great download speeds but frequent packet drops 72-79 Mbps down; 18 Mbps up NOISE Lots of external city noises (sirens, motorcycles, car horns, etc) but isolation between units is great & noise doesn't leak in from the hallway. FOOD Restaurants on the property accessible from lobby & very tasty (shaved ice, ice cream, poke). The only access to ice is via the reception desk DoorDash/UberEats friendly with lots of options within pickup distance. Mini coffee bar provided. VERDICT Lots of room for service & maintenance improvements but oversell a solid experience & staycation worthy if you can get over the egregious resort fees & spotty internet. Outside of peak season I think this property would be very competitive price wise & would recommend it. 3.5/5 Video Walkthrough: https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cun0MUnAG1N/?igshid=YzcxN2Q2NzY0OA==

Yelp
Front desk staff are incompetent and unprofessional. After one night of our stay, we realized that they did not provide adequate amount of shampoo, soap, conditioner and coffee. Strike one! When I went to front desk, they informed me that they could not give us the items we paid for and we're entitled--strike 2! This place is expensive and I expect to be treated with basic respect should I need basic provisions during my stay here. Part II--also at the front desk, the staff person was expressly RUDE! STRIKE III ! I will never stay at this location again! UNACCEPTABLE. Don't waste your time and money here--it's a waste.

Yelp
Let me preface this with I have never stayed at this resort, nor will I ever after seeing how their front desk treats people. I was staying at the resort next door, The Modern, and I was treating my family to ice cream at a location attached to the Llikai hotel. My family and I were enjoying our ice cream on the patio area of the Llikai hotel. Unfortunately, my five year old daughter tipped over in her chair badly injuring her leg between the metal backing of the chair and the tile floor. Her leg immediately began to swell and bruise, and of course she began crying uncontrollably. My wife ran in to the Llikai hotel to get ice for my daughter's leg. The front desk employee gave my wife attitude immediately and wanted to know what room my family was staying in. When my wife told the employee that we were not staying at their hotel, the employee threw more attitude directed at my wife and reluctantly got a bag of ice. When the front desk employee returned with the ice, the employee angrily told my wife that we should not ask them for anything else and if we needed anything we needed to go to security around the corner. Never did this employee ask if my daughter was okay, if we needed medical assistance or showed any compassion at all. In the end, I am just disgusted with the degree of how a front desk employee (the face of the business) could be so disconnected to people and have such a lack of compassion, empathy or customer service (I know I'm not exactly a customer, but that is what the front desk is supposed to demonstrate). For me, I would never stay anywhere that only bases treating others humanely if you are a customer (not convinced you will get compassion as a paying customer either).

Yelp
Our stay at the Ilikai was made so special by the positivity of Terry at the pool. She worked everyday of our stay, from 7:30am to 7:15pm - and even at the end of her day she was still smiling and having fun with the kids. Experiencing Terry's aloha from the beginning to the end of the day was a highlight of our trip. Management should reward and retain her, as she's an individual who adds so much value to the Ilikai hotel and will make me a repeat customer. We look forward to seeing Terry next time we visit! The location of the Ilikai is excellent - close to Ala Moana, bus stop right in front, next to Hilton Hawaiian Village, the lagoon and beach. Perfect for viewing the Friday night fireworks. Ilikai puts on a hula show on Friday from 6-8pm. Dave's Kona coffee ice cream is delicious and cheaper by the pint ($5.99) at the shop compared to getting cones. The convenience store has fresh Lion coffee ($1.89 for 20oz).

Yelp
Beautiful hotel! Room was a nice size and had amazing views of the water. The convenience store and restaurant Cinnamons was by far the best things at the hotel. Their cinnamon roll pancake was to die for and the drinks at the bar were delicious. The convenience store was a bit pricey but so is everything else in Hawaii. Great place to stay if you want the condo feel!

Yelp
We loved staying here. For context, we were a family of five with a teenager and two kids under 10. Here's a list of why we liked it: - clean. - polite staff - easy access to beach and lagoon - pool was nice. It's shady in the morning, so perhaps afternoon is better. Terry at the pool was amazing with her service. - Easy to book a massage and we got a discount for being guests at the hotel. I really enjoyed the spa. - I personally loved the location. It's not too crowded, but right on the beach and near lots of shopping. Short hike to the major shopping. - bus 20 stops right outside and there is a McDonald's and ABC superstate store right across the beach. - we tried cinnamons downstairs and Dave's ice cream also downstairs. Love them both - check out those reviews. - In the event you just do not want to leave the hotel, there is a Market with several items including eggs, milk, slushies etc.! Super convenient. I would totally stay here again in a heartbeat.

Yelp
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. COCKROACHES COCKROACHES!!! enough said. Me and my wife had to move twice and each room had cockroaches. The third room smelled of mildew. We bought food to cook and had to throw it away because of the bugs. This was our honeymoon stay and the experience was ruined.

Yelp
We had a very nice stay in this establishment. Bathrooms are 50 years old, so nothing modern here. Late 60's design. Great views from the balcony. Kitchen in the room so you can cook. Full library with many different options Japanese and Korean.

Yelp
We stayed here 7/19/22 to 7/26/22. I wanted to let everyone know, this place is really nice. I was impressed how quiet it is, considering it's a huge high rise and there is a lot of activity going on. We stayed on the 21st floor. I slept really well each night and enjoyed the evenings as well. The parking staff (valet only) is very helpful, efficient and friendly. The room is older but it's all renovated and the place is so nice and kept up. The shower was really nice and the room had a nice ocean view with huge doors that opened up wide. We enjoyed meals outside overlooking the ocean. Also anytime we needed help from hotel staff everybody was very efficient and helpful and friendly. Also the hotel has two pools that are great and a really cute and kept up, there is a delicious ice cream shop and a restaurant that is also delicious. With a lot of outdoor dining. We enjoyed the coffee shop every morning, and the store located downstairs had delicious musubi we would grab in the am before it sold out. This hotel is located walking distance to a mcdonald's and an abc store and also the ocean. It's also close to the marina and a cute little beach called "magic lagoon" we enjoyed. it's private, quiet, no waves, clean with parking and shade and it's less stress with kids (imo). Also since we stayed so long I ended up doing 4 loads of laundry - it was nice to have that option. The facility was clean and everything was running well! We will book this place again! Thankyou :)

Yelp
Spent a week here with the family in a 500sq. ft. Condo. The views from the 20th floor were amazing, the condo was equipped with a kitchen and we did do some cooking when we didn't feel like walking around for food. Great place, great stay

Yelp
Luxury is gone from this place! Horrible experience for an honeymoon. Roaches on top of roaches. Had the thro away food because of roaches. Had to move my room twice because of roaches. Elevator broke so takes 15 mins to get back to room. Not to mention only 7 people on elevator at a time so not to overload generator. Waste of my money.

Yelp
How could anyone give this resort less than 5 stars is beyond me... we stayed on the condo side and we're blown away with the quality and cleanliness of our unit, the staff and the amazing view which gave us front row seats to the return of Waikiki's Friday Fireworks show!!! Check in was easy. With a code we didn't even need to wait for front desk help. Elevators get a bit congested during rush hour but if you find the trash room you can get a private ride most times. From there you have an array of shops for necessities all surrounding the main lobby. Steps from there is the pool, and a short walk to the lagoon which is only accessible by Ilikai and Hilton Rainbow guests. The location was a perfect base camp right in the middle of everything we wanted to do. My reccos nearby: Dave's ice cream in the lobby ABC store employees in lobby were so nice Aloha Jetski Enterprise Rental Car Hard Rock Cafe Doraku Sushi (open late) 53 by the sea (romantic dinner) Sacred Art Tattoo (if you're in the market for ink) This was our 1st wedding anniversary and the Ilikai as well as the incredible people of Honolulu made this 1st anniversary one we will never forget. Mahalo and we hope to see you soon!

Yelp
I was really disappointed with the service. I went there with my family for a 5 day vacation and setup a medical delivery a month before, to arrive a day before we got there. But found out the delivery was refused. Honestly, I understand stuff happens and unfortunately I didn't get all of my medical supplies I needed because of the lack of communication with the staff regarding my delivery. My complaint is that the staff didn't care and did nothing to help me. I've worked in the service and management industry for over 30 years, and I was very disappointed with the customer customer service in a "luxury" establishment. We will never stay there again.

Yelp
Dated and old, once hosted famous folks, but is now showing its age. The pools in particular are terrible and it seemed like only a single elevator per bank were working. There are much nicer, similarly priced places that would be better choices

Yelp
A nice place to stay while on vacation in Waikiki. Lobby is large and spacious, the outdoor garden courtyard is beautifully landscaped with tons of places to sit down and relax. Excellent location to the beach and tons of shopping nearby. Defiantly will return!

Yelp
Worst hotel we've stayed at in Oahu! Extremely dissatisfied! Out of 5 patron elevators only one was operational for a 25 floor resort! Wait time was over 20 minutes if you were that lucky!!! Only one rental generator handling this tremendous amount of staff and "guests"! Yes ...even the staff and service elevators were affected!!! FYI. Our room rate was $400/day and no consideration or compensation for the iconvenience

Juli L.

Yelp
Extraordinarily poor service. Terrible communication. All the elevators were broken for one and a half days. The main casual restaurant was closed with no signage to indicate when it would be open again or anything. The bottom sheet didn't fit the bed and so it kept coming undone. There was a filthy, dirty frying pan, put away in the closet as clean.

Yelp
Elevators were down all day of our departure. Had to 5 trips in the ils stairwell up 19 f ing floors up and down with 50 pound suitcases that barely fit. We had a baby and elderly and they did not care and said the stairs were available. Old hotel with poor planning brought in by board and management. I'm in the condo business and this is COMPLETLY UNACCEPTABLE

Yelp
Do not come here if you are expecting any type of customer service. The staff is unresponsive and uncaring.

Yelp
I have stayed at Ilikai several times and have been my preferred go-to hotel in Oahu. The building might look old, but look past the exterior, and you will find a very clean and organized establishment. Check-in has been a breeze. You have to pay for valet, but I find that convenient and way better than dealing with parking similar to Hilton Hawaiian. The staff is very friendly. The room is beautiful and nicely decorated with a kitchen. The bathroom is clean. I have stayed in a room that overlooked the lagoon, stayed in a room that overlooked other hotels, and a room that overlooked the pool. You're close to shops and restaurants. I must add that you're greeted with an amazing scent of plumerias. The only critique is that I wish they had a washer/dryer in the unit. Other than that, I like this place.

Yelp
This was my second time staying at Ilikai and this might be the only hotel I'll stay at anytime I visit Honolulu. Not only did I have the best time staying here but Ilikai has the best poke bowls downstairs as well, which you can find to the left upon entering the building from the front of the hotel.
