Love the food! The lamb bowl was really, really good. Not the greatest pic but I was hungry. Friendly staff, serviced very quickly. The only issue I had: it was very confusing to get to this place but once you find it, it's really nice! There's was a whole food court here. Very affordable to eat here in NYC, it's very clean place with AC in the 90° weather.

Google
Okay, I don't know what the bad reviews are about. I got the chicken BLT with a side of fries and holy cow this was absolutely delicious !!!! The service was super fast and the food is great. The only issue I had was the the lady who took our order was sitting on her phone and we had to ask for her attention to order but I understand it may get boring to be stuck there for hours upon hours so I won't let that decrease the review because the food was totally awesome !

Had omelettes already couple times at Ilili Box in the City Kitchen. These guys are awesome, food is very tasty and they’re flexible about dietary restrictions. My son is gluten-free and wheat-free and these guys had a great true gluten-free bread for him. Thanks guys! A great stop for on-the-go eating right off Times Square, 44th n 8 Av. Highly recommended.

This place was great! Stopped by after work to grab a bite. Spicy chicken wasn't too spicy just mild, the sumac garlic whip was amazing!

Google
Terrible. Greasy and expensive. Not much more to say. Thought I'd give it a shot for convenience. Next time I'll just walk to 9th Avenue where there's tons of local, good, and affordable olaces.

Google
One of the better food places at the food court this place is located at. The food was healthful and is just the right portion, and service was speedier compared to the other food stalls. Nothing in this food court is cheap so if you're on a budget, you might need to reconsider. Paid $56 for three wraps, a salad bowl, and three lemonade cups.

Stopped in for a quick bite before going to a matinee. Got the korean falafel combo with brussel sprouts and a green lemonade. Too much food for one sitting. Shared with my friend and we still took some home. It was crazy busy and the wait was long but those poor guys working kept at it. Kuddos

Had the lamb shoulder over rice, seasoned, good amount of grub.

Yelp
I had the 8 hour lamb wrap and I thought it was very ok. It tasted dry and wasn't very satisfying. The moistness if the wrap was from the white sauce that accompanied it. My wife had the chicken wrap, which was much better, had I eaten that for my wrap I would have written a 4 star review. I only took a nibble if her wrap. There is ample seating in this food court and the turn around rate is pretty quick even on a crowded day. The restroom is located in the lower floor, which you can get to through the elevator in the back. If I were to come back to this food court, I'd probably try other vendors before trying this one again.

Yelp
07.08.2019 Little O got a roasted duck sandwich from here. She started to eat it but the flat bread was too much for her. She took it upon herself and ended up opening the wrap and eating the duck and veggies. The small amount I was able to eat was pretty good. I enjoyed the flatbread which was definitely grilled before being stuffed with yummy duck, veggies and sauce. The small amount of duck I did taste was tender and had good flavor. I enjoyed the sauce in the wrap. All the flavors and ingredients went well together. I wouldn't mind coming back to have one myself.

Yelp
Despite all the restaurants located in the heart of Times Square, it's not that easy to decide what to eat if you only have 45 mins. Pizza? Hmmm... Burgers and fries? Maybe next time. Thai or Italian? Well just had it the last few days. At the end, we decided to return to the City Kitchen. The Box seemed interesting. Got the Lebanese salad and pita chips. Pretty simple meal was what I wanted. Salad was fresh and pita chips were great. We sat by the window to get a view of 8th Ave from the second floor seating. Place was half empty and no lines for any of the eatery.

Love this restaurant so much! Amazing food and ambience. Will be returning in the near future.

Yelp
I'm loving the location of this bougie food court. Lots of space (if you consider the hotel lobby too) and ample air conditioning (also look to the lobby). Perfect for a not-that-expensive and not-that-insane pre-theater meal. 8-Hr Lamb Wrap: So delicious! I didn't see a large spit roasting this shawarma, but it still managed to be nice and crispy without that griddle-to-reheat taste. The wrap was soft and chewy yet had some bits of crunch from the quick grilling. Tons of tasty sauces and veggies instead. Roasted Duck Wrap: Wasn't a big fan. Was hoping it would either have the rich duck confit vibe or be crispy like peking duck. It was neither, but tasted more like those roast ducks hanging in windows in Chinatown. Had the unappealing cold fatty taste. Phoenician Fries: Loved the garlic based dipping sauce. The fries by themselves weren't that exciting and a bit soggy at times, but totally doesn't matter thanks to the sauce. Labne: Was hoping the texture would be whipped and/or creamy, but it was more like someone took a tub of Philadelphia Cream Cheese out of the fridge. Also, no interesting spices to flavor it up. Lemonade: Standard.

Yelp
Kimchee wrap: hardly any kimchee, meat was mushy, contents were over salted, tasteless. Thankfully I had split this with a coworker so I was spared from eating the other half. The only reason we ended up at Ilili was because we were in a pinch to see a musical across the street and needed a quick option. Lo and behold, the only station without a line in this food hall was Ilili Box.. probably for good reason. Sad I didn't see the writing on the wall.

Yelp
3/5 because The food isn't really good Seems like they're understaffed and have an extensive menu to keep up with Considering the space I wasn't expecting a full restaurant menu but they have plenty of options to choose from The food arrived pretty quickly though it almost shows in the food how quick it was The place is clean Good sized seating area that is shared with neighboring markets, has space for plenty of people The service is friendly The quality that you get is below average even when factoring the smaller kitchen and staff Wouldn't come back here The falafel crumbled up like dry cornbread, not sure how that happened but the only way to eat it was with a spoon or fork The wrap fell apart and got soggy from the sauce even though somehow the inside stayed dry There isn't enough greens and pickles to offset the flavors dry falafel for a fresher taste Cool idea, cool menu, not great product

Yelp
Stick to the store front restaurant on 28st . Don't waste your time or money on bad service, expensive food where the fries have no taste. Fries seem to be the opposite of the actual restaurant these were precut frozen fries. Asked for salt after we all sat at our table to eat and unanimously stated theres no flavor. Did we order the wrong thing? which they were hesitant to do so they asked me to pay for salad oil, salt or seasoning to add to the fries. We were a group of five who ordered the fries at my recommendation which sadly we all threw away. Garlic whip sauce was only flavor to the fries. The fries had no parsley as described. The lamb wrap was ok, lamb and sauce of wrap were tasty. Green tea was surprisingly refreshing at first the taste is of lime. Update: See image attached as I was direct messaged by an "employee" who stated I was a liar. My intention was to advised yelpers of my experience and their response clearly shows the level of professionalism and customer service. Also My initial order was taken by a middle aged man, I was attended by a female employee when I was asking if there were any other variation of fries as I thought perhaps I made the mistake. Who rolled her eyes at every question without assistance. The other employee was a smaller young male working the grill whom I did not speak with. The older employee who took my order was not there when we went back to ask for help.

Yelp
Stopped in to City Kitchen during the break between HP&TCC parts 1 and 2 and ordered a BLT Pita Wrap. It took a shockingly long time for it to be ready but smelled amazing when it was done. I went over to the seats we had found to eat it and it basically disintegrated as I unwrapped it. The pita was not warm (which is weird since it was just in the heated press?) and was old and cracked. I had to eat it over a napkin so I could pick up the pieces as they fell. It tasted good, but it was a mess to eat. IDK if I would choose this again. The fries looked banging and I wish I had ordered them.

Yelp
After checking in to our hotel, I pulled out my trusty Yelp app, and it lead me to City Kitchen: NYC Food Hall. After checking out all the options, I noticed that ilili Box clearly had the longest line, so it must be good! I loved my duck wrap! Not sure what the yogurty/white sauce was, but it was sure tasty! The duck was tender, plentiful and a little oily. Grab a lot of napkins, because it got really messy! My date and I sipped on mint lemonade, which was a delightfully refreshing. Great place to go for a quick meal on the go!

Yelp
I am so glad I stumbled on to this place. Thank you for the introduction MealPal! Every menu item is absolutely delicious! I especially loved the duck rice bowl. It's essentially a duck gyro with delicious tasing rice and sauce. The flavors are amazing. I've been to ilili for restaurant week and was blown away by the portion and taste and ilili bowl definitely met my expectations. I was glad to be able to try almost everything on their menu through MealPal. Im definitely going to order the Brussels sprout side dish next because the ingredients sound like they would taste awesome together. This location in City Kitchen is just amazing. The hotel has a wonderful green tea smell and there is a lot of seating space.

Yelp
Ordered the greek salad and was very good but the toppings were a little stale. Good customer service.

Yelp
My fiancée and I grabbed a falafel wrap to go right before checking out a play nearby. The service was quick. The wrap was flavorful and filling. It's located in a food court with several other options nearby. Seating was limited and shared with the other vendors in the food court.

Yelp
I LOVED the pork buns!!! They are my new favorite food! The bun was so fluffy and pork had a great hint of sweetness. I am obsessed!

Yelp
Here's what I think of my visit to ilili Box, where I had a Spicy Chicken wrap (aka chicken shawarma). - The shawarma was good, but wasn't the best I've had. - The cold one wasn't a very good one. - Holy moly, that was some pricey meal. Almost $19 for a wrap and a drink in a NYC's food court. - Easy access from where I was staying at Row Hotel. Take out, lay back and bon appétit. Three and half Yelps.

Yelp
The City Kitchen eatery is cute. Many choices, including The Box. We had the chicken BLT and the Silk Road Falafel. The falafel was fabulous. Crispy, full of flavor, including a cashew and sauce. The sauce on the chicken was also very good. Great place to sit by the window and people watch at 44th street.

Yelp
Loved the dinner I got here! It was Saturday night but a little on the late side so eatery wasn't too busy. I had the Korean wrap and green lemonade. The wrap was so delicious, lots of flavor, filling, not too greasy. They had several veggie options on the menu. The green lemonade was refreshing and not too sweet. Price was decent.

Yelp
Anytime I am passing by times square, I can't resist not to pass by this store and grab a box of Brussel sprouts and Phoenician fries and a lemonade juice. As good as the main Ilili restaurant on 5th avenue.
google avatar

Yelp
In a crowded space of med rice bowl places that includes places like Roti this one does not stand out. Portion was decent and food tasted okay. Spicy chicken did not have much spice. Also not much variety as only get a little bit of lebanese salad. They could use to add one free option from among feta, olives and onions for same price as for what get is a bit much. Also add some sauces like a garlic tahini or hot sauce. The homemade hot sauce cost 1 extra. Located within one of the food courts with a few other choices so really nothing to say about space other than when tried to log in to city kitchen WiFi was asked to provide row hotel room number. Most places like this provide free WiFi

Yelp
I liked the sauce in the duck rice bowl, but wish it had veggies too. I did get the Brussels sprouts as well, but they contained walnuts, which I am allergic to! And there was no mention of it on their menu board!! they should specify that for people with allergies! ---------------------- I just checked their website and do see walnuts under the Brussels sprouts there, but it was not on the menu board at this location

Yelp
When I was using MealPal for dinner, this place became my go-to takeout dinner spot. I've never been to ilili (definitely on my list!), but this place serves quality food that I've enjoyed pretty thoroughly throughout many times I've picked up from here. I can't really speak to anything except their rice bowls, but all 3 are good. My personal preference is probably duck, chicken, then lamb. They give you a ton of meat, and the garlic whip is so good on everything. The meat itself is pretty delicious too--I can't remember it ever feeling dry. Definitely don't go too far with these bowls because it's best warm. The combination of flavors honestly make me feel like I could eat some of these bowls forever, especially the chicken. Speaking from personal taste, I'm not sure if the vegetable ingredients work as well as I want for their 8-Hour Lamb Shoulder, but the lamb itself is great. Some of their other stuff also looks pretty good, so maybe I'll try those and update my review sometime down the line, but for now, I see little reason to veer away from the rice bowls. My only complaint is that it's too far from where I work!

Yelp
Awesome place. Delicious food! LOTS of fries the food was absolutely delicious I got a chicken BLT same as my bf. I devoured it very quickly. The service was a little rough because the lady was ignoring us in her phone but she was nice once we got her attention

Yelp
This place was part of the kind of food court connected to our hotel. They were pretty nice at this location. They offer wraps that have some different meats inside. We got a couple of things off of their menu. The 8 hour lamb for the wife and the duck for me. They were wrapped in a crispy something. The something was kind of hard and hard to chew. It just broke up as I chewed it. It was easier just to eat the meat out of it. The dusk was tasty with a good spicy package. Name them all I can't but it was a good combination. The same for the lamb it was over done in my eyes. I'm mean it wasn't bad food but it really didn't wow us.

Yelp
Location: Aimed for City Kitchen, I got surprised that it is where ilili box located. WOW, okay, let's have some Mediterranean food for lunch. The line is long, why, pretty much because the cashier is trying to be nice to every female customers. Alright, while I was waiting, I looked through all those items on the menu. There's a lot of people hanging around here. Some who dressed well seems to be people who work in the neighborhood, others look like visitors who want to eat every single piece before leaving NYC. PS. No seat as always. Food: Okay, wraps seem to be a good choice for lunch. But the fries seem to be also delicious. What should I eat? Okay, falafel korean wrap. Why? Cuz my new resolution for 2016 is to be a vegetarian. Now, falafel seems to be the ideal choice. And it was delicious. I personally, love their korean sauce. Well balanced but not too spicy. Although the wrap is small, which is the ideal size for my appetite, I still cannot believe it is only 7 dollars. Okay, I guess no more cynical reviews. Then let's end with Bon Appetite! 3.5 for food.
google avatar

Pat L.

Yelp
Really solid wraps. The lamb was super tender, and the falafel was really flavorful. Only non positive is despite being good, falafel wasn't very hot, so probably not fresh fried. Wouldn't mind a little more sauce too, but that's really nit picking.
google avatar

Nicole B.

Yelp
I was staying at The Row hotel, accompanying this "upscale" food court with many options, and for breakfast the ilili Box menu caught my eye. For a fair (for NYC) price, I got a hearty and delicious breakfast. Huge mound of fluffy, delicious scrambled eggs (I added chives), zaatar potatoes (my new favorite!!), sausage links (meh and greasy), pita bread and a drink (coffee, juice or bottled water). Guests of the hotel get 10% off. The food was so good, quick, and plentiful that I came back the next morning. Quick, clean and yummy - exactly what I needed to fuel a big day of work.

Yelp
A small group of friends and I stopped by this restaurant for a quick bite to eat before heading to a broadway show. We ordered the falafel wrap, the sliced chicken bowl, and the lamb bowl. Unfortunately something was wrong with the food and two of the people in my group started to immediately feel sick right after lunch. The food was pretty greasy and just okay. Not worth the potential food poisoning.
google avatar

Aysha A.

Yelp
Been to their restaurant in Flatiron and I'm glad to have had a chance to stop here. The phonecian fries with garlic whip is absolutely heavenly! I went with the dick wrap which was good but a tad bit too sweet, will try the Korean falafel next time!
google avatar

Aleksey C.

Yelp
I used to eat lunch here at least 3x a week at the location in Madison sq park. They had this best deal in town. The chicken or the chicken blt in a "box" it was the perfect portion. Nice and large. And it was light on the carbs. In fact they used to have all these options available in the "box" format. Recently I discovered that they have other locations. So I went here and to my disappointment this option is now gone. Not sure why they would remove it, probably the worst decision. I'll prob stop by once a year for those fries, but you definitely lost a customer by removing the best lunch option in midtown
google avatar

Shama F.

Yelp
My order was perfect. I love the restaurant on 5th and I rarely order in but was wanting good Mediterranean food and couldn't go out so I ordered Brussel sprouts, rice and kebab, hummus and fries. Everything was great! Highly recommend.
google avatar

Marissa F.

Yelp
I ordered the "falafel korean" pita wrap which ended up being a great choice. I wasn't sure how the mediterranean-korean fusion would taste but I was pleasantly surprised (I even added hot sauce from the taco place next door which also oddly worked). It was filling, just a little spicy, and the kimchi added a really cool texture. My friend ordered the lamb wrap and also thought it was good.
google avatar

Cynthia S.

Yelp
Sorely disappointed. I heard AMAZING things about the restaurant ilili so naturally when nothing else was appealing at city kitchen, the best option was ilili Box. I love Mediterranean and ilili has been forever bookmarked on yelp for me to try. I was excited to get a little taste! I asked the man behind the cashier what he likes and he said to try the duck rice box. I decided to trust him and got it! It was COLD!! The duck was cold, the rice was all clumpy and not even warm in the slightest. I love scallion but boy oh boy, I don't need 2 whole stalks of it!! There was some sort of spicy mayo on it and it was way too rich. I should've just stuck to the ramen 2 doors down... never again! But I'll still try ilili.

Anonymous R.

Yelp
Was very pleasantly surprised by this place, the Beiruti falafel wrap ($9.50) was delicious. It's not the hockey puck dense falafel, but one that crisps away in your mouth. The wraps are made to order, you get a buzzer but the food is ready very fast. There's lots of freshly chopped mint and thin sliced pickled turnips, very refreshing and delicious. Was barely able to finish the wrap, it's huge and very filling. Table seating is very limited, if you are lucky to get one of the 3 tables, expect to get asked if you are using a seat many times. Plenty of high chair stools but they are not comfortable. It was not crowded at 5:30pm but around 7pm it got packed with people hovering around.

Yelp
The spicy chicken wrap is to die for. I love the sumac garlic whip they use. Been meaning to try the other wraps but because they dont come with the sumac garlic sauce I always keep getting the chicken wrap. I ordered the Phoenician fries once because let's be real, it sounds like it'll be a flavor explosion. Sadly it's not!it taste just like regular salted fries, I was really disappointed. I also couldn't tell if the specks on the fries was seasoning(it didn't taste like any particular seasoning) or it was just from the dirty oil. Anyway, I'll be going back for the wraps.
google avatar

Fred K.

Yelp
I am familiar with Ilili restaurant. I was disappointed with Ilili box. The staff especially the person at the counter was rude. Very unpleasant experience.
google avatar

Rene P.

Yelp
As I've learned from Brooklyn Nine-Nine, which is obviously a 100% accurate depiction of the city, New Yorkers care a lot about "mouth feel" when eating. And the actual grilled wrap component of my lamb shoulder wrap felt damn good in my mouth. The experience of chewing it was a sheer joy. I'm less enthusiastic about the lamb insides where the dominant flavor was salty, and other flavors were hard to discern. Other wraps, such as my date's duck wrap. might not suffer from this problem. The biggest problem plaguing all the wraps, however, is the lack of a plate. The wraps are a drippy mess, and, by the transitive property of drippy messes, my pants got a little messy as well. Prodigious amounts of napkins were required. You can't take me anywhere. Summary: Wrap that rascal.
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
Love Ilili but Ilili box is the bland-er version of a beloved restaurant. I had a wrap that was a bit dry and served cold (vs. the bread being warmed up). Most disappointing, I ordered a side of hummous and labne and both were very flavorless - I was expecting some olive oil, spices, better seasoning on it, but it was a very basic (and pricey) meal. Too bad!
google avatar

Elaine H.

Yelp
I have been to the physical Ilili once with a group of my friends and I would say the Ilili box essentially carried over the most amazing dishes at Ilili. We ordered the roasted duck pita wrap for share - the bread was so crispy that it almost cracked in my mouth! The duck meat was tender and mixed itself perfectly well with the special white sauce! I would love to try their other wraps as well as over rice series.
google avatar

Lauren W.

Yelp
ITS DELICIOUS! This is one of my favorite places to order lunch from to work. They've never messed up my order and the food arrives intact.
google avatar

Joe F.

Yelp
There is dry, there is drier and than there is Ilili Box's falafel wrap. Please try harder, I'd like to come back and refer friends.

Yelp
A great spot for lunch or dinner in midtown. Especially if you're going to the theatre. The duck and chicken shawarma with sumac toum is my go to. The brussel sprouts are excellent as well.
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
After hearing rave-reviews from a knowledgable cousin for the main restaurant I was pleasantly surprised to see this mini-Ilili @ this hotel on 8th ave. steps from my theatre on 45th street. Ordered the hummus & Beruiti falafel wrap. The humus was smooth but a bit flat. I liked the lifit (picketed turnip) on the wrap but the falafel had an crumbly texture--not as crisply fried as most. Novel concept--kind of like a mini/food court in Hotel in lieu of a traditional restaurant (& I mean that in the Classiest sense of the words food court).
google avatar

Isabella W.

Yelp
Came back here because I was craving the duck rice box. Got the combo again. The gal working the front could not be bothered. Though she was so cold she kept her arms in her shirt though she had a sweater tied around her neck. Looks like they've halved their portions and the duck was missing whatever greens were on it last time. The guy cooking the food was friendly but I think overlooked the Brussels sprouts because the gal left and he had to also work the register. Probably won't be back. No more cravings.

Richard C.

Yelp
Service: Cashier doesn't look at you, customers in line looking at each other - wondering if they had ordered already because the cashier isn't acknowledging anyone, he continues to talk to other workers before asking you "Yeah?" Food: Spicy chicken over rice - Overall: very bland. Rice was mushy and over cooked. Chicken bland, not sure where they got the "Spicy" in Spicy chicken. When I asked for some hot sauce they charged $1 extra. Roast duck over rice - Overall: too creamy. In addition to the mushy over-cooked rice, they added too much sauce/base which made it a little too savory. Green lemonade - Made of Lemonade + Cucumber + couple other things. It tastes like pickle juice. I like pickles, I like pickle back shots, but I wasn't in the mood to drink pickle juice with my meal.

Yelp
The food is always fresh, healthy and affordable. The staff at the location on 8th Ave (Times Square) are always super friendly and quick in processing the orders. I'm there at least three to four days a week. I can't get enough of 'ilili Box', and once you try their food, you'll feel the same.

Krystel C.

Yelp
I ordered the chicken rice bowl. The food was good but a bit dry. However the portion was generous. We also got the fries which were really good and unique. I also enjoyed the green lemonade but wouldn't go out of my way to stop just to get it there.
google avatar

Yikern L.

Yelp
I would never have thought that when I came to this place, aside from the other stalls such as Ippudu ramen, Lukes Lobster and sushi, that I had my eye on this place. Don't get me wrong, Ippudu ramen and Lukes Lobster is a class of its own specialty. So I thought of trying out this place, ordered the duck on rice combo which comes with the main duck on rice sided with fries and green lemonade. The duck on rice was everything that I have expected, the umami from the duck fat just adds extra flavour to the rice when eaten together, and I also like how they do not cheat on the green onions as they fill it up till its being flatten by the packaging. The fries was good for the first half of it, since the flavour is so strong it went the other direction when chowing the rest of it. The salty flavour becomes too much and its becomes tough to eat the rest, on top of that it dehydrates you quite abit which you turn to a lemonade drink ( you know how that will go). I was hoping that it would be sugar cane drink, but if it was it would have been perfect. Would give this another go and recommend others!

Yelp
Pretty good wraps in one of my favorite food markets in the city. Can't go wrong with these wraps, even though they are a little bit on the expensive side. At least they're tasty, right?
