I purchased a pair of glasses at the Illesteva boutique in Aventura Mall two days ago. At checkout, the sales associate clearly explained that I could exchange the glasses within 10 days at any Illesteva location, as long as I kept the white tag attached, which I did.
Since Illesteva also has two boutiques in Miami, I later visited the Wynwood location, where I found another pair I liked better, also offered with a 10% discount.
However, when I tried to make the exchange, the store manager told me they could not process it. Instead, I was instructed to return to the Aventura Mall location to receive a gift card and then come back to Wynwood to make the purchase, despite their policy stating that exchanges are accepted at any location within 10 days.
The manager attempted to help by calling the Aventura store, but they were unable to issue a virtual gift card. I was also told that the 10% discount could not be applied if paying with a gift card, which makes no sense..especially for customers who receive gift cards as gifts.
No solution or compensation was offered. I ultimately requested a refund, but since I am traveling, this resulted in approximately $25 in foreign exchange fees, and I ended up with none of the glasses I wanted.
Overall, a very disappointing experience. The company does not seem to respect its own exchange policy and was unable to offer a reasonable accommodation.
