Saw Illy on our wander through the casino. I always like their coffee, so we decided to visit for breakfast the next day. I'm so glad we did! Starbucks at the entrance to the guest room tower (Palazzo) was swamped at 9AM. The Illy, by contrast, was not. While it filled up closer to 9:30, at 9:00 there was only one other couple and NO LINE. Plus seating!
We both ordered the sausage egg and cheese, one on onion bagel, one on croissant. FYI, the two meat ALSO has egg and cheese, even though that is not clear from the menu. Be aware these are BIG breakfast sandwiches, so while they are in the 10-12 dollar range, mine was adequate for me, the Colonel to have some, and take half back to the room #bariatric.
They were pretty good quality, the croissant apparently "dissolved" according to the Colonel, but he didn't say it like it was a bad thing. The onion bagel was stiff and chewy, but not bad. Also, the onion bits were not burnt, the way they sometimes are. The fillings were straightforward commercial style folded egg and sausage patty, not entirely hot *probably zapped) but decent texture. If I had to vote solely on taste, I think SBUX SEC/BEC is better, even the Impossible/vegetarian versions, but these are twice, maybe three times the size. Plus, the coffee is simply better than SBUX burnt swill. We will probably make this our bfast destination during our stay.
