Ilya Suites By The Sea

Beginning of October, my wife and I spent six nights in the Villa of the Ilya Suites by the Sea. We chose the location directly at the Glifa beach so that we could easily swim and snorkel every day. This proved to be a wise choice as the air temperatures were in fact colder than average for the season, but the close distance to the house allowed us to quickly go back to warm up. The Villa is spacious for two and the architecture of the house and its garden is just stunning. Together with the spectacular view over the beach and with the Peristera island in the background, the Villa provides the perfect location for a relaxing holiday. We booked a rich extra breakfast-box and there are several restaurants as well as a supermarket close by in the port of Steni Vala, so we did not much use the kitchen.

I think this was the best spot to stay on Alonissos. Why? The beach: clear clean water (pebbles not sand but we didn’t mind), no waves so children friendly and if we want some quite alone time swim few hundred meters away to a small quite beach that can only be reached by water. The hotel: 4 seafront rooms that were clean, modern and spacious. Wonderful patio and you are 10 steps from the water yet in the privacy of few trees and a small common area that has an outdoor shower, an “office” (a table with an electrical outlet under the trees) and paddle boards and snorkeling masks. Food: you are literary 5 min walk to a seafront miniature port with the best seafood restaurants on the island. The service provided by Dimitri was excellent and made our stay even more pleasant. We had a wonderful week!

We loved everything about the Ilya Suites. Beautiful planting around the rooms, enormous comfortable beds, equally comfortable sun beds and spectacularly clear sea.|Dimitris is very helpful and booked taxis and also a table for us at Thea in Alonissos old town (highly recommended with excellent food). He also let us keep one of the rooms|until the afternoon as we had a late ferry back to Skiathos.|Steni Vala is also very pretty with a few tavernas all serving excellent food. We enjoyed watching the boats coming and going. There was a nice international vibe to the place too, which we loved.|We will be back!

This place is a dream. The most cute beach house on the the beautiful Alonnisos. No crowd, just peace, quiet and most beautiful nature. Words cannot describe how much I love this place. See you next year!

With direct access to the beach, Ilya Suites by the Sea and Botanic Suites (we split our trip and stayed in both) are the perfect holiday accommodation. Clean, modern, well designed with great facilities and a super helpful & friendly team. Dimitri (the owner and manager) is lovely and will do anything to make your stay perfect. We will definitely return - we loved Steni Vala (the local port - small, with great restaurants and cafes) which is literally a 3 minute walk away. Alonissos is definitely up there as one of my favourite Greek Islands. Stunning beaches and beautifully green.

We are very happy that we found this paradise. We had a lovely suite by the sea with a big terrace. The suite was planned into last detail, and we loved it. There was sunbeds, SUP boards and snorkeling gear to use. The hoast was very friendly and helpful. Thanks for making our holiday perfect!

We stayed in the Botanical suites just behind the ones on the beach. They are modern, comfortable and well thought out. You get comfortable sun loungers on the beach, and the owner Dimitrios and his team couldn’t be more helpful and the whole place is run beautifully. Initially we wanted to be in the development that’s on the beach, but there’s a 5day minimum stay and we were there for only 4 days, but we loved the Botanical suites. There was a lovely jacuzzi pool, the bed was incredibly comfortable, two basins, a kitchenette and a good shower. Excellent wifi. The beach is really lovely and you are within a very short walk of Steni Vela where the restaurants are spectacular, especially Tassia’s Kitchen, and a slightly longer walk to Kalamaniki. There is a delightful beach bar further up the beach. We have already booked for next year!
