"Humans have been finding ways to make use of glass for thousands of years, even before we knew how to make it. Glassmaking dates back at least 4,000 years and obsidian, a naturally occurring glass, has been used to make arrowheads and blades since the Stone Age. Over time glass became an artistic medium not unlike marble or ceramics, with applications that range from practical to artistic. At the Imagine Museum in St. Pete, Florida, you can see just how diverse glass art has become today. Opened in 2018, the museum features hundreds of pieces of contemporary glass from around the world displayed in a 34,000-square-foot gallery. Its collection started with some 500 works related to American Studio Glass, a movement that began in the 1960s. It started with artist Harvey Littleton, who was inspired by glassmakers in Italy, Germany, and other parts of Europe. At the time, glass was largely seen as an industrial material used for things like drinking cups and window panes. Littleton, along with a number of other artists, began experimenting with more artistic, sculptural applications. (One of his early students was Dale Chihuly, whose work is displayed at the nearby Morean Arts Center.) The Imagine Museum was founded by Trish Duggan, a philanthropist and artist who has deep ties to the studio glass movement. In the museum galleries you will find displays of glass art from America, Italy, and Japan, as well as exhibitions that focus on specific artists and themes. Highlights of the collection include delicately-draped dresses by Karen LaMonte and a glass-and-mirrors optical illusion by Tim Tate." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

I recently visited the Imagine Museum in St. Pete, and the artwork was absolutely beautiful—truly stunning glass pieces that are a feast for the eyes. However, I would say this particular display might not be the most toddler-friendly, simply because everything is made of glass and there’s a lot that little hands could reach. That said, the museum itself is very clean, well-maintained, and peaceful. The employees were all friendly and helpful, making the experience enjoyable overall. It’s definitely a great place for art lovers, just something to keep in mind if you’re bringing young kids along.

Google
I had a wonderful time exploring the Imagine Museum! The staff were all so friendly and helpful, the audio tour was interesting, and I had fun searching for the hidden marbles. It’s a great place to escape the heat and see some really cool art. One of my favorite exhibits was by Steve Tobin, who at one point detonated blocks of clay with explosives. The pieces are so beautiful, and the story behind how they were created brings them to another level. I don’t know why I waited so long to visit - it’s a must-do!

Google
Perfect date idea, I am pretty sure they have a warehouse that stores either 1/3 or 2/3 of the entire gallery and they constantly rotate the displays so every time I’ve went (6 times) there are always new pieces which makes every visit unique. Highly recommend getting some souvenirs for $6.50, the little mini glass sculptures make great gifts/decorations. Staff is always very friendly, and the place is surprisingly not that busy. Love this place. $10 per person is a STEAL for this amazing museum.

Google
This glass museum completely blew us away! It’s a place to look at beautiful art. My kids, ages 9 and 17, were absolutely captivated from start to finish. It’s rare to find something that entertains and amazes such a wide age range, but this place nailed it! There was so much to see and explore—we honestly didn’t expect it to be so extensive. Every room had something new and exciting, and the attention to detail in the exhibits was incredible. You could tell a lot of thought and creativity went into designing the experience. This was so much more than I expected. If you’re anywhere nearby, it’s 100% worth the visit. Don’t miss it!

Google
Wonderful museum with stunning, fun and thought-provoking glass art! Our 6 year-old loved the scavenger hunt and kids’ art room. Staff was so friendly (especially Ms. Judy) and admission fees are shockingly low. If you’re in the area, Imagine is a must-see.

Google
If you're a glass lover you can't go wrong with this museum. One of the most famous glass blowers of his time. The family and I spent hours just amazed at all the beautiful glassware.

Richard Smith

Google
Absolutely Amazing. Would give it more stars if that were an option. Worth three timed the cost of admission. We got tickets on Groupon... gift shop is amazing as well. The lady who starts your adventure is hilarious. REMEMBER if you break it - you buy it... and some of the pieces are in the $10's of thousands range... MAKE a plan to attend. We are thrilled we did... parking right out in front of museum...

I went for a school paper, and loved what I saw. It was my first experience in an art museum. I took my 13yr old twins and we all loved it. I will visit again with my wife. Friendly staff, kids scavenger hunt, and the art displayed a variety of styles. I would definitely recommend!

Jen C.

Yelp
Welcoming staff who are enthusiastic about the museum and its content. Spectacular new exhibits featuring the work of Louis Markoya, protege of Salvador Dali. The artwork exploring the third dimension is mind blowing. There's also a great exhibit on the second floor featuring female pioneers from Helen Keller to Lucille Ball to Mae Jemison that is a perfect visit for Galentine's Day or Women's History Month. A scavenger hunt is set up on the second floor that the kids will love!

Robin F.

Yelp
Three of us went to their special event, Sunset Market on Fri. nite. They had live music, a vendor market place outside and Food trucks. There was also a glass blowing demonstration. The best part was the museum itself, all matter of glass art. From ancient cultures, early techniques, sculptures, modern Japanese glass and current day innovations. They had a scavenger hunt thru the 2nd floor exhibit rooms. There is a lovely gift shop and a cafe on the first floor along with 9 galleries. The second floor has 12 galleries. There is a small elevator to travel to the floors. There are large clean restrooms on each floor and water fountains. The free parking lot is in the back of the building with an entry door to the museum. If you park at the metered spots on the street you'll have 2 hours of parking. The docents and volunteers were very helpful and friendly. We got our free museum passes from the Pinellas Public Libraries. Each pass is good for 2 adults and 2 children. They have special programs Central Ave where the museum is located has many great restaurants. We are planning to go again soon.

Yelp
I stumbled over Imagine Museum on Groupon. Let me tell you... Imagine Museum is worth the visit. Although, fairly small museum. The museum provides different art pieces that would give an all two hours or more to be captured into the experience. I highly recommend Imagine Museum and don't forget to capture great pictures.

James B.

Yelp
This is a must do museum. It is amazing what artist can do with glass. I do not recall how much it cost to visit but it is worth every penny. There was a docent on site when we were there and she explained several of the pieces of art, and that made it more interesting. If you are a visitor or a local you will enjoy the Imagine Museum. If you are looking for something to do on a hot or rainy day this needs to be on your list.

Nishant N.

Yelp
I highly recommend visiting the beautiful glass museum in St. Petersburg. The ticket prices are reasonable and it's a must-see attraction. During our visit, we were amazed by the unique and stunning glass art on display. The museum offers interactive tours and a fun scavenger hunt for children, making it an enjoyable experience for the whole family. Additionally, there's a lovely gift shop inside where you can purchase beautiful pieces of art. The staff at the museum was exceptional and made our visit even more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend this museum to anyone who appreciates art and wants a memorable experience. You won't be disappointed!

Eric E.

Yelp
We had an unusually cool day during our recent St. Pete trip that forced us to choose something aside from beach time. I'm a fan of glass design because I've seen first-hand how hard it is to create. I've also created blown glass and can't even begin to understand how most of the artists in this museum create the work they've made. Unlike many museums, this one is filled with a great deal of content and a vast variance of displays. I didn't expect half of what I saw here and was really amazed at the different types of glass art on display. There are two floors of exploring to do, the combination of which will keep you busy for at least an hour. There's also a great deal to learn about glass art here, thanks to several instructional displays. Really enjoyed our trip here. Cheers!

Anna K.

Yelp
With my daughter on her birthday, we visited Imagine Museum, in Saint Petersburg, Florida, what a beautiful place that uplifted my artistic spirit, one of the highlights of my daughter's BD celebration!

Meghan R.

Yelp
So cool! I went to the Imagine Museum last week with my parents and we all loved it. There were so many amazing things to look at and admire. The museum has a ton of amazing glass art to look at, in styles I'd never heard of before. My mind was blown. I took so many pictures, and I keep going back and remembering my visit. I confess that as an adult, even with the number of signs that say not to touch, I really wanted to touch a bunch of the work. That said, I would not take children here. The temptation would be too much. They've got a very nice gift shop, with a very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Everyone working at the museum was smiling and nice. The visit was a real pleasure. Tip: I got a discount for our entry on Groupon for our entry tickets.

Grace R.

Yelp
When we entered, they told us to keep our minds open. My mind was BLOWN...blown totally away by the artistry displayed in this museum. I loved everything and marveled at everything, saying to myself 'how did they do this??' On the 2nd floor, have a seat and watch the videos for how some of the artists created their works. It's Absolutely fascinating! I took so many pictures. Because I enjoyed this so much, I think I'll skip the Chihuly Museum this time around....

Robert N.

Yelp
A visually stunning glass art museum in St. Pete is a must see for art lovers. Two floors of art to titallate the senses. A very inexpensive way to spend a couple hours strolling in air conditioned comfort on a hot day. Plenty of free parking out front, a small cafe and gift shop inside. Tours available upon request or stroll at your leisure through the many winding rooms that house the huge variety of glass masterpieces. Two stories of wonderful exhibits with a lot of very nice and informative patrons to guide you and answer questions. A top recommend.

John G.

Yelp
This is just west of the Chihuly Museum and it has a parking lot, which is almost a must on Central Avenue. It's an eclectic collection of rotating exhibits. Big and small, industrial and artistic, the variety and thought put into the exhibits is outstanding. I highly encourage everyone to make this a stop. The gift shop is interesting too.

Jonathan S.

Yelp
If you have any kind of interest at all in glass art, check out the Imagine Museum on Central Avenue in St. Petersburg, Florida. We managed to visit on the very last day of a special discount month for residents of Manatee and Sarasota counties, but even the regular adult admission price of $15 would've been well worth it. I've gone to other museums with far smaller collections and significantly higher ticket prices. We've already visited twice--and we'll definitely return again.

Elise G.

Yelp
Wow -- I was so impressed with this contemporary glass museum. In addition to their amazing collection of glass art there was a special exhibit of glass kimono art and another special exhibit by Martin B... of a huge installation and a video of his process. It is well worth the stop with ample parking and nearby cafés & shops near the Historic Kenwood district. Great gift shop as well. I have many photos that would be representational of the museum, but Yelp is making it difficult access them as it was over a week ago. FIX the function Yelp! I take lots of photos and do all my reviews after my trips.

Nancy P.

Yelp
Loved this museum. We visited on a Thursday after 5 pm when admission is just $5 (after 5 pm) and it was well worth that admission price. There are two floors of really cool glass scluptures. Since sculpture is one if my favorite art mediums I was excited to visit and was not disappointed. The galleries are laid out in smaller rooms and easy to navigate from one to the other. There is a scavenger hunt available to all as you enter the museum. You pick up a sheet of paper with pictures and then you look for various pieces of art throughut the first floor of the gallery pictured on the sheet. Then you get a prize for completing. It was fun but as a heads up the prize is 5% off in the gift store. So don't do it for the prize, do it for the adventure of exploring the museum more fully. Parking is on-site and free. Loved this museum

Hannah M.

Yelp
I can't rave about this museum enough. After developing a fascination for glass art and glass blowing over the past few years, it was amazing to walk through such immersive, large-scale exhibits. The staff informed me that the glass is mostly rotated out of the owner's personal warehouse with the exception of the exhibits that were opening the day after I visited. Those are comprised of brand new pieces by local Floridian artists. There were employees on every floor to explain the historical significance of the art, as well as guide visitors as to how best to take photos with/of the glass. For instance, there was a glass dress that you can "wear" if you stand in just the right spot at the right height! There are two floors with elevator access, and you aren't required to look in any order. They also have bathrooms and a very large gift shop. The parking is free (regardless if you've bought tickets or not, which is nice). It's a place I could visit weekly and never get bored!

Marion H.

Yelp
Sooo the Imagine Museum is a gift that keeps on giving. I have visited this beautiful museum twice. Every time I go, I find something new in the art and in the scavenger hunt. I love love the small art figuring and I bought some at the end. Even my dad (who I forced to come when he came to visit) could not find anything bad to say, he actually enjoyed the visit, which is a hard task. I definitely recommend locals, visitors, whoever, to visit this museum.

Libby T.

Yelp
Get ready to be "blown" away by glassworks from world-renowned artists! The museum is very interactive with 2 scavenger hunts split into two floors. Each artist has his/her own dedicated room with descriptions about their lives and works. They also offer workshops! Thoroughly enjoyed my experience and recommend it to St. Petersburg visitors.

Michael B.

Yelp
So many perspectives on art using glass as a medium! Inspiring art pieces but also I had no idea glass could be handled in so many different ways. Two full floors of exhibits, so allow a bit of time to explore.

Leslie C.

Yelp
On a hot day, a museum is a great idea to cool off and expand your mind. The imagine did not disappoint in either category. Located a bit off the beat path in St Pete, is highly rated and it's no Surprise. Pros: - Two floors of varying types of glass work. The 1st floor is dedicate to US artist while the 2nd floor is international. - Beautiful glass work by a variety of artists displaying a wide array of skills and designs. - Among the beautiful artwork are phrases that serve to inspire and open your kind as you enter different room. - The heads of 1,000 buddhas is impressive and awe inspiring. There's also a bench where You can sit and admire each one. No cons on this one. Great place to visit and it's in St Pete so it's the perfect place to go for a daycation.

Rachel S.

Yelp
It's a glass museum so you know the exhibits will have a lot of interesting visual effects with how light refracts through glass or how the form of the glass creates certain illusions. Glass is such a versatile medium it is hard to believe some of the pieces in the exhibits were made out of glass. There was so much variety (from sculpture or fashion to 2D flat "canvases" of glass art) and something for everyone, so prepare to have your mind blown in some way by something. Took about 1 hr to see all 2 floors. Only $5 after 5pm on Thursdays. Staff were great!

Judi D.

Yelp
Any time you can surround yourself with beautiful, evocative art so close to home why wouldn't you? Pricing is very modest. "Artist" modest. They have lots of fascinating events like stand up comedy nights, the night market, concerts and ever changing exhibits. Not only do I recommend this place, I'll be going back again soon. The night I went it was a special discounted event and very crowded, so check to see how busy they are.

Kathy S.

Yelp
This museum is fabulous!!! We had been to many of the other great museums in St Petersburg, so decided to try this on a chilly day. This was all of our favorites so far!!! 2 floors of fabulous art glass from all over the world. Each room was a WOW!!! We're there over 1.5 hours and I can't wait to go back!!! Truly a must go gem in wonderful st Petersburg!!!( not recommended for young/active children)

Heather B.

Yelp
Wow! Love this museum. Imagine Museum has a special of $5 per person on Sundays through May (2022). They often run promotions and have a military discount. Regular price for adults is $15 and you get $2 off for a military discount. There are 11 rooms open right now. Some beautiful glass art is in every room. It's all amazing! Taking pictures is encouraged. Touching any of the art is a no-no. It's easy to understand why when you see these glass treasures! The staff is very friendly and even mingle with you some in the rooms giving you interesting info about the pieces and the artist. They have some beautiful glass pieces available in the museum gift shop as well. I highly recommend you take a visit to this unique museum in downtown St. Pete!

Hanny L.

Yelp
This was such an awesome place! I was looking for a fairly good price on a museum in St. Pete and found this one on Groupon. The deal was great! So I wasn't this to be too good of a museum. I thought it would be small, but to my surprise, this was a really good museum with a lot of glass art! It's amazing to see the things the artists come up with and enjoyed going through the exhibits. I think my favorite one was the alien exhibit with all the aliens and spaceships. It was a good time and definitely recommend checking this one out!

Kaela M.

Yelp
I HIGHLY recommend this museum. As an artist and avid museum goer, I thoroughly enjoy traveling to see different places and artworks. My husband and I came to St. Petersburg for a weekend trip and we were able to make it here. PROS: Tickets were fairly priced. Staff was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. They were able to answer questions we had about different methods of glass making. There are numerous pieces in the collection that make you go "wow that's really cool", even if you aren't really into art. The museum did a great job with the curation of having "mixed and matched" pieces that fit the interests of the average museum goer. CONS: We don't have kids, but if you do, be careful coming here! The museum lets children in, but I would be so nervous my kid would accidentally knock something over. Just be mindful! Overall, we highly recommend!

Mari H.

Yelp
LOVED this museum! I can't believe it has taken me so long to get to it and I went on a Sunday when it is $5 and 1000% worth it. I thought about going earlier in the day but when I looked online for tickets they were for specific times and I wasn't exactly sure when I'd be ready to go so was just going to go another day but when I went to ReTreat I noticed it was just across the street and took a chance just walking in. Man, I am so glad I did. It did not require specific times and when it was only $5, it couldn't have worked out better. Right from when you walk in you're instantly in awe of all the beautiful artwork you see in their lobby and gift shop area. Walking into the first exhibit (black and white) my mouth dropped and I immediately started taking pictures. The pieces were so beautiful. I think I took just about every piece in the two story museum and it was hard to select pictures to post so Inposted a lot, sorry. The lower level has all American based artists (except for the black and white exhibit) and the 2nd level is for the international artists. They even had some Chihuly pieces which is great because he is just so great. (Be sure to check out his museum too). We really are blessed to have so many museums in the Tampa Bay area. This one is on the top of my lists to return too for new exhibits.

Peavey L.

Yelp
WOW! What a wonderful experience! The staff was amazing! For those that are biking or hiking through the city, they have lockers for the backpacks. Price is extremely palatable. This museum is beautifully curated. I believe there is something here for everyone. The self guided tour is well marked and a scavenger hunt for those looking to maximize the immersive experience. I highly recommend this experience, however I would not recommend this museum of you had children.

Alexi Y.

Yelp
The Imagine Museum was another FREE admission with my NARM membership. So happy I found this collection of unusually creative glass art. When we think of glass art, we think of Dale Chihuly. But, there is so many more dimensions of glass art! This is why I purchase my yearly membership. I get to visit exhibits I would never think of to checkout. Enjoy the photos and videos. I will always remember to come visit this one on my west coast trip.

Bill W.

Yelp
So awesome! This is a must see! The exceptional work that has gone into every piece of art is nothing less than stunning. Take your time, watch the short movie about some of the artists and capture the exquisite detail of these items. You will be amazed that such human potential exists! Do not miss this!

Audrey M.

Yelp
Loved the imagine museum! Felt bigger than Chihuly and was cheaper, at least with the student discount. Honestly, $10 still felt like too much but whatever. Art was amazing. I really enjoyed the little scavenger hunt with the teeny tiny bears! Though we were promised a reward if completed and the reward is 5% off any purchase at the gift shop. Feels dumb to complain about this as an adult as I'm pretty sure the scavenger hunt is for kids, but what is a 5% coupon to a kid? Like give 'em a damn pencil or something idk but 5% is kinda a slap in the face tbh. I'm going on a rant, my apologies. But come on. The average price of things in the gift shop is like $50-$100 so 5% really is nothing. Anyway, great art! Super cool stuff. $10 student discount tickets isn't too too bad. Def check it out.

Sandy K.

Yelp
Exceptional displays of diverse glass artwork and extremely talented individuals in a huge well organized space- 2 floors and several rooms of groupings.

Penny W.

Yelp
This was always a go to place when we had visitors from out of town. There is beautiful glass. On this visit, however, there was an anti abortion exhibit on the second floor that was shocking and inappropriate. Why would a museum put their beliefs on display in a museum that should be helping people be immersed in beauty? My guest was alarmed and asked to leave the museum, which we did. We will not be back. Oh, and to be clear, when we brought the attention to staff, they confirmed our impression of the exhibit.

Stacy P.

Yelp
Beautiful museum. They offer guided tours, a nice store and amazing glass works. A great way to spend a few hours.

L S.

Yelp
This place is incredible. The displays are extraordinary and I never use that word lightly. The glass work was so meaningful - something to capture everyone's imagination and it touches your brain as well as your heart. So inspiring, and in these ugly times I am grateful for these artists who work in such beauty. The location is on Central in St Pete. Many restaurants are very nearby plus a famous bookstore and lots of pubs. I will return and will recommend this visit to everyone I know and love. Incredibly inspiring, and it's a great day when you can say that about anything.

David S.

Yelp
Medium sized museum focused on glass and a cool gift shop. Highly recommended for an hour or two and the admission price.

Reeze A.

Yelp
A must visit place if your in the area. Great for families to checkout and reasonable price.

Craig B.

Yelp
This place is incredible! I had no idea how amazing glass art could be. So detailed with light, colors and effects that are truly outstanding. Wow!

Lita L.

Yelp
First time visiting this glass museum, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We took advantage of the December $5 Sundays too, so that was a bonus. If you play the 'scavenger hunt', they will take your picture by the butterfly mural and email it to you. There are two floors, each room attractively displayed and plenty of different glass artists and styles to see. The gift shop had a nice 20% off featured artist sale going on as well. Any glass lover will enjoy this museum. Be sure to have your phone charged up, because you will be surely taking pictures of your favorite glass pieces. Free parking too on the north side of the building.

Nicole L.

Yelp
I'm telling you guys that we are sleeping on this museum. My husband took me here as a sweet surprise gift because last week we went to the Dali and was VASTLY disappointed. They have amazing specials going throughout the months. For July it's $5 admission ! Firstly, we parked on the street. It was zero dollars and zero cents. Parking was so easy, even on a Friday. There's an additional parking lot in the back I believe. We entered and was immediately greeted by Cole. Cole is an absolute gem. He was kind, helpful, considerate, and knowledgeable. My husband had a water bottle and Cole even offered to put it in their fridge so he didn't have to carry it around and it would be cold CAN WE JUST??! This place is VERY well laid out. It's spacious and not too busy where you're on top of each other. They're objects so you can see 360 degrees around them. They have very very interesting things here! Tons of variety and tons off art that allowed us to say "how'd they do that?" And feel so inspired!! There's also TONMNS of amazing photo ops for ig and sc

Sam S.

Yelp
I was sad that I couldn't get tickets to the Dali, so I decided to check out the Imagine Museum instead and I am so glad I did. There were so many beautiful and impressive pieces in this museum and the staff was extremely friendly, helpful, and informational.

Teresa E.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the museum! The only glass museum I have been to was The Chihuly and this one was much bigger, took a lot longer to go through and is less expensive to get in. I took my 13-year-old and my 17-year-old and they both enjoyed it very much. It looks like there used to be a café downstairs which would've been nice to stop at and I would say is the only thing that needs to be opened. I can't tell if it is permanently closed.

Jesse N.

Yelp
The building leaves a lot to imagine, but don't be fooled! You will be endlessly mesmerized by the range and uniqueness of every piece. Way bigger than I expected, give yourself at least an hour to get through! More time if you like to gauze

Yelping 2300. Rare Bay Area Museum Number 57. The regular price to visit the museum is $15 per adult. It is well worth the money. The membership is $100 a year and two is $150. During the membership drive, the discount is 50%. This museum has items that are eye popping moment. The museum featured wonderful pieces of glass sculptures creation. I have been to Venice and look at the Murano glass, but this museum glad is measured up to the standard and some of the creativity is exceed them. There is one that has infinite window with triangle glass reflection. It is endless. Some has series of wings like the Phoenix. One of the piece has the glass fibers form the sculpture. Like tail of the whale. One ball capture the flower with thousands bee surrounds it. One of the piece painted, shatter, then reassemble. These arts are beautiful. The color is vibrant. The shape like a women. The imagination take you to different dimension. After your visit, you can imagine more. So imagine you will be back for more.

Yelp
Such a fun museum! Went went on a Thursday when they offer $5 admission after 5pm. Everything was made out of glass! It was incredible! It was so hard not to touch anything but we did a very good job not touching and just taking pictures! So many pieces were just absolutely incredible! This is a must!

Yelp
This museum is surely to blow your IMAGINATION out of the water! There's truly some incredible and mind-blowing art to be found here! Two floors full of creativity, color, and wonder. I mean 100%, it seems like there's no way some of this stuff is handmade from glass. It's crazy!! Especially after I watched this Netflix show that's all about glass blowing, I feel like I had even more of an appreciation for just how difficult it is to make these things and how impeccable of an art it is. These people flipping know how to create! I just can't say enough good things about the Imagine Museum. Plus, I think they bring in new pieces every so often, so going there more than once brings with it even more new experiences and wonder. The admission also isn't terrible, and on sundays it's only $5 so keep that in mind!! You do have to book tickets online ahead of time so also be aware of that, but we had no problem securing tickets for a group of 3 about 2 hours prior! Sooooo cool and worth it!!! One of the best museums in St. Pete/ Clearwater area by far!

Yelp
This is one of the very best small museums I have ever been to, and I visit A LOT of museums! The exhibitions are so beautifully presented and the permanent collection is noteworthy. Familiar artists as well as many new additions to my favorites list are all there. Go pay a visit! It is a real bang for your buck!

Yelp
The need for a weekend escape to somewhere I would be surrounded by beauty and inspired by creativity made me finally make the drive to St. Pete and discover the Imagine Museum. Located on Central Avenue, the collection housed here focuses on glass but don't think for a second that these are ordinary works of art. Extraordinary talents have taken glass in different directions that will leave you absolutely amazed at the beauty, intricacy and delicacy of their work. The lobby area alone is well worth a look around to enjoy some stunning chandeliers, incredibly minute pieces and groupings of glass that are just mesmerizing. The back of the building provides lots of free parking so take advantage of that added convenience. I visited on a Sunday so there were not tours scheduled but the helpful staff members circulate through the galleries often to offer interesting information about artists, answer questions and point out plenty of interesting works. Read the posted information and gain an entirely new appreciation and context for these works from artists who are crafting these pieces worldwide. It was mentioned during my visit that St. Petersburg is becoming known as, not just the Gulf Coast, but also the Glass Coast due to the presence of the nearby Chihuly Museum, the downtown area's Duncan McClellan Gallery and the Morean Glass Studio, also downtown, to name a few. Go to admire and marvel at the incredible versatility and extraordinary impact of works incorporating glass. Just be cautious not to touch or collide with these pieces. Some feature glass that has been intentionally broken but you likely don't want to have to pay for any shattered works you have had a hand in creating.

Yelp
I absolutely loved this museum!! Most all of it is glasswork which I thought was incredibly cool but I loved how it featured other mediums too! Staff was super friendly and the gift shop is also very cute. If you haven't tried the scavenger hunt- even as an adult, I recommend it!! :)

Yelp
I love love love this museum! It's a lot bigger than it looks I promise and they have such an amazing collection of glass art, including pieces you'll never guess to be glass. I swear there was a moment where we wondered if the kimonos were made of glass too but after a while we realized OK so they're legit Fabric or sculptures not glass lol. There was a great deal going on for a while where you can get a ticket for less on Thursdays 5-9? Be sure to check it out because it's so worth it!

Yelp
Just $5 every SUNDAY in October! Do it! Oh, my my my. I gasped w/ each step into the 19 glass exhibits-- 9 national ones on the 1st floor & 10 international exhibits on the 2nd floor. There's even a social distancing theater on the 2nd floor; it showcases a "Meet the Artist" series. (I sat thru 3 autobiographies.) Each artist tells his/her story & shows how s/he creates such magnificent pieces. Just wonderful! I could be locked in this gallery forever & still be happy. This is an incredible museum for anyone who appreciates contemporary art-- most especially glass art. It opened w/ 500 pieces on October 1, 2018. It now showcases 1,500+ glass displays from over 9+ countries. Most are breathtaking. I want to return again & again & again..........& AGAIN! (I took pics of my favorites, although I LOVED nearly all of them.) Admission is $15 for adults; $13 for seniors (age 65+); $13 for military (w/ ID); $10 for college students (w/ ID), $10 for kids age 7- 28, FREE for those under age 7, FREE for members, & visitors pay just $5 on Thursdays from 5 - 8 PM. Phone or look online for the OCTOBER SPECIALS! There is parking in front of the museum along w/ additional parking behind the building. Born in Virginia, gallery owner Trish Duggan's goals are to "inspire, uplift, & educate." She dedicates her museum to the Contemporary Studio Glass Movement. The gallery offers no designated area for Florida glassmiths, although the museum does have a handful of Sunshine State gaffers scattered throughout. The lone disappointment I had w/ this wonderful museum is that the woman responsible today for getting visitors started on their self-journey did not appear to know much about the museum or its displays & artists; that was unfortunate. Upon entering the business, you'll be treated to the lobby which holds the work of one artist (Karen Lamonte-- floating kimono series), along w/ a check-in area & a gift shop; the shop offers jewelry, bowls, vases, nightlights, books, kids discovery toy & art kits, along w/ other glass & glass-related items. Prices are standard for this type of gift shop-- definitely not inexpensive, although there are some lower-priced items, especially for children-- see pics. There's also a donation box. Masks, gloves, & hand santitizer are available (free). I will return...SOON. I'll bring along a tent & s'mores if they'll let me. This museum is truly I*N*C*R*E*D*I*B*L*E.
