Really nice, affordable, and it’s in a quiet street right outside of the craziness. I work remote and the WiFi was perfect throughout the building. Staff spoke English and were super cool. Private room is normal size for this area dorms are setup pretty cool with a lot of privacy (capsule style bed).

The staff was very helpful. The rooms and beds were very clean. The showers and toilets worked perfectly. The hostel is conveniently located next to Golden Gai. I had a great time walking there and checking out different bars and meeting people. I would absolutely stay here again.

Friendly staff, large "pods" so there is ample room to sleep, each pod has a light, multiple power points, and a shelf to put belongings on. Facilities are very well kept. Great location close to Shinjukus famous shopping and attractions. 10/10 recommend. Towels cost 100yen

A very warm and friendly hostel with kawaii reception. They provided me knife and chopping board for lemon. And shown me where to get nice second hand products. I m happy with the location will definitely come back again.

If you're looking for an affordable and good-quality place to stay, I highly recommend this hostel.Although it's a hostel, it offers a surprisingly high level of privacy and ample space, so you won't feel cramped.I arrived before the check-in time and the staff kindly allowed me to leave my luggage. Finding the place wasn't difficult, but it's a bit of a walk from Shinjuku Station. If you have heavy luggage, it might be tiring, but there are underground walkways and elevators available, so it's not too inconvenient.I stayed here for 5 nights in a 6-bed female dorm. The room was clean and spacious enough to fit a 28" suitcase, and the beds were quite large. As a larger person, I found them very comfortable and didn't feel cramped at all (I slept on the bottom bunk). The bathrooms were clean and had both showers and bathtubs. Liquid soap, shampoo, conditioner, and hairdryers were provided, so you don't need to pack them. If you don't want to bring your own towel, you can rent one from the hostel. The kitchen is quite small but has a microwave, refrigerator, and sink. There weren't many dishes available, but I think you could ask the staff if you need more. The laundry room has two coin-operated washing machines and two coin-operated dryers. I used them late at night, so I didn't have to wait in line. If you don't have any coins, you can exchange with the staff. The common areas on each floor have plenty of seating for guests. There are also multiple power outlets available if you need to charge your devices. There are Lawson and 7-11 convenience stores nearby, which is very convenient.Cons (personal opinion):- Unfortunately, on one of the nights I stayed, the fire alarm went off several times in the middle of the night. I think there was only one staff member on duty that night. The guests and I tried to find the cause of the alarm but couldn't find anything. When I asked the staff, he didn't know either. It might have been a malfunction of the system. Luckily, there wasn't actually a fire.- If you're sleeping on the bottom bunk, even if the top bunk has curtains, the light still reflects off the wall, which can be disruptive to your sleep.

Nice clean facilities, comfy beds, friendly staff. Location wise about a 10-15 min walk from shinjuku station which can be a pain with ski bags. Lawson really close by for snacks.

The smell of the room was crazy… everyone was making a lot of noise during sleep hours. The space is to sleep is ok, but it’s way too expensive for a shared room and the quality they give you. For me it was how smelly the room was. Do not recommend.

Tried to extend my stay and they said if I did it in the morning it would be cheaper. When I went to extend they had sold my bed to someone else. It’s a holiday here and everything is full if I had known this I would have booked the night before

Yelp
Good hostel in a pretty great location. It's nice and quiet inside and most people respect each other's privacy. The dorms are clean and the beds are somewhat comfy. The bathrooms were always cleaned and the showers are nice and hot. I liked that they provided shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the showers. The only issues was that this is a place to stay for a little while, not many people wanted to hang out or is there a large common area for people to meet up besides the small lobby. The front desk people are super helpful and informative. Definitely would stay back here again though.

Yelp
This place is terrible! After seeing their hostel in person, I was disgusted and no longer wanted to stay there. They refused to refund me my money. This place smelled like stinky socks and mold. The paint was chipping, the outlets were grossly discolored. It looked like a military boot camp with hard beds. Felt like I was in an underground bomb shelter that served canned food for lunch. I was forced to take my bags and go to a different hostel that was 10 times better. Avoid this place at all cost! Don't make the same mistake I made! Ask for a tour of the hostel before paying!

Yelp
The locker is the size of a mailbox. The third floor was super hot in November. The heater was on too high. The top bunk was dusty, I'm allergic to dust and it was not nice. The outside looks modern and the place is only couple years old but the rooms looks ancient. It's walking distant from all the busy happening but Tokyo overall is spread out.

Yelp
Imano is great! We stayed here for a few nights as our first stop in Tokyo. Located in the Shinjuku area there are many awesome places nearby. Close to things such as Robot Restaurant, Harajuku, and Shibuya crossing. There are women's, men's, and shared areas/rooms. Beds are comfortable and clean. Bathrooms also!! Clean and tended to regularly. Never had any issues sharing space with other guests. Lockers for a small rental deposit, but they are small so only valuables fit. Full size towels also for rent, blow dryers and laundry available. Two prong plugs only so adaptor recommended for any foreign plugs. Great stay and friendly mostly English speaking staff!!

Yelp
Great location in Shinjuku - three min walk from the Shinjuku Sanchome subway stop or about twelve minutes from the JR Shinjuku station. Japan really wins the award for best hostels. This isn't your grimy and questionably safe European hostel, this place is not only super clean and modern looking, it's newly renovated and amazing bang for your buck. (rooms start at 3800 yen/night, which is roughly $30 USD). There are seperate floors for females and males and shampoo, conditioner, body wash, as well as hair dryers are provided, which is extremely nice. There are individual lights, outlets and curtains in each of the bunks as well. Downstairs, the main lobby doubles as a cafe/bar as well as the check in counter, which is 24/7. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Good location and friendly staff. Facilities okay, no luggage storage after you check out. Found the rooms very crowded with limited space to open your bag. The bar/cafe isn't anything special.

Yelp
I've been to over 26 countries and stayed at many hostels and I'm happy to say Imano Tokyo Hostel ranks at the Top of my list. The building is modern, the staff is always so nice and inviting from the moment of check in till your last day. The staff is friendly and super helpful and they all seem to really enjoy their job. The rooms are so tidy and each room you need a code to get in which is reassuring when leaving your stuff. The cleaning staff keeps everything so clean and tidy. There is a washer $2 Yen and dryer $1 Yen which are easy to use and you can purchase detergent $1 Yen at the front desk. They have a fun schedule of food parties, happy hour and even free Japanese classes. They have a bar and restaurant where they have happy hour with really good prices food all day and cheap beers. Another benefit is the currency exchange machine in the main lobby. The location is perfect and central to everything you would want to see in Tokyo. Definitely will be staying here again when I come back to Tokyo.
