Lisa worked her magic transforming my faded all over color to take me back to my natural salt and pepper. She was meticulous, being careful to damage my hair in a multi-step process. I was there a while and felt the warmth and friendliness the staff shared with each customer. She also had great recommendations for Italian restaurants and bakeries in the neighborhood! Lisa is an artist, a professional, and a sweetheart. Thank you, Lisa. I will be back!

I’ve been visiting Immagine for 2 years now. It’s a no frills salon with dedicated stylists putting in great work. I called at 11 and was able to be seen at 1! I live around the block and when I’m due for a cut and single process, Lisa comes to my rescue. I always walk out of there feeling beautiful. Lisa is personable, will guide you and if you show her what your vision is, she will execute. For a cut (I have very long thick hair), single process color, blowout and style (hot tools) + tip will cost over $200

I went here today for the first time based on the reviews . Whoever wants an amazing haircut from a professional who actually knows what they are doing should definitely come to this hair salon . Joseph cut my hair and I’ve never had such an amazing haircut . He took the time to listen to me . He works miracles . Thank you so much !!!

I went in with below shoulder length reddish-blonde hair, and dark brown roots with some gray. It was a real mess. Concetta discussed what could be done to improve it. She is an absolute miracle worker, and turned it into a beautiful blonde shade (with highlights and some darker tones) and I can't stress how impressed I was with her work. Giuseppe did a fabulous job as well trimming the ends and creating a slight layered effect in the very front. The price was extremely reasonable! I highly recommend going to this salon, and will definitely go back for future work.

Walked in for a hair appointment walked out not 10 minutes after. There was a bunch of people spewing Pro Trump propaganda and trashing AOC. Made the environment super uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Thought it was just the customers at first until a male and female stylist started participating. Needless to say don't support this business. Edit: After owners response. I don't expect everyone to have the same views as me thats a fools errand. I do however expect a level of class and responsibility to all clientele. To say you accept everyone and than blatantly stand with hate is laughable. Your community deserves to know where they spend their money and who that money goes to. If you don't want to be a business that creates a warm and welcoming environment that's fine. However, I know there are people who want to support businesses that actually stand with their morals. So my post is simply to inform your community what your business stands for and let them know not to support it since you don't align yourself with certain morals. Hope this helps ❤️

I’ve been coming here for years and always get a great cut at a great price. Lisa does a fantastic job and is super friendly and kind, as is the owner and the rest of the staff that I’ve interacted with. Highly recommend!

If you want a simple haircut or root touch up, sure. But if you need color correction or if you have a more complex job, this is not the salon for you. They over promise and under deliver. I went in for a color correction and full set of highlights. The results were appalling. The stylists have no clue what they're doing. This is a photo of the highlights done aka zebra stripes. The solution to this? The stylist, Elizabeth just added dye to cover up the highlights. The end result? Darker hair than I had previously. I could have easily bought a box of hair color and dyed my hair if I wanted this. Went to the owner to find some resolution, he was rude, arrogant and dismissive. Photo of the zebra striped highlights on the right and then the undesired end results on the left. Terrible job, and no compensation for a disgraceful job. I'm embarrassed for them.

Lisa is AMAZING. I am always anxious getting a haircut but she made it feel so easy. She understood what I wanted immediately and gave me a cut that exceeded my expectation. The blowout was so incredible I felt great going out for days afterwards. If youre looking for a hair salon, look no further than Immagine and Lisa. I could never recommend her enough.

I just recently discovered this salon! I have never been happier in 40 years of living in Astoria (perhaps over exaggerating a little bit...lol) but Giuseppe is wonderful at what he does! I couldn't be happier! My hair is tricky because it is very thin and uneven in so many ways due to years of poor hair stylists and trouble maintaining due to a disability. He makes it work somehow with amazing results!!! Everyone there is very welcoming... check them out if you're interested in finding the best place to get your hair done!

I went in to try and support a local business. I thought I was lucky they were able to fit me in but I left with a botched haircut. I asked for 2 inches off and long layers. She cut about 5 inches with no blended layers. I told her I'm getting married in June and now I can barely put my hair up in a clip. Lisa seemed rushed and said she had another appointment in 15 mins. I wished they'd said they were too busy and I would have come back later so they could take the proper time. (But I don't think I will ever go back) I had to go to a whole other salon to try and get this haircut saved. The stylist showed me photos of what it looked in the back and there were gaps in the cut, higher than the rest. And when pulled up, the layers were not even as they should when long blended layers are cut.

I am so relieved I found this salon! I've tried alot of other salons in the neighborhood but was always disappointed with the service, quality of the cut, price and occasional pretentiousness. I had Joe, who gave me the best cut and blow out I've ever had. Hands down the best salon in Astoria!

Oh my god, I went in with the possibility of getting my hair chopped off. I got my hair chopped off. Went from virgin black Asian hair to platinum with lavender accents. I basically have a really cool faux hawk and I feel like a real silver unicorn. I've been toying with this idea for a while because I wanted a more androgynous or nonbinary look to present myself and feel good about myself. And for someone who doesn't feel good about themselves often, I feel fantastic! In particular, Lisa is hands-down amazing sauce. I first spoke with her via Yelp and then I went in the next day. I'm not in a good place financially, and Lisa worked with me to accommodate that. It was a lot of work and took all afternoon, but it was totally worth the money, time, and a burning head. Lisa turned things around when she noticed it wasn't exactly what I wanted due to a mutual misunderstanding. I was impressed by her willingness to do that and talent to do that. My hair is temperamental and does not like color. Lisa got it on the first shot, and I am so happy with it. Highly recommend this salon, and I highly, highly recommend Lisa. She said she loves doing fun things like this, so if you're looking for a really edgy or colorful look, ask for Lisa! She's warm, talented, and patient.

I love Lisa, omg she fixed my botched hair. She played with the horrible uneven cut and created a brand new style. Really caring and heartfelt art work that I would have with me for a few months. I love it.

I went to this salon after a recommendation from my best friend and after reading all of their reviews I had to try them out. Concetta did my color, she listened to what I want, gave her feedback, was so patient and warm. I had virgin hair so I was super nervous and she made sure I was happy. After she finished she took me outside to see the color and when I asked her to darken it a bit more she did it without hesitation. I then got a cut and styled by Joe. He gave me EXACTLY what I was looking for. I left feeling like a movie star. And the price I almost fell over when I was charge $170 for cut, color, wash, and style. CAN'T BEAT IT! I will be back FOR SURE!

Extraordinary Salon!! I am so happy I found this place! After a fiasco 3 years ago I am very afraid to go to new salons. I move to New York 3 years ago and I wanted some highlights , they damaged my hair and I been fixing my hair since then. I used to go to Puerto Rico every 6 months to get my hair done but with this COVID-19 is impossible to do that now. Is been months without cutting my hair and it was time to do it. I spend 2 days reading reviews and looking for a place no so expensive but good. I decided to try this place. I called to make an appointment and a guy accommodated me for get a hair cut the same day I called. When I came in they were ready to start with me , which is great because I am not a fan of Beauty Salons, I know some people love to spend hours in a Salon, well ! not me !. They washed my hair, hot water and nice products. I sat down, a very friendly guy asked me what I wanted. I told him I need a good cut because is been like 7 months . He said perfect. When he did the first cut he show me the length and ask if that was ok. Is nice when they ask you , sometimes they just to whatever they want. They took his time to do a perfect job! wow ! exceptional hands! amazing job !!! I am very happy with his work. It cost only 30 dollars! I was amazed with price! for NYC 30 dollars is great! Definitely I going to come back to do some highlights here and probably this salon is going to be my new hair place! COVID-19 Precautions - Every protocol is been follow in this place. It was my first time here (I don't even live in Queens but the reviews encouraged me to check this place out) and the reviews were 10000000% on point. I received a warm welcome. Feels like a small town salon in the middle of a big city. I wanted to cut my waist long straight Native American hair short......like pixie short.....yeah. I showed them (Conceta & Joseph) the photo, they both chimed in that it was nice but my hair was too beautiful to cut that short. Joseph said he would do whatever I wanted but he was not going to hold back his honest opinion. I listened to them, thinking the pandemic just has me going crazy for change. I told them to do whatever they wanted. They dyed my hair and gave it layers. My hair never felt lighter and healthier. I'm so glad I listened! Oh And thank you for the suggestion to eat at Telly's across the street.......it was FANTASTIC! I'm going to attempt to drag my husband over for a much needed haircut and lunch next week!

This review is a couple weeks overdue ...I had hi lights done by Concetta, she was SOO sweet and super attentive during the entire process, she took the time to ask me a lot of questions because I suck at explaining what I want lol She washed out the bleach in sections to make sure it didn't get too light! The color turned out a gorgeous honey shade, exactly what I was looking for! She's the best! After Joe gave me a perfect cut, he was fast and friendly, my hair is healthy and looks amazing, I have received many compliments I look forward to going back.

The BEST salon i've been to between Manhattan to Long Island! Concetta and Joe are the most accommodating and lovely people, the prices are amazing for the quality of their work. Concetta fixed my botched hair from another salon, she is awesome!

Came here for a root touch-up and was so impressed with the service! Their prices are reasonable, the stylist did a great job at color matching the hair dye, and everyone was friendly and welcoming. I am picky about my hair color and tone, but I have no complaints here at all! 10/10 would recommend!

Joseph's hands are made of MAGIC!!!! I've been doing research for quite a while.. trusting someone to chop off your long locks is difficult and honestly, no matter how many good reviews you read, you still can't be too sure.. My gut was telling me to GO FOR IT and I'm so glad I did. The salon is quaint but clean. (Also covid compliant!) Not only was the process relaxing, it was quick and soooo cost efficient. I didn't feel rushed though, if anything it was the opposite. In less than an hour I was out of the chair looking at my reflection in window shops and touching my beautiful and seemingly new healthy hair! Where can you get a wash, cut, blow out, and styling for under $50? I am so blown away with the service and the skill! I recommend Immagine Hair Salon to anyone looking for a life changing hair cut! Full disclosure, I left feeling not enthused because my hair was still wet, but once my hair dried, the full head highlights I got were PHENOMENAL! They were the expected color, well-blended, and consistent. Also, got an awesome blonde undercut. Thank you, Concetta! Cost: Full head of highlights for $166. Very kind all the way through and excellent customer service! Even trimmed my undercut on the house, which I really appreciated! Thank you! Curly Hair Note: For my curly folks, they don't specialize in curly hair - for example, while waiting for my hair to air dry, they combed through it a bunch which made it poodle-puffy. While they don't do Deva-style hair care, I would HIGHLY recommend Immagine for curly people that want great highlights, color, blowouts like Farrah Fawcett, and undercuts.

Lisa and Elizabeth are fantastic and truly work their magic on you, been here twice and can't wait to go back. So so glad I found this gem of a salon where you are treated with respect and get exactly what you want every time. Have gotten a cut, color, wash n blow. Love this salon, been going here for a while, and everyone is always kind and laid back. It's a very low stress environment which is great. Their prices did go up over the past year but it is still comparatively low, with tax and a generous tip my wash/cut/blow out costs me just under $50. Don't expect to get pampered with massages or champagne, but you will get a fantastic cut, style or color. The hairdressers will be honest and direct with you to tell you what they think would be best for you. I always see the same woman, who even gave me her cell so I can schedule with her directly via text. I always walk out looking great and feeling good. Always with great advice whether about how to style my hair at home, what affordable products I could get from a drug store or online for my hair, or to introduce me to the great coffee to be found across the street. I started to bring my mother here and she loves it too. She colors her hair at home but wanted to get away from chemicals so my hairdresser told here about a natural dye she could try and even told us where to find it locally.

It's hard to differentiate salons and find a quality stylist and I'm so happy I chose this place. I believe he was the owner- Joseph- and he was freken amazing for me. He listened, explained, suggested and did the BEST job. I used to look horrid with short hair in the past and have kept my long hair for years and years having a fear of a bad haircut. I must have some good karma cause this was perfect! Thank you!! And I'll forever come here for all my hair needs.

Joe did a fantastic job trimming and blowing out my hair! He recommended to cut off one inch vs two inches (which I usually do at my previous salon), I am so glad I listened to him! My hair is the perfect length and he managed to get rid of all my dead ends! Staff was very nice and quick, highly recommend coming here. Prices were very good too!

As Seinfeld once famously said, they can take the appointment, they just don't know how to hold it. If they did, I'd get my hair cut. You can't just come in to see Joe, he is always booked so they ask you to make an appointment. So I wait a few extra days to come in the morning on the day of my appointment, only to find out there are 2 people still to be seen before me.

My new favorite hair salon. The prices are reasonable and they cut my hair exactly how I wanted it! That's a first! I showed them a picture of the haircut I wanted and it looks exactly like it. They are very good at what they do and know what looks best. I told Joe I wanted a long multiple layer cut with about three inches off, but he suggested keeping the length since it will look better. My wash, cut, and blow dry was less than $40. I will definitely be back!

Best hair salon experience I've ever had! Joe, who owns the salon with one of his brothers, cut my hair and did an amazing job. He's been in the biz for 30 years and it shows. The salon is a family run business without the glitz and glam of most modern salons -- this place doesn't need that. They are about quality and making sure their customers are happy with the results. And how often do you get your hair cut by the owner with over 30 years of experience? The bonus: prices are extremely affordable! Highly recommend!

If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. I left feeling incredibly good, thrilled even, about my hair. Any hair salon can cut hair, etc., but a place that raises your self-esteem because of the masterful transformation of your look and the kind words of the stylist is exceedingly rare. I called the day before, made an appointment with Joseph. When I came in, he listened to me describe my hair sitch and what I'm looking for. I'm used to talking about my appearance with self-deprecation ("I have a massive forehead... can you do side bangs?" + "My hair is thinning and balding up top" + "My face is round and chubby - what style can hide that?"). He listened attentively, gave his recommendations, and then gently admonished me, "You're beautiful. Your hair is nice. I will show you." Long story short, he gave me layers and cut my hair in a way that played to its strengths. I now have volume and body. That day, he blow dried and flat curled my hair to bring the waves out, but he did say it will look great whether I decide to straighten or curl it. A week later, I can attest to that. Other reasons I'll be returning to this place: Ambience - it's small, yes, but I prefer places that are unpretentious, clean, professional, and intimate. Covid guidelines - masks were worn at all times, and there are sneeze guards / protectors between seats Cost - unbelievably cheap for NY; my cut, blow dry , and style (I got shoulder-length hair) = $45 Thank you, Joseph!

Found this salon here on Yelp and I am SO glad I called and got an appointment. The whole staff was warm and welcoming from the second I walked in. Giulia was my stylist and I cannot recommend her enough - her assessment of my hair and recommendation about how to cut and style it were all spot on. She added so much life and volume to the front of my hair without sacrificing the length and fullness in the back. Then she suggested we do beach waves to style it for a special dinner date and I'm obsessed with the result - it's a different look than I usually go for but ultra flattering, and it's holding up beautifully through the damp weather. Please take my word I've been to fancy barbers in manhattan Italian barbers in Whitestone, Italian barbers in Astoria. No one cuts my hair like Franco of Immagine. He's unbelievable with girls too. His brother joe is also fantastic. Take my word I've been to so many so called experts. Immagine is the best. And Very affordable

Giulia never disappoints ! Always so kind and gives great tips on products to keep your hair healthy. My hair is naturally very dark and I've been trying to get as light as possible which she definitely was able to do over time.

As someone who is not overly focused on my hair it had been a while since I got a cut and was in need of help. Giulia is an excellent stylist who took the time to find out what I was looking for and make suggestions as we spoke about what I wanted. For the first time in many years I can say I absolutely love the cut and it looks great even without daily blow dry/styling. The price of the cut was excellent and I was able to make the appointment fairly last minute which was great. Overall I'm very happy with the experience and glad to have found a place I will definitely return to.

Giulia has been cutting my hair ever since I was a hair model at Fekkai years ago, and I've followed her ever since! Having curly hair means I'm extra sensitive about who cuts it, and Giulia never fails to give an excellent haircut - good enough that I travel all the way from downtown Brooklyn to Astoria.

This was my first time going to a new salon in years so I was pretty nervous- but Giulia was amazing!! I got a balayage, cut, and blowout and it turned out perfectly. She asked a lot of questions to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted, updated me on what she was doing throughout, and even gave me styling tips at the end. She never made me feel bad about how long I had gone without a cut/color or the crazy amount of hair I asked her to comb through. COVID-wise everyone wears masks (and they even offered me a disposable one so mine would not get ruined) and the chairs are all separated by a plastic curtain. I'm glad I took a chance on a new place and will definitely come back for my next cut.

I was told about Immagine Hair Salon by a friend after so many costly disappointments with other well known salons in the area. All I can say is thank god hair grows back. I decided to take a chance and try it out I requested Joseph after hearing and reading about his great work. WELL I WASN'T DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!!!!! what an amazing job he did. This was a Mother's Day gift from my young son so I didn't want him to pay through the nose as I have in the past to only walk out and cry. Not only did Joseph do an amazing job the price was equally amazing. Thank you Joseph for making my Mother's Day a great one. See you again

Wow what an amazing place!! Everyone is so lovely and Joseph is so talented. My haircut is fabulous and I left the salon feeling empowered and fierce! If you have a picture he'll do that but I also appreciated that he gave me his input and expert opinion. When he told me the price I was in shock because it was so cheap. These other places try to charge triple the price at a minimum. I may not always live in queens but I will absolutely go out of my way to get my haircut here and I'm even thinking of taking my mom who lives in philly because it was such a great experience. Would HIGHLY recommend!!

Joseph is amazing. His salon is budget friendly, and he does an amazing job every time. They are clean, he listens to what you tell him and offers advice if you ask for it and he always makes my hair look and feel amazing. It's hard to find a stylist that likes long hair and he really does! During covid everyone wore a mask and he has dividers up between chairs. It's by appointment only so call ahead of time.

I definitely recommend this salon. I got my hair dyed and cut here a few weeks ago and Gulia was my stylist. Before actually doing anything to my hair, she asked me what kind of look I was trying to achieve and you can tell she truly cares about her clients. She gave me layers which added a lot of volume to my hair and a great balayage. She is an amazing stylist and you can trust her with your hair. I love how Gulia communicated with me and did not rush the process. The price was very reasonable as well.

5 star for the staff, super sweet! 2 stars for the girl who did my keratin treatment that lasted 1 day and went back to get it fixed, paid more, and also, lasted a day. Only time it didn't hold.

Fixing my hair wasn't easy. But Giulia managed to fix my hair add on balayage. I'm one happy girl again and I'll be definitely coming back to Giulia. She's sweet, honest and really paid attention when it came to working on my hair and that's what I needed. If you need a good hair stylist I recommend you go to her. She's awesome.

I was desperate to find a good hair salon last minute so I called salons in Astoria and it was hard to find last minute appointment. I called to imagine hair salon , and first they told me they are fully booked back to back appointments all day but I asked if I can wait in between clients. They said yes and when I was waiting they kept apologizing when they are doing me a big favor. Elizabeth was my hair stylist and I'm thrilled and so excited to have this beautiful hair tonight! She took her time to trim my hair and blow dry and curls. I absolutely love it! I've been to many salons but she really took her time to blow dry my hair and style it. I even booked next appointment for my fiancée on Monday. I will be definitely coming back! After moving to Astoria it was very difficult to find a great salon in the area. And I finally did! When I was there few customers came by and gave the salon staffs whole boxes of red wine. I can yelp why their customers are so happy with them! So glad! Thank you imagine and Elizabeth

Excellent place for a haircut! I brought a picture of my last haircut, and Frank knew exactly what to do, despite all the wrong directions I attempted to issue (i can NEVER explain what I want). My hair stylist of almost 10 years moved out of the city so I had to find a new place, and I didn't want to pay $50-$100 for a cut, which seems to be the average in the city. Wash and cut here was only $25 (+$10 for blowout). My hair is short (idk if the price is different for longer hair). I absolutely love my haircut. Nothing I would have wanted done differently. Plan to come back here for sure, not trying any other places!

I just got a haircut here for the first time this week. I had made an appointment with Giulia because of all the positive reviews with her and they were so right because she's honestly the sweetest most attentive stylist I've ever tried. She asks questions to constantly reassure that she's doing exactly what you want and she even gave me a few hair tips here and there and I appreciate it so much, my haircut with long layers and curtain bangs turned out sooo beautiful!! This place is amazing. Joe is amazing. They always do a fantastic job, and they do it efficiently and with a smile. This is a mom-and-pop neighborhood gem, and you get the feel from the moment you walk in and are warmly welcomed (many people are greeted by name - it's that kind of place). I found Joe a few months back and it's been a blessing! He is fast but precise with great technique and always leaves me feeling/looking refreshed. I appreciate that each stylist does their own wash as well, so they are with their customer from start to finish. And the prices....can't be beat! If you're looking for a no-frills spot where you will get great service at an affordable price, it literally can't get better than Immagine.
