Imparatul Romanilor Hotel

The hotel has an excellent location, right in the heart of the old city. The service is good, and the spa is pleasant and very clean. However, the rooms are very outdated, with old furniture and creaky beds that detract from the overall experience. While the historical charm of the building is appealing, the interior could benefit from modernization.

I didn't stay at the hotel, but I dined at their restaurant, and may I say it was a super unpleasant stay. The service was the thing I was most bothered about. The lady was not hearing anything we were saying to her, she seemed so done with everything. We could feel the boredom and that she wanted us gone faster. One of our companions ordered first and when all the other food came and his - not, he felt very nervous and simply walked away because of this. The food was not so good either. I ordered some pasta filled with cheese and it was too salty, even for my taste. My husband ordered a chicken soup and it was very watery and not fullfilling at all. As a dessert, we had pistachio mousse, which was very hard to eat, like it was just out of the refrigerator. The prices do not justify the service nor the food, so I simply do not recommend going there. The location is the only satisfying thing, since it is right in the center of Sibiu, but it does not balance all the other things, unfortunately. There are a lot of other restaurants in the vicinity that may be way better than this one.

The staff is very friendly and helpfull! Hats off to the sweet girl at the reception! The rooms are very old and dusty. Do not expect a 4 star hotel. The reception maybe 4 stars, but the rooms do not go above 2 stars. Everything is old and rusty. The windows are old and cracked. The bathrooms are really old and used. Everything that once was white is slowly and surely turning yellow. The spa doesn’t live up to the expectations either. Frankly, for the price (550 RON/night, roughly 110€) given, we would not return to this hotel. There are far more better options than this. Even airbnbs or 3 star hotels. Please note that we were in a Junior Suite. Later edit: they asked us not to wright a bad review in exchange for two bottles from the minibar! In the breakfast venue, they start closing at 10:40, even though they say they close at 11:00.

Oh, how theoghty have fallen! We've been guests here multiple times in the past, but we didn't stay at the hotel this time, we just dined at their restaurant. The food itself was delicious and the waiters were very nice. However, the overall experience was disappointing. Almost every single plate or bowl that came to our table was chipped. We told the waiters and they just said "we know". The food came out chaotic - some of us had to wait for a long time even though the other people at the table had their food already for quite some time, the soup came after the main dishes and then we got the dessert so everything was on the table at the same time at one point. The furniture, fixtures and bathrooms still look like they're hanging in there, trying to hold on to their past glory, but the place is in need of renovation. And people that actually care about it because nobody seems to give a damn about this place anymore.

I would recommend this staff for every event you can possibly think off...they know how to make you feel welcomed and relaxed. Great food, great athmosphere but the most i liked was the staff..you wont regret it! Thank you , Imparatul Romanilor!

Old rooms and bad smell. Needs renovation. Bad service at the reception. Very good location though.

Old hotel need to be renovated. We could not use the spa. The water seemed very dirty. Only the localization is excelent The fitness very poor almost unusable.

Excellent place in the heart of a beautiful city! Recommended if you like a bit of classic charm. Small swimming pool, sauna, fitness, good rooms with great beds. Easy to open the windows to let a bit of air in. Not noisy especially considering the town centre location. Breakfast buffet in the morning. Prices were (out of season) very reasonable, you can probably call to get better prices than on booking websites.
