Palazzo Versace

"This fashion-inspired hotel on the Gold Coast is "so, so opulent": More than $11.5 million worth of marble was imported from Carrara for the floors, and limited-edition china and cutlery were made for the hotel. Hallways are lined with photos from Gianni and Donatella Versace's collections, and rooms have Versace furnishings and fabrics, floor-to-ceiling windows, and Juliet balconies. The chic Vie Bar and Restaurant offers dining and drinking with views of the Broadwater Estuary and a private marina. "If you like being in a scene, you'll like being here."

Our stay was absolutely exquisite. From the moment we arrived, the staff were nothing short of exceptional, warm, attentive, and always up for a genuine chat. A special shout-out to Guy the concierge, who truly went above and beyond. The food was consistently fresh, beautifully prepared, and the dining experience was first-class in every sense. Our apartment was the epitome of luxury, elegantly appointed with amazing water views. A flawless experience from start to finish. I couldn’t recommend this place more highly.

Absolutely loved our stay. Everything was on point. The rooms are generous and luxuriously appointed. The food served at Il Barocco was superb. Chukshu, our waiter, provided world class service. The pool is inviting and the drinks menu has been carefully thought out and well priced. Access to Main Beach is a short walk away, with nowhere near the crowds of Surfer's Paradise and Broadbeach. The Gold Coast's best kept secret. We will definitely be back.

Luxury stay A very comfortable and luxurious hotel, with an unparalleled lobby design and charming decorations, makes this place filled with an opulent atmosphere. The friendly staff provided us with excellent service from the moment we entered. The facilities in the room were also very elegant, and the extraordinary color combination was truly pleasing to the eye. Moreover, the most important thing is that the Imperial Hotel offers an unparalleled breakfast buffet. The delicious food combined with the beautiful surroundings is simply an absolute delight. Love the pool area. In conclusion, 5/5. We will choose this hotel again for our next trip to Gold Coast.

Five stars are not enough for the Imperial Hotel! This hotel is stunning, full of a classic and luxurious feeling that is so rare to find. The food is incredible – the Skirt Steak is a must-try; I've never had anything like it before and it was phenomenal. Add in the beautiful live piano music and you have the perfect, elegant getaway. We will definitely be back for another luxurious holiday. A truly first-class experience!

This was the most disappointing night we have ever had. We booked our night for a very special occasion weeks ago. We arrived with our guests. We walked in to have pre dinner drinks , every table was full of dirty glasses thru the lounge section. We cleaned a table for the 5 of us. We went to get the drinks list , missing pages. Got another chose drinks ordered and payed . Waited for sometime. Drinks came but no friendly service. After drinks we moved to the restaurant for our booking. Instead of being seated in the main area, we were put on a round table in the other area where the breakfast buffet is served. So disappointed. ☹️ very unpleasant service. Had organised a bottle of Ruinart champagne but to no avail. Meals were not to 5 star standard. The service was so unpleasant. With not wanting our money to spent here, ordered minimum and payed to again with hiccups. We canceled for the next booking we made for the seafood buffet. The mangager never asked why or how was our night. The night was so disappointing for boasting a six star hotel.

Serious hygiene failure — BLOOD STAINS found on Doona. If I could give a zero star I would because they don’t even deserve 1 After two nights at the Imperial Hotel Gold Coast, we discovered a visible blood stain on the doona. The bed had been made with no doona cover, only top and bottom sheets. Management later described this as an “oversight.” BLOOD stains is not an oversight!!! Cleanliness and hygiene are basic expectations of any hotel. For context, other issues in the room included dust, bleach-stained towels, chipped and torn furniture, missing teaspoons for the provided tea/coffee, and a TV remote without batteries, disappointing for a hotel marketed as 5-star, but those could reasonably be called oversights. Blood on bedding cannot. We were also advised that doonas are not routinely changed between guests, with only sheets replaced. A blood-stained, uncovered doona is a serious hygiene and health issue, not a minor housekeeping error. We only requested a refund for the two nights we slept in the contaminated bed. A room change was offered after the exposure had already occurred, along with a small food voucher, which did not reflect the seriousness of the situation. We were later advised that no refund or further compensation would be provided, and that the matter was considered closed by management. This response showed a complete lack of accountability for an unacceptable hygiene failure. For a property positioning itself as luxury, this experience was shocking and deeply disappointing. I would not recommend staying here.

The front-door team were outstanding—genuinely warm, attentive, and the clear highlight of the stay. Unfortunately, the hotel is showing its age and is in real need of renovation. Some areas feel quite tired. The lobby bar was very slow: it took around 20 minutes to get a drink on a quiet night with fewer than ten guests present. Overall, the exceptional door staff made the visit worthwhile, and with future refurbishments, this property has good potential. I’d return once updates are made.

Beautiful clean hotel. Great selection of buffet $40/person. Big swimming pools. I couldn't see outdoor spa though. Loved the entrance. Loved how the toilet and shower was separate in our room. Waterpressure was good. Loved the wooden corridor with carpeted floor throughout the hotel. Bed was okish. It was quite uses. Had 2 pillow option. Basement carpark was provided. We did hear walking noise on the ceiling, guess other levels has wooden flooring.
