The grandiose "imperial" mouthful of this hotel name ensured even this humble plebeian from Melbourne, Australia (yup the one with kangaroos) felt royally welcome once stepping through the entry foyer! Enjoyed my 2 night mid Dec 2025 stay as part of a popular bourgeoisie Tour group - we were allocated the ground floor rooms past reception. Once upon a time, this was a former site of a military equestrian riding school in the 19th century that became a cinema & then converted into a hotel with links to its cavalry past (you will find horse statues & related themed names throughout the complex). Centrally located - Belvedere Palace & gardens is a 15 mins walk, with the train & tram connections very close by. While there is a really good bar & restaurant in house, hotel is also close to other take out/dine in restaurants, eateries & retail outlets. Rooms are spacious but depending on what you booked for - bath & toilet can be a tight fit! Beds & pillows comfortable & heating easy to adjust. Included buffet breakfast was superb in quality & variety. As we moved on to other cities & accom, the general consensus amongst us in the tour group was that this hotel's comfort, buffet breakfast, service & location was the best. My only gripe? Not enough teabags in the room for 2 days..Had to get some more from obliging bar staff in the evening. There much more to culture capital & historic Wien beyond my 2 day stay - that most definitely will have to return. Hope to stay here again.✨️✨️

Hotel has a few kinks to work out. First I felt a little deceived by the name as there are no horses or seeming partnership with a riding school. This beautiful piece of architecture is no way related to the hotel but a Russian Orthodox Church across the train station. Good: Rooms clean and metro is close and a bolt to the city center is close and easy on the pocket book. Hotel was quiet and restful. Less than good: hotel pool is not functional and lacks lounge chairs etc. Gym is in a sorry state for equipment. It’s also unclear the function of the sauna /spa area. They would be wise to move the water cooler into the actual area, perhaps setup a tea station, build a jacuzzi and get the steam room up and running. Also many Staff although not all were less than friendly. No attempt to recognize status / upgrade provide info on the hotel etc. Also the room had no little card or gift. Although these items are never a guarantee or right it’s a touch I’ve can’t remember never not received by a boutique / high end Marriot property in Europe. Even as a guest without Status the check in felt curt no explanations of the hotel grounds, direction to the elevator/amenities were explain and the agent seemed burdened by our request/questions. No hello or hi when you enter or friendly greeting etc. Overall the experience was fine and worth it if you can find a good deal or use points etc.

As a Royal guest you will enter the Imperial Riding School stepping into the beautiful and bombastic entrance of this amazing hotel. The spacious first impression will open all your senses and give you a new kind of welcome. The rooms are really good and have everything you need, as weel as the bathroom, that is big enough for pleasant comfort. The restaurant has a very nice menu and especially the schnitzel is a dish you have to try.

A true first class experience. We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip. The rooms, lobby, restaurants and amenities were all fantastic. One amenity that I loved was when you got out of bed soft lighting came on so you could find your way around the room in the dark. Truly a great place to stay.

This is a nicely designed Autograph hotel just outside tourist area. Great design, lighting, room layouts. Many spaces in the lobby to hangout. Good restaurant with modern food. Excellent Cesar salad! Good bar! Nice staff!

I was a solo traveller here in December 2025. This is an absolutely wonderful hotel! It was so very refreshing to walk into a cosy, clean, very well presented room. The restaurant buffet, dinners and staff are terrific. This is definitely the place to stay in Vienna.

At check-in, the front desk staff appeared busy and provided no basic orientation regarding the facilities or elevator locations. While the lobby itself is beautiful and clearly updated, the overall service did not match the appearance. The breakfast experience was far below what is expected from a Marriott-affiliated hotel. It was early Christmas morning and staff did not appear busy. However, service was minimal and unengaged. Servers didn’t came to the table at all, so I had to walk up to staff with the menu just to order some eggs. The overall attitude felt indifferent and unprofessional. The most serious concern, however, was food safety. A dead fruit fly was found in cantaloupe taken directly from the buffet. When this was reported, the staff member took no meaningful action. The fruit was not removed, no apology or explanation was offered, and there was no indication the issue was escalated to the kitchen or management. The same cantaloupe continued to be served to other guests during our time in the restaurant. While finding a fruit fly can be an unfortunate incident, the complete lack of response and disregard for basic food safety standards is unacceptable. We finished our meal quickly and left. This was a hotel we had high expectations for in Vienna, and it was disappointing to encounter an issue we have never experienced at any other hotel. This incident has been formally reported to Marriott corporate, and a case has been opened, as it was deemed unacceptable.

Very convenient location, right behind the railway station, 15-20 min from the airport. Spacious, clean rooms with all required amenities. Although there were no hygienic shower in the bathroom. Exquisite breakfast with fresh and local produce. Helpful staff. One could ask for custom options during breakfast. We had a very positive experience.

Very nice hotel. Enjoyed the ambiance and the staff was friendly and welcoming. The cocktail bar was enjoyable and well staffed.

A very cool hotel - def unique, very pretty, and easy walk to the sights. My room wasn't ready at check in, but they were kind about it and I was using my points so, I can't complain too much! Really my only complaint was they had down pillows - but otherwise cool! Notably, the restaurant in the hotel is awesome, 10/10, food was great, coffee was great, service was great.

Visiting Vienna Austria was one of the things on my bucket list. So since we had the chance to travel to Israel, we decided to stop by for a couple of days. I chose the Imperial Riding School in Vienna Austria since it was just walking distance to a train station, a nice walk to the main downtown areas where you find all the happenings but most of all the rooms were newly upgraded. From the airport we took a train, transferred once, then that train took us to the station closest to the hotel. A quick 10minute walk and we were there. The check in was a breeze. The front desk personnel were so polite, courteous and accommodating. We got 2 Superior rooms one with 2 beds and one room with a king bed. But they gave us 2 rooms with 1 king size beds so they decided to add a rollaway bed in the other room since there were 3 of them. That was quite a disappointment since we paid extra to get those superior rooms. The amenities were exceptional, we were even greeted with a welcome dessert platter. So that was nice. But the shower stalls exactly the same as Israel where one side is only covered. At least this one its bigger. Lol. I only had one problem with the rooms.. the overall temperature. I was glad we went there when it was Fall because I can't imagine the summers. But there's no way for us to lower the temp to make it cooler. They said the lowest it'd go is 21 degrees. Yikes. That wasn't too good for a snow queen like me. I reached out to the GM at first since I had trouble taking the temp in..but since there really wasn't anything @he can do about it plus the wrong room they gave us, they offered us free access to the Imperial lounge where we can have breakfast, snacks and light dinner. We only used it for breakfast coz we were gone most of the day touring Vienna. That was exceptionally nice of him. If you need a hotel in Vienna, I highly recommend the Imperial Riding School.

The absolute worst hotel in Vienna. Not only was the bathroom filled with spots of black mold, but the room was a furnace that could not be cooled down. Apparently, none of the windows can be opened, so you have to rely on the front desk to cool your room!!! What on earth would they do this for??? Your guests should be allowed to regulate the temperature in their own room, and not have to rely on the front desk. It took at least four trips to the front desk to tell them our room was well over 80F. Not at all comfortable, so much so that we ended up having to check out and go to another hotel because it was impossible to sleep. With all of the wonderful hotels Vienna has to offer, this hotel is not worth your money. IBIS Mariahilferstrasse or Haupbahnhof are way better at a much better price. And, they allow you to have control of the heating and cooling in your room! UGH...NEVER AGAIN.

We stayed here during a quick visit to Vienna. My friend is a Marriott rewards member and we were able to redeem points to stay for free. That always sweetens the deal :-) We had requested an early check-in after our red-eye flight. Our room was already ready for us at 7:30am. This was a wonderful surprise, so we could take a nap before exploring for the day. The staff was wonderful! They got us checked in quickly, and since they don't have a members floor so we got to choose a members prize from a bowl. We each got a free drink voucher for a beverage from the hotel bar. (We cashed that in later in the evening, and the fruity beverage we got was delicious and refreshing!) Our room was nice. We had a very short stay, but there were 2 separate beds which was nice. The hotel is is lovely inside, very grand. There is a small indoor pool and an exercise area. All of the amenities you'd need. Reliable WiFi, comfortable beds, quiet rooms, friendly staff. Breakfast and snacks and drinks later in the evening are available for those with status (and maybe for a cost?) across the drive in a newer looking building, which also houses conference rooms and more space. Breakfast remains being served until around 11am, I believe. The hotel is located very near the Rennweg train station. Very simple to get to and easy enough to get to anywhere else in the city. It is across the train tracks from the Belvedere palace and grounds. On the day we checked out, we had until 2pm before we needed to head to the Hauptbahnhof, and we were able to store our luggage at the hotel for several hours while we explored the palace and area around the hotel. The staff really was wonderful. I would absolutely recommend it for anyone looking for a place to stay while in Vienna! I wish we could have stayed longer!

The hotel rooms were very clean. They offered executive level service with free coffee; this is excellent because (if you stay in the building across from the lobby) you will get no sleep. The constant arrival of guests their luggage and honking horns will be sure to keep you awake well past 2 a.m. If that doesnt do it, the smoking section is located right next to the front door where you can enjoy cigarette smoke and abnormally loud conversations from Drinking guest well into the wee hours of the morning. Then, the arrivals start again at 6am. Enjoy your stay.

There is nothing special about the hotel outside of the fact it was a former riding school and that it is next to the train station. Decor is old and faded, new TVs are needed. Bed was OK, but it great. One major issue, there a is slight ridge as you walk into the bathroom. Both my wife and stubbed our toes on it. One of the dumbest things I've ever seen in a hotel. After I wrote this, my wife hit the ridge very hard and broke her toe.

This hotel has may have a lower price because it is outside of the Ringstrassa but at the end of your stay, it's no bargain. There is a hefty charge (outrageous compared to other hotels) for in-room internet and the breakfast is wildly expensive. There was free coffee in the lobby but it was empty by 7 am. Additionally, I found the furniture in the lobby rather shabby and our room wasn't cleaned until almost 4 pm. On a positive note, I found the front desk staff very helpful. We stayed there because we were traveling with friends who a devoted Marriott fans. I'm not and would choose a different hotel on my next visit to Vienna

Nice, safe, clean hotel in Vienna. It was about a 15-20 minute walk to all of the museums. There is a subway station nearby that takes you directly to the train station. We didn't use the buses, but saw a lot of stops outside the hotel. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

A great deal, this ended up being the least expensive hotel on our 3 week trip. Its not located in the center center of Vienna but is one block away from a major intersection for the trams and a s-bahn stop and half a block away from another tram that's good for getting to the redline quickly. So all in all its a really nice location in a real neighborhood. Being in a real neighbor hood there was a laundry by the kilogram service place one tram stop down as well as non touristy breakfast options near by. The hotel itself is really nice, the old part of it is really only about 1/5 of the entire property while the majority looks like it was built in the late 80's early 90's, however the rooms are nice and well kept. Our appeared due for a remodel as they had redone the bathroom but not the rest of the room, however it was still clean and in good shape, just getting a bit dated looking. The staff were amazingly helpful and knowledgeable. Protip: the base map that's branded with the hotel they give you sucks and sucks hard. however if you ask they have a better 10X better map that's not affiliated with the hotel. I would recommend to anyone going to Vienna and looking for a nice place that's also easy on the budget to stay here.

I stayed at this hotel last June. I had done some research prior to booking it. The photos on the website made it look like some kind of magical hotel in a secluded area that was a dream come true to stay at. My travel partner and I agreed that although it was somewhat pricey, we had to stay at least one night here. Well, I am so glad it was only one night. The lobby was pretty nice, and the employees were nice as well, so that was a good start. But, as we soon found out, this is pretty much a business hotel. Not the fantasy retreat we thought we were going to. We knew once we got in the elevator that it was not all it appeared to be on their website. Our room was nothing special, nothing to write home about. We were very disappointed. The only plus was that is was clean. End of story. It was also very frustrating that it was only free WiFi in the lobby. Needed to take the metro to get to city center, which is fine. Good thing that Vienna is one of the most amazing places I've ever been to and that staying here really made us want to get out and explore even more just to get out of the place.

Truly one of the nicer hotels I have ever stayed in. I was upgraded to an Imperial Club room so I can't speak for the other rooms, but my room was wonderfully appointed. Had a stunning view of the Russian Church from my window. A nice 15-minute walk to the city center. Nothing to complain about here.

We have stayed at this hotel for both business and personal reasons and have continually been impressed with the level of Customer Service. This last stay was for business; I had hurt my foot so had to come back to the hotel every afternoon to put ice on it. The catering and dining room staff went out of their way to make sure I always had ice; even running across to the main part of the hotel to get it for me. They couldn't have been more pleasant or professional for our entire stay. Rooms were kept spotless and front desk and dining room staff were top notch. We'll definitely be staying here again!

Hotel was very nice and good surprise in the middle of a more urban area. Was upgraded to the club level across the way from the main building and had a spacious room. This area also included the executive lounge with breakfast, beverages, and food at different times during the day. The lounge was open almost all day and night so you could go in and get a coffee other bottles beverage. Breakfast was really good in the lounge with a good selection of options to eat. The hotel was a few minute walk from a train station that we use constantly to travel to other parts of the city, about $3/person for a day pass. This also included travel to the main train station, Wien Hbf. The underground rail and trains were not overly complicated to figure out, especially if you travel to the city center a lot, like we did. There were not a lot of non-fast food eating options near the hotel. Main room service stops service at 11:00, but so does most of the city, evidently. There is a small after-hours menu to still find something to eat.

First trip to Vienna and booked this hotel thru Delta vacations. I'm a platinum member with Marriott so I chose this hotel for the price and amenities. Very pleased with checking in. I arrived a few hours before the check-in time and was given a room key with no fuss. I haven't had much interaction with the staff other than to say hello or good evening, but all seem to have a friendly smile. With my membership, I have access to the club room. This is located in the building just across the street. It's not really a street like I would call back in the States. It may be an inconvenience to some to have to go outside to get to the club room for cocktails or breakfast, but honestly, it's only a few steps away. The hotel is not centrally located to major tourist areas but is close to the S7 train stop. Literally next to the hotel. It cost €3.90 from the airport to the hotel and was very simple to make the transfer with one BIG piece of luggage (I stowed it under the table at my seat). I debated on purchasing transport tickets but went with the Big Bus tour bus. I think it was €32 for 2 days with an extra 3rd day free and includes the night tour. I mention this because the nearest connection is at the Belvedere Palace/Museum. The walk takes me about 15 minutes to get to the stop. This bus tour stop is the Blue line. Once on the bus, just hop off at city center to see the sites in town (walking to the city center is a good 20 minute walk - did this on my first day here). Once in the city center, jump on the red line (or Blue) and all the stops are at or near the major attractions. For me, being alone and not fluent in Deutsch, this was by far the easiest means of transport. The room at the hotel is typical. I had a king size bed, non-smoking room. I'm accustomed to the States Marriott providing 2 bottled waters a day. Not here, nor is there a coffee maker or tea pot in the room. I've read that if you request it, it would be provided. But I've not had a need for coffee/tea since I've used the club room. Also, my other Western Europe travels have had power converters in the room (Italy to Ireland), but I did not see any in this room. Glad I brought my own, but with an "upscale" hotel, I would think it would have provided one in the room. Perhaps it's like the coffee maker, provided upon request. Dunno. I've done most of my dining in town. I don't believe there are very many choices close to the hotel. Of course the hotel has its own restaurant, but if you want options, another lodging location may be a better option unless you don't mind the walk. So, if your looking for a very decent room, not so bad location and affordable price, this may be a place for your next Vienna stay.

I would have rated this place a 5 but there were a couple things that detracted. The location is close to the train station, which is very convenient. The hotel is divided into two, with the Elite access lounge and newer rooms in the building across the lobby. I was not as fortunate to have been given a newer room, but my friend was and the room was very nice. My room was older, not as modern room and lacked a coffee machine and a clock of any kind. The clock was important in my case b/c I had my phone stolen in Vienna. I had no way of knowing or telling time. I had to find a TV channel that had the time displayed or call the front desk. It was an annoyance that almost cost me to miss my return flight home. I requested a wake up call and the call never happened. No one could explain the mishap and they seemed less than interested in helping the situation. I made it home, but no apology or compensation offered.

Great hotel with a convenient location to central Vienna. The best part though is the helpful Ned friendly staff, especially the front desk and Susanne in particular! We will definitely stay here again.

The Imperial Riding School hotel was one of the nicer hotels the husband and I stayed at while in central Europe. The rooms were spacious, the beds were comfortable (although they put us in two twins... not so romantic for a honeymoon), the bathroom was clean, large, and came with nice toiletries (Tokyo Milk or something). The best part of this hotel was the buffet breakfast. This was a good breakfast buffet. They had great pastries, including a croissant filled with nutella... oh ya. They also have a cook making eggs and omelets fresh for each person. They have a wide variety of breads, cheeses, meats... pretty much anything you could want, they have. The only downside to this hotel is the location. It's located in the 3rd district, which is fine, but it is a bit of a walk to the first district or any of the other districts. Luckily, we got metro passes and the 0 and 71 both run close to this hotel, making the location infinitely better. I would recommend this hotel for your next stay in Wien.

Amazing hotel. Little hard to get to but totally worth it. As a Marriott Rewards Member, I got to do the "lucky dip".

This hotel is definitely the best during our 5-nights trip and we stayed for one night for two times. The club lounge is well-designed and service is very good as well. Open early and close late, you always can find plenty of food or beverage most of time you needed. The location is also very good, you can easily take tram, bus and train to most of places in Vienna.

Worse Renaissance ever. No WiFi in rooms. Only one working printer in business center for printing boarding pass and NOT even free. We asked the front desk to make a restaurant reservation for us and they told us it was booked for the next week but when we stopped by we got a reservation for 8:00.

Just ok, had everything we needed... just didn't go over and above or wow my expectations. However, well priced, a little far from downtown Vienna, but nothing the metro can't take care of. So so food options nearby.
