Finding ourselves hungry and tired on the late side of a hot August Sunday, we were relieved to find this charming, intimate, vintage-chic little gem. We didn't know what to expect, but it turns out we made the right decision.
My companion had said that "In Good Company" was highly rated as a vegan-friendly spot. Our server, who was super friendly and sweet, and also really good at her job, was a little surprised to hear that; but was happy to veganize a dish on the menu for us. Yay!
I had a roasted beet risotto with walnuts and herbs which was entirely fresh, wholesome, and flavorful, even though it was not served as intended (because it was made vegan). As the lighting was low (and gorgeous by the way) my photo of it falls short of conveying how nice it looked.
We had an olive medley appetizer, served warm, which was very very good. We hesitated at first at the thought of warm olives, but it turned out to be a really nice complement to our meals.
The décor is comforting and kind of homespun in feel, with various eclectic touches.
If you're in town, maybe try this place. I can't guarantee that there will be a veganizable (okay that's not actually a word, but clearly should be heh) option or a vegan option on the menu, but the staff truly seems to want to make their customers happy!
We will definitely return when we find ourselves in the area again.
