The Californian smash hamburger chain is excellent. The burger is very tasty, served in a crunchy bun with vegetables and hot peppers on the side. The fries, served with cheese and onions, unlike the great burger, were mushy and not a big hit for me. On Sunday afternoon, there was a huge line of vehicles for the drive-thru and the interior of the restaurant was also packed with diners. However, the service was fast and the staff was very helpful. In addition, the bathrooms were maintained and clean. Highly recommend.

Google
Good burger place for sure, but it seems over-hyped. I would say a top tier fast-food burger and fries. I prefer five guys and Sonic’s smash burgers over this. However, service was amazing and with all of the folks in there, they kept cranking things out like some AI machines. Would recommend for sure, but pump the brakes on this being the best burger joint.

Google
packed. small place. waited for about 30 minutes to get my food. it was very much worth it though. the food is not greasy at all and it was very good. the workers are all so nice and helped me with my dairy free meal. fresh food and you add your own salt on the fries.

Google
Excellent!! My first time here in San Diego and I was told I had to try this place since is iconic and I loved it. Place was so packed I thought it was going to take forever but we got in and in less than 20min we were eating. Food came out great, and fries and milkshake were awesome. Great prices too! I give all the credit to the workers, they were the true definition of real customer service. Everyone very nice and polite and rushing and getting everything done at the same time. Loved the vibes of this place I hope to be back very soon. 10000/10 one of my favorites now.

Google
Solid 4.8 . . . if you’ve been to ANY In-N-Out Burger, you know the lines will be long, both inside and the crazy long drive-through. I always walk in. Did you know you can order a ‘Flying Dutchman’? It doesn’t appear on the menu, but it’s a bunless double double with onion and is so good. Get three, super protein meal. Tonight I skipped the chocolate shake, but they’re always good. No fries for this guy.

Google
Had always heard of the fame behind In-N-Out coming from the east coast, so decided to give it a try for the first time, and it mostly lived up to expectations. Arrived around 10pm and the place was packed both inside and in the drive through, however the service was spectacular— definitely some of the most considerate fast food staff I’ve encountered. My order was taken quickly, and it took about 35 minutes for my food to be ready. I didn’t mind the wait due to the sheer number of customers, and the employees were clearly working nonstop to churn out orders. However, if you are looking for legitimate “fast” food, then this is probably not the place. I ordered two double burgers, one cheeseburger, and two fries. The quality of the hamburgers was very good, especially for the price. It’s hard to find any hamburger less than $8 nowadays, so the burgers definitely delivered for how inexpensive they were. I was a bit disappointed in the fries. I was watching them cutting the potatoes fresh, so I got my expectations up. However, the fries tasted similar to any frozen French fries you would buy in a grocery store and heat up at home (sort of a hollow taste/texture). All in all, the place is definitely worth a stop for its service and the food quality for its price point, but I would not put it in my top tier of burgers.

Google
I think if you grow up eating In-N-Out, if might hold a special place among fast food chains, but eating for the first time as a visitor I thought it was just ok. The staff were very friendly, though the food took twenty minutes or more to be prepared. The food itself seemed fresh enough, and I could see it being delicious after a long/late night. For me, it was fine.

Omar

Google
Stopped by the In-N-Out on Sports Arena Blvd during my trip to San Diego. The food was as expected—fresh and tasty—but the wait was unusually long. It took over 25 minutes to get my order, which is quite a stretch for a fast-food place. The staff was friendly, but the slow service was a letdown. If you’re not in a rush, it’s a decent spot, but be prepared for a wait.

Yelp
Stopped by before heading to the Sports Arena. The line was long at the drive thru but it moved quickly. Service was quick and the food was fresh! The inside looked clean and I had regretted not dining in lol. This location and area is a hot mess though... People make their own lanes and rules so be super careful when visiting. I'll be back for sure when attending an event.

Yelp
In N Out is always a win. Doesn't matter what location, you're guaranteed excellent service and amazing food. My favorite burger ever!

Yelp
Freshest fries and burgers at a reasonable price. Fast courteous service at the counter or drive thru. Clean, comfortable and safe environment.

Yelp
These were some spectacular burgers, amazing fries, and some killer milkshakes. If only they were more consistent. Hit it up in the early morning for that burger deliciousness. If you didn't know, they typically open at 10am, even though the posted hours say 10:30am. Yessirrrrrr! This is my second visit in the recent weeks, as they previously completely bundled up my order. I had ordered two burgers and the condiments on the burgers were nowhere near what they were supposed to be. Check the flicks cuz I'll just leave it at that. So they kindly brought us back for a chance at redemption, and they nearly nailed a perfect score. The burgers were delicious, fries-perfect, and shakes, wonderful. However, they did forget one of the condiments on my burger. It wasn't a huge deal though since we were eating inside and I had fully unadulterated access to the chiles. Oh yeahhhh boiiiii. I was like a kid in a candy store with them chiles, or better yet, on my Brittney Spears like "Gimme Gimme More Gimme More Gimme Gimme!"...hahaa. Ain't no love lost burger friends. I will ride high on this In-N-Out burger hill. Special thanks to Omar for answering all of my questions, nailing our burger orders, and swirling up our neapolitan shakes. Thanks INO fam!

Yelp
Love In N Out but the last time I went to this location. I walked in to order. Which would typically be the quicker way of receiving food. Well my friends not anymore. Because I waited well over 35 minutes for a cheeseburger combo. I devoured my food once i received it. This area is in desperate need of another location. I can't imagine the wait through the drive thu. Which should not be considered one here anymore. Lol. But also nowhere to sit indoors. No where to wait for your order either. People started waiting outside. But yes the food is always consistent.

Yelp
Ordered: Regular Double-Double Burger (~$6): 2 beef patties, 2 slices of cheese, lettuce, tomato, sliced onions, grilled onions, and the infamous spread Protein-Style Double-Double Burger (~$6): 2 beef patties, 2 slices of cheese, lettuce, tomato, sliced onions, grilled onions, and the infamous spread Animal-Style Fries (~$4): fresh-cut fries topped with cheese, spread, and grilled onions Medium Soft Drink (~$2): Diet Coke Aya's take: It was quite literally 11am on a Tuesday and I wanted to grab In-N-Out before heading back to the East Coast where we don't have any locations. To my surprise, there was still a line. I guess it really doesn't matter what time you come. The Double-Double Burger is the way to go - always. I'm a big fan of the protein-style but their buns are usually so buttery, warm, and pillowy. The Animal-Style Fries are a must - we know the fries aren't good as is. Highly recommend grabbing some pepperoncinis which give the meal another added layer of flavor. It hit the spot, as always!

Yelp
Not much to say, but in and out was always a pleasant visit the woman was very efficient in the drive-through lines, taking everyone's order and making sure people knew to use the zipper rule to make sure that the orders didn't get mixed up. The food is also affordable as we got three shakes one combo meal, a grilled cheese and a cheeseburger and all of it added up to only $30, which is a steel compared to prices of other things nowadays. The service is always on point. Definitely feels like the workers are putting their best forward.

Yelp
I haven't had in-n-out since 2020. It's been a hot minute. Lines were long, but it went by fairly quick. Burger & fries, nothings changed. Just as great as they were, years ago. We obviously plan on coming back for more before we leave (again and again and again, lol).

Yelp
My California peeps and people that have had In-N-Out (INO) know how good the burgers and fries are. They probably also know how busy INO can get as well. This location like all the locations (at least every one that I've visited) has the great burgers and fries you come to expect from INO, but also the busyness. I typically go with a cheeseburger "animal style" (which used to be on their "secret menu," but it seems like everyone orders their burger that way now. Animal Style is when the beef patty is grilled with mustard then served with pickles, lettuce, grilled onions, and extra spread on a toasted bun. If you like your burger animal style, try animal style fries! If you are in the mood for milkshakes, INO has great tasting shakes as well. Most of the time we will get a Neapolitan shake (chocolate, strawberry and vanilla mixed together). It doesn't have a weird (unpleasant) after taste (like Shake Shack). Service is generally good and tables are usually clean. Once in a while, you might have to clean the table yourself because it is so busy. This location has indoor and outdoor seating. I have not had a problem finding parking at this location. Most people I know are fans of INO. And although inflation has affected pretty much everything, I still think INO is a good value for the price (unlike McDonald's). Of all the fast food burgers I've tried, INO still has the best fast food burger in my opinion. 5 / 5: Food (Burgers, fries, and shakes) 4 / 5: Service 4 / 5: Cleanliness 5 / 5: Overall (rounded up from 4.3/5)

Yelp
When you're in the west coast you HAVE to hit up In-N-Out Burger. It's a staple and how can you go wrong. Potatoes are cut and fried consistently through the day. I noticed the young kid just going to work on making the French fries, from start to finish... it might be his only job... I wonder if it's a punishment lol. As for the burgers, the little things that matter most... toasting the inside of the bun, fresh ingredients, melty cheese, juicy meat... oh boy, I need my fix again. The bizarre thing that I never imagined was how busy the drive-thru was. I mean, three lanes that merge into one. Staff outside taking orders one car at a time. It was easier to go inside and order. The inside was packed as well, but people didn't pitch a tent so you are able to grab a seat. FYI: They have a secret, but not so secret, menu... animal style isn't the only thing secret.

Yelp
Not all in and outs are the same but this store has a familiar model and store layout. It felt great coming back to In and Out with my son as we were visiting San Diego as a father son trip. We live in Georgia but my son has been mentioning how he wants to try In and Out so it was such a pleasant surprise to see a In N Out restaurant here in San Diego. We ordered two double doubles animal style, with fries and two shakes. It was a great meal and we were happy with the quality and classic In N Out taste. 5 stars!
google avatar

Cindy L.

Yelp
Came to In N Out two days in a row before we left San Diego! Again it did not disappoint. Such a nice texture of beef, lettuce and tomato. The shake was dreamlike. The staff were very friendly and the store was clean. We felt really good dining in. The drive through line was so long -- not surprising given how good the food was.

Yelp
I'm from New York, I don't get the hype. I'm traveling with a guy who is rabid for In-N-Out Burger. When we get off the plane, lets hit up In-N-Out asap. We get to the restaurant and I'm listening to him order: animal this, animal fries, animal everything! I walk up to the counter: lemme have a single burger and fries, animal it up. I watching them make everything, it seems very fresh? When I get outside, the fries are cold?? I have this unappealing animal looking sauce on top of the fries, what da hell?? The burger was interesting, long story short, I threw out half the burger and half the fries. I'm hungry so I went back inside and ordered a Vanilla Shake. I do have to say the team behind the counter are all working hard. Everyone is busy during the afternoon lunch rush. Listen, if your offended by my review and love In-N-Out Burger? Did I say I'm from New York? We served the first burger on the East Coast at Louis Lunch. I left hungry like the wolf! Never again will I go to In-N-Out Burger.

Yelp
The only bad part is the line to order and the wait to get your food. Oh, and the hunt for a place to sit. Food is excellent!
google avatar

Rodge B.

Yelp
3x3 with well done fries, and now they have pellet ice with the fountain drinks! Nuff said.
google avatar

Yelp
The drive through at this location is crazy! Opted to dine in, also crazy but turnover is good for seats. The price is good compared to what you get from other establishments.

Yelp
Super CROWDED @ 1030pm at night. We have been waiting in the drive thru for 20 minutes. But hey it's worth it, if the food comes out good! We were super hungry by the time the line went down. lol Even inside the In N Out was packkkkkked! I thought about trying to skip the line and go inside to order. But that would have taken just as long. I have to give In N Out credit though, they were managing the long lines pretty well. At least as best as they could. We finally ordered with one of the employees that came over to our window. He told us to pull behind the suburban. Which we tried to do, but this jerk off went ahead and cut us off. He was probably thinking we were cutting? I don't know. But we were just doing as instructed. The employee had to tell the jerk in the truck to back off and get behind us in line, since he hadn't even ordered yet. Just silly the stuff that happens when people are hangry. Our food was delicious though. It made the wait worth it.

Yelp
Esmeralda in the drive through is sooo nice! Her customer service skills are something to admire. Thank you!

Yelp
It was a long awaited opportunity to try this place.I was so excited!.So I ordered the double double burger with grilled onions n jalapeño peppers n of course there was no disappointment!.So delicious I wish I ordered another one!.Also the animal fries just made it all more enjoyable!!.I didn't dine in but the drive through window person was very very nice!.I'll definitely be eating here before I fly back home.Maybe I'll try the 4x4?!?!.Too bad I can't take some back home..

Yelp
Had to make our routine stop immediately after landing in San Diego! And like most cases, the service was superb - food was fresh & the quality was perfect - the location was well maintained, just hard to get in & out of the parking lot. But everything else was fantastic!
google avatar

Allen S.

Yelp
Just flew in from Seattle and yes, first stop. Never disappoints! A must stop at least once per visit.
google avatar

Ralph E.

Yelp
Being an east coaster this was my first experience at an In-N-Out burger. I felt the best way I could describe it was Shake Shake quality burgers/fries at a much better price with Chick-Fil-A service. Sure this is a fast food place but the staff was certainly friendly and knew how to get the job done. Despite being pretty busy the place was very clean and well maintained.
google avatar

Gail U.

Yelp
4-22-23 first stop once we retrieved our luggage at the airport. It was the closest one to where we were. It was hub's choice. I'm not burger enthusiast so I chose cheeseburger protein style which has no bun but wrapped in lettuce. Word of warning. Don't just chomp down on it once you open the wrapper or you'll get a mouthful of napkins for your first bite. Being a Saturday nite it was understandable how long the Drive Thru window was with its two lanes. It s very popular. Hubs and Doc had burgers and fries, we took it back to eat at "home." They had a young employee outside with a clipboard taking the orders of both lanes. It's like an ant colony inside with several employees putting your order together. My burger was as thin like Sekiya's but their mayo mustard like sauce helped keep it moist.
google avatar

Jay C.

Yelp
I recently visited In-N-Out in San Diego, and the food was fantastic, though it can depend on the location. I had a Double-Double Animal Style, Animal Style Fries, a Grilled Onion-Wrapped Flying Dutchman, and regular fries. The fries have to be perfect--fresh and crispy, which is key to their flavor. The Flying Dutchman was especially delicious with the sauce and peppers. The place definitely gave off GoodBurger vibes. Although the lines are usually long, the service is efficient and quick.
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Love the food, love the staff. If you want convenience, do the drive thru but it's usually longer than if you just go inside. The biggest negative is the parking spots are super small and people don't know how to park so unless your willing to squeeze in and out of your car or risk getting it dinged, park further away or do drive thru.
google avatar

Aeson P.

Yelp
A very good go-to restaurant. Delectable food, the service is very organized and nice, and has the ambiance of a friendly, inviting corner burger store. I need not say more, this restaurant is just a good one.

545 3.

Yelp
.... yes. food was great, staff did everthing for me, food was PHENOMENAL five stars*****

Joaquin Angelo B.

Yelp
We went to the newly-opened In-n-out in E Plaza Blvd and as always. The food was great. The cashier was welcoming and we got our food to-go but my wife changed her mind and decided to dine-in instead so when our number was called, I told the staff member handing out the food that we decided to eat it in store and we asked for a tray. The lady turned around and halfway through the act I noticed her eyes roll and do like an "annoyed" face. The service and experience would have been good if that staff member would've hid it. I know that sometimes people change their minds, I worked in food service too but visibly showing the unprofessional attitude is unnacceptable and disrepectful. Would probably go back to the store in Mile of Cars way instead of here in E Plaza Blvd even if the former is closer. Happened in 10/17/24 at 3:40pm
google avatar

Yelp
Quality Fresh Well-Priced food. The double double hamburger is just a simple burger with lettuce tomato cheese and onion but done very well. The animal style fries are unique but well seasoned and consistent all the way through. The vanilla shake doesn't do anything spectacular but it was a solid quality still. Is is worth the hype? I can't answer that for you but for me it was worth the 15 dollars.
google avatar

Adam K.

Yelp
Love In n Out. Visited from NY and nothing compares. The quality and the price are unparalleled. The hype is worthy.
google avatar

Liz N.

Yelp
Love coming to in n out for a no frills burger. It was poppin on a Thursday night (which when is it never?!). I got my usual cheeseburger with grilled onions and a neopolitean shake. No complaints here. Veggies were fresh and buns were nicely buttered and toasted. It took about 20 min for food to come out which wasn't bad cause it was busy. Service is quick. We enjoyed our burgers outside in the lovely SD weather.
google avatar

Louis F.

Yelp
Can't lie they say it's better in California, it definitely is. My son and I were in San Diego visiting and this was my cheap meal for the trip and pretty much my best meal if I being honest.
google avatar

Patrick B.

Yelp
In n out has some great burgers and I love their animal style fries. This place is always a great option when you are wanting something fast and quick. Great customer service from the employees and fast service. The drive thru does get really busy though if you go during rush hours.
google avatar

Marshall G.

Yelp
Can't go wrong with in an out. Pick up burgers and fries n shakes. Don't forget yellow peppers for spice. Eat on the road. Works for us. Great burgers
google avatar

Trevor M.

Yelp
It's In n Out. Always a line but tends to move at a decent pace. I can always appreciate the friendliness of the staff here. That sets it apart from other fast food. Pretty steady homeless population in this area, I have seen come crazy stuff happen around me while waiting in the drive thru line (free entertainment). They have a security guard at all times so it doesn't affect the business.
google avatar

Esau C.

Yelp
Before anything, let me tell you, I'm a big fan of In-N-Out made a quick run for my lunch, left me not wanting to eat the rest of my lunch, my fries were SALTY it seems like they were drench in salt I could even see the salt particles. Hope to see better days with less salt.
google avatar

Derek C.

Yelp
More like In-N-Wait. Longest I ever waited at any in n out and it wasn't even that busy. 30 minutes for a burger. People were complaining and yet we heard her telling people the wait was 10-15 minutes. Just be honest if you under staffed.
google avatar

Jordan B.

Yelp
Now you KNOW I couldn't come back to my hometown and not get some In-N-Out Burger. Their theme song is permanently etched in my brain from watching commercials on T.V. as a kid. Sing it with me y'all ... In-N-Out, In-N-Ouuuuuuut, that's what a hamburger's all about! Okay so if you're still bearing with me and powering through this review let me tell you how In-N-Out is for me 20 years later. On God, their burgers are just as delicious and addicting I remember! They were so good I had to get an extra one to go both times I went during my recent trip back to Cali. I personally like to get my burgers with banana peppers inside and extra spread on the side. Oh yes Gawd, that extra spice and flavor will get you right honey! Honestly though, I do have to say that their fries were never worth the hoopla to me so I'll keep quiet about them, well actually chile, as a word of advice just order them plane with some ketchup, because if you get them animal style, all the cheese and spread will coagulate and leave your fries inedible. (Baybaaaaaaye). When it comes to their shakes, they are just good and simple with the perfect consistency to drink through a straw. This particular location was on point with their service. Despite being busy, they took orders, got food out, and flipped tables (cleaning included) pretty damn quickly. I was impressed. Hopefully, it won't be another 20 years before I can experience one of these delicious burgers again! PS: I was able to take some of my students from the East Coast who have never been to this location before, and seeing them enjoy this California delicacy for the first time was a highlight of my summer.
google avatar

Joy B.

Yelp
In n out never misses. Now that we've got that out the way....let's talk about Esmeralda and her exceptional service. She went out of her to make sure that in the midst of all the busyness that I received my food/condiments by bringing it to my table. Her personality was very warm, the epitome of service with a smile.
google avatar

Jessie H.

Yelp
Located in a shopping center, this is one of the better In-N-Out burger locations I have been to! Service is amazing and it is pretty clean inside!!! I love getting this burger whenever I am on the west coast. My go to the cheese burger and fries. I would ask for a side of the animal sauce so that you can dip your fries in it! I also got a vanilla milkshake! Great prices!!! It is pretty cheap! For the price and quality I think it is worth it, must try if you havent!!!
google avatar

Alyssa M.

Yelp
Worst in n out there is. Period. If they're not getting it wrong they're skipping people in line and causing a ridiculous wait.
google avatar

Jazzy P.

Yelp
This place is a machine! Lady cuts in front of me at the counter. "Ok, I'm up next ". She orders 40 (forty!) double doubles! Yolks on me
google avatar

LaShekita S.

Yelp
Always fast, fresh & delicious!! There employees are always super polite and friendly... Love this place!!!
google avatar

Steven H.

Yelp
We don't go to In and Out often but it sure is delicious when we do. The Sports Arena location has the drive thru down to a science. Even when the line is a bit longer they still manage to crank cars through quickly. Be prepared to order so you don't hold up the line! It's a simple menu and the Double Doubles are our go to. We typically skip the fries and stick to the burgers. Tip: if you like pickles you need to ask them to add them as they don't come with them automatically.

Jonathan L.

Yelp
Food is tasty and very affordable! Fries are okay but when you add your own salt it goes to another level for sure

Jordana R.

Yelp
Fernando is the best!!!! Great customer service, super nice employees overall and quick

Yelp
This is my go to spot when I am craving a burger. Around a week ago I came with my 5 year old daughter that wanted to order herself. A young lady named Crystal I believe took her order and was very respectful and patient with her and it was a great moment for me and my daughter she was so happy that she was able to do it all on her own. Now she wants to order herself every time lol
google avatar

Chelle S.

Yelp
Last 3 times we've been here, the fries were terrible. Overcooked and crispy, like crackers. Someone on the fryer is going a bad job.
google avatar

Jason R.

Yelp
This my second experience here (my first was just a bare days prior in LA) and this experience was a little smoother. This place wasn't remotely as crowded as the prior location, but I wanted to try it one more time before I headed back to New York. I went for a Double Double and Fries (I don't like their fries, whatsoever) but the burger was solid. I think this place is slightly overrated, but I did enjoy my burger.
